Ressies for 7

Im having a hard time finding ressies for anywhere we want to eat while on our trip over Tgiving. Anyone have any suggestions how to get an ADR for that time. Yes I know the 90 day mark has passed........but friends decided to join us for part of it, so I am having to change..

Also, if 5 of us are on the dining plan and 2 arent........will we still be charged the gratuity because we are a party over 6?

We always travel as a party of 7 (dh and I and our 4 kids and my mom). We generally make all adr's when the window opens, but occasionally we do make changes and we usually have been able to fine openings even for a party of 7.

I am sure Thanksgiving week is a busy one, so I would just use the standard advise...check off the beaten path restaurants, try eating at less popular times, and keep checking for openings which are bound to show up (I understand the 45 day marks can be especially good since all packages must be paid in full by that day).

And yes, you will automatically be charged the gratuity for your party even with two different checks...at least that has been our experience.

Don't give up!! Sometimes folks will cancel and you can even call from your room.

If you are a party of 6 or more, regardless of how you pay the bill, Dis will automatically add gratuity.

It might work better if you try to book the ADR's as two seperate parties within 15 mins or so of each other. I know you probably wouldn't want to be at separate tables all the time, but hey it's better to eat in the same restaurant than to just not eat anywhere or be stuck with CS the entire time. I mean, how much do you really talk with the people at the opposite end of a 7 person party anyways?

And it never hurts to ask the CM's when you get there if they would try to seat the two parties next to each other.
