Just got back about 5 hours ago and the front desk will print out your return boarding passes for SWA after midnight. Our friends did it at BC and we did it the following night at Pops. I don't know if this was reported previously or not. Hope this helps someone.

From what I have been told by our management, we have been told that we're not supposed to do that, since it requires personal information from the guests.

I could see how that could get out of hand very quickly. I can see people complaining that the line for printing boarding passes didn't move quickly enough.

While that makes some sense, you already have a ton of when they check in. SWA only requires the flight confirmation and the name of the person flying. There is no credit card info required.
But, I sure can see it getting out of hand REALLY fast.

I didn't think this would cause any problems. If the monitor wants to delete this, or someone feels they should please do. I know that you can also go to the convention center and pay for time and print it out. the only info needed is the last name and confirmation number to get access to this. I just thought it was really nice of them to say that they could do it. It was the one good thing that resulted on this trip.

I used the Coronado Springs business center during our last trip (we were staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge) to print out our Southwest boarding passes. I was fully prepared to pay the posted fees; however, the cast member working the counter asked if I was printing boarding passes. When I answered "yes", she did not charge me for the computer time. The only charges were for the two printouts that I made.

Please do not take this as official policy; this was my experience on one occasion at CSR. Your mileage may vary.

We used the business office of the Grand Californian while out at DL this past April. But we used the 'puter ourselves. The CM waived the charge.

We always fly to Orlando from Ohio. We are also DVC members. I always have the front desk(at OKW) print our boarding passes for our return trip. It makes it very easy and convenient. It is also free for DVC members.

All that is needed is your confirmation number and last name.

Wow - in all the trips we've made, I never knew this! I guess I just never asked! Honestly, though, we find that using the airport kiosk is pretty easy. I think the only time I'd even bother the front desk would be when flying on Southwest so I could be sure to get that coveted "A" group letter!

You cannot be sure to get an A letter when checking in online.
They are equally passed out between online, curb, counter and gate.

Say there are 30 "A" passes. Do all four areas pull from the 30, and the first 30's get A's, or do they say 10 for each area, and the first 10 who check in online get A's, regardless of the curbside running out of A's?

We had ours printed at the BCV front desk also. The CM who did it didn't seem to think there was anything unusual about it.

I had tried bringing a small portable printer to attach to my laptop, but couldnt get the internet connection to work. Sooo, at about 1:15 in the AM, looking like something that crawled out the gutter, I went down to the front desk. I told the CM what had happened, and she offered to do it without hesitation.

Considering how I must have looked, maybe she just wanted to get rid of me.

I hope this is something we can do ongoing, it makes it so much easier.

Its just that I find this hard to believe.

In the scenario - plane holds 120. 40 BP's for each letter. But only 39 use curbside check in up to flight time. Everyone else is getting C tickets. Right before flight time someone goes to curbside and gets an A pass. I doubt it.

I believe it is based on time you check in with no regard to where you check in. A number is printed on your BP so it makes sense that numbers 1-40 get an A, 41-80 get a B and 81-120 get a C.

Based on your assumption, all people checking in online should get all the A passes, which is not correct. I have been told numerous times that they are equally distributed between the check in venues.
Also, in your quote from the site, it fails to mention online checkin.
Right before flight time the only place you can get a pass, btw, is at the gate. " At 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure you can get a boarding pass only at the Departure Gate. "

You are certainly welcome to disagree, I am only stating what I was told.

so in actuality, you could get to the gate approximately one hour before your flight and have a good chance of getting an A boarding pass since ( if i understand gail's premise correctly ) the gate will get an equal number of A passes to hand out....

thus, a person who might have checked in at the main counter or skycap or kiosk at 1 and a half hour before departure and might have gotten a B or C Boarding Pass while there were still A Boarding Passes available, but only at the GATE

something does not seem right about that possibility, but of course, there are "blue cover sleeves" which some people use as an A boarding pass even when they were issued other "denominations"

in the end, no one really knows for sure since there is some discretion given to "gate agents" and the rules are not always applied "equally" at all airports

i do recall, once in buffalo, someone who checked in at the gate saying they had received an A borading pass but not sure about that as a fact
