"Ressies"

It's probably because they don't know the correct spelling of voila. Kinda like someone typing NOOB because they don't know it should be newbie. Or saying lip singing because they don't know it's supposed to be lip synching.
.
Actually calling someone NOOB is the same as calling them a dope.

Carnt.

Never knew there was an r in it until I joined FB.

I can't even...

Used like that, it doesn't bother me at all! :)

In fact, I'm in Oklahoma and it's 103 out and I'm still fixin' to head for the liquor store. . ;)

:D
103 degrees, you need to head to the liquor store.
ADR is a made a made up DIS term, like mousekeepers. Disney doesn't use either, although they are loved by many Dissers.
I am happy with the ye ole term... reservations.
Relatively certain Advance Dining Reservation is Disney's official term for its extreme call-ahead seating. The acronym may be DIS shorthand, but not the name.
Call him your lover and watch the reactions LOL
Call him your boy-toy and watch those reactions ;)

To be fair, preggo and preggers aren't exactly new terms, so I don't think they are any sort of commentary on the laziness of modern society. I found one source that dates these terms back to the 1940s and 50s, so they've likely been annoying people for decades.

I obviously live a very sheltered life. The first time I heard either of these terms was about a decade ago on the internet. TBH, I don't think it's laziness as much as the need for some people to feel special, but I thought laziness sounded a little nicer. ;) To me, either reason fits. :p Neither preggo or preggers make me angry. They're definitely eye roll worthy though.

The acronym ADR was what I was taking about.
I knew someone who called Disney Dining and it was a comedy of errors, pretty much because the CM insisted there is no such event listed as ADR. Who's on first?

When she asked me about it, I suggested just asking for a dining reservation. It's not easy being a first time planner who thinks they've got the right lingo.

I'm with you on preggers & raise you a preggo, especially we're preggers/preggo. As far as I'm concerned, my DH doesn't get any credit for the 42 weeks I suffered through morning sickness, weight gain, heartburn, constantly needing to pee, not being able to sleep due to back pain, etc. I was pregnant. He didn't carry a baby. Really, I try to ignore it, but why? Why not say I'm pregnant? I just don't get it. :confused3:p Have we as a society gotten too lazy to type or pronounce a complete word? :sad2:

It's the baby bumps I'm tired of hearing about.

"Come on over to the man-cave. My boo is preggo with a littles but she made some ressies at the local chow place and we can get a burger with all the fixins'. YOLO!!"

;)

So I take it, this is Oklahoma dialect. Good to know. ;) How do you say can I get a rum and Coke in Oklahomian? :drinking1
