Ressie get lost in the system?

I just read another thread and it prompted a question in my mind that I've thought about ALOT recently.

I have changed my ressies overall now 3 times...started with a split GF/AKL stay in NOV....found out DH couldnt take off during that time. Changed ressies to 1st week in Jan under Dream Maker package. Then when AP rates came out, I cancelled those and made GF/AKL ressies for week before Christmas.

This also involved "transferring" my Disney Visa deposit on both ressies.

Since then, I've been deluged with a series of WDTC ressie confirmations, even though the CM assured me all the old ones were cancelled.

I'm nervous that one or two may still be in the system and it will be a nightmare to sort out. I'm planning on waiting a week or two then calling back to double check. My question is this...has anyone who's ever done this (and I know there are lots of us) ever had any leftover ressies on the computer system, and how much of a nightmare was it to clear up?

Thanks for any replys!

Sally,
I am worried about the same thing. I started out with split AKL/Poly ressies in Nov. Booked with a AAA discount. Since AP discounts came out, my reservation has been modified multiple times. Same dates but modified to get AP discount. And I lost the AKL in the process. I now have 4 reservations for one stay/one resort. I start with a AAA discount, go to an AP, then another AP, and then back to AAA. Even though my 4 AP discount nights are back to back, the computer wouldn't let them combine the reservation. I'm just hoping I won't have to change rooms 3 times!

My last call to CRO did find a problem with my reservation. Apparently, they doubled booked one night. Even confirming reservations each call, no one else ever picked up on this. After 45 minutes, all was corrected. I plan to call again to confirm that everything is as it should be and then again within a week of our vacation.

Good luck to you!

We are worried about the same thing. We have changed and changed and changed. But the one time, we were calling to check on our reservations and they were cancelled:eek: no new reservation had been made. So thank goodness it was before the FTP had to be booked and we were rebooked. Since then, we have switched a few more times and might switch again! So, I now piriodically call and make sure I still have my new reservations. So far, I have always gotten my money back from them or had it all switched to the new reservation.

I would just call with the old reservation nu,mbers and make sure they were cancelled.

Sally,

Interesting question you ask! I made honeymoon reservations last December (room only) and have modified that reservation over 10 times! (Changing number of nights, changing check in and out dates, etc.) Never had a problem, the CM always transfered my deposit to the new reservation.

The only problem that came up was when I tried to add an AP discount to my existing ressie. I have two reservations for December. First week is for CBR and second week is WL. Last Thursday I called to add an AP code to both reservations. The CM on the phone said it was all set. So a few days later I get conformation letters in the mail. AP rate was added to my CBR ressie, but not to my WL ressie!! Called Disney on Sept. 3rd and talked with a manager. I had a woodsview room with AP discount, but the conformation letter showed standard room at rack rate! I demanded that I get what I had booked last Thursday, which was a woodsview room at rack rate. It wasn't my fault the CM never put it thru when I called on Thursday.

After 20 minutes, the manager finally talked with the Inventory Dept. and they ok'd it to give me back my woodsview room with an AP rate. The manager said, "I can only do this, this one time." I thought, 'If another CM messes up my ressie, you'll be doing this again!' (I would have never mentioned that to her, of course. I was just relieve to get back what I'd booked last Thursday!!)

I love to squeeze every penny out of my reservations...but it always seems like such a nightmare...In the past 4 months I've reserved and cancelled 3 split ressies...and booked one final one. I can't use my work phone...they track calls...I'm not at home during prime calling time, so my cellphone has gotten a real workout. I think I used up all my minutes during the last AP round!

I guess I don't understand when you give them your name and phone #, or DC card #, why all the new and old ressies dont just pop up on the screen. So many times I've said...could you please double check and make sure everything has been cancelled that was supposed to be. Then they have to go to another screen and another and another. It kinda sounds like CRO and WDTC use two totally different computers and the CM's have two computer screens to deal with. I love the deals...I hate the hassles. Wouldnt it be cool if we could check "call in" ressies online, like the checks they have for "online" ressies?

Still excited as ever to go the week before Christmas! Next round of nightmare...trying to land breakfast at CRT exactly at 7 am...either I'm goin to work early or late...I'm usually on the road at that time.:smooth:
