I have been reading the posts about some people randomly receiving postcards or e-mail offers, and I wondered about the whys and hows of the system. I have been registered at the WDW site, I checked off that I wanted to hear about any kinds of offers, I have made many trips to WDW Resorts over the years, and so I just wondered. I read someone's post to go back and re-do the checking off on the offers page, so I did that. Nothing. So, I decided to write and ask how they determine who gets offers. I got the form letter response right away, saying they were glad to hear from me and would be in contact. Here is the e-mail response they sent me tonight:
Dear Marie,
Thank you for contacting WALT DISNEY WORLD!
We have your email address in our database here. If you haven't already, please
register with disneyworld.com as they also send out promotions.
If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.
Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if
applicable on all correspondence.
Thank you!
I guess this simply means the computer just randomly selects people from a list of e-mail adresses. This "answer" didn't really clear things up, but I thought it was of some interest to share it with all of you.
