I know many of you guys have stayed at Santa Fe, which has no pool. If you wanted to go swimming, what resort do you usually hit up for that? Is that kind of resort hopping allowed just like at WDW? Thanks for the help!

Cheyenne does not have a pool too. Every other does.
Sequoia Lodge is the most economic hotel onsite having a pool. I don't think that pool hopping is allowed.

The Thomas Cook Explorers hotel is a partner hotel which has a very good pool and is more economic than onsite hotels (when booked through the hotel website and not through Disney).
It also has rooms for up to 10 people.

you can't pool-hop at all at DLP. If the hotel you're a guest at doesn't have a pool, you can't go swimming.

So if a pool is important to you, you need to book a hotel with a pool :).

When we first started going to DLP we always booked the hotels with pools because we thought it would be nice. I think we have been swimming once in over 10 visits!!! (Then again we always visit during the winter - maybe I would feel differently if we went in the summer.) But because we are only there for a few days there never seems to be the time.

You can go a look around any of the other resorts, have a drink there or eat in the restaurants. But as others have said you can't pool hop, but then I don't think that is allowed in WDW either.

Just a FYI, i don't think the pools are heated either..?

HNY pool is heated and has a lovely warm jacuzzi - the pool is inside and outside (we had to ask them to open the doors to outside as there were not many poeple and I think the lifeguards were hoping for an easy time:rolleyes2). In colder weather I don't think you can go outside, but we were able to relax on the sunbeds for a bit in lovely warm sunshine - a great mid-commando break!!
