resorts to mini golf and back after hours

how does one effectively get from a resort to winter-summerland after hours? the bus to blizzard beach doesn't seem to work because winter-summerland is open until 11pm and blizzard beach closes at 5pm, so they don't run a bus?

last year i was lucky and a FL resident was visiting me with a car, but that might not be the case. anyone got any tips?

We did just that this past April! We wanted to see fantasmic that night as they were showing two shows that evening. The remaining bus for that route only went to EPCOT, and we were worried that with the walk through EPCOT, out the back onto the boat to MGM that we'd miss the show. I have no idea why we were worried, since finally I just said "get a cab!" The phone is towards the end of the bus area. DH picked it up and called our resort, who since we were concierge gave us to the concierge desk (didn't need to though). Mears had us picked up in ten minutes and we were off to MGM! It was funny because you could hear the earlier Fantasmic show going on at MGM, but you can't get there from where we were by walking!

I "adopted" an English lady and her son who were also there. I asked them where they were going and it happened it was also MGM for Fantasmic. I told them to join us and that we were adopting them for the night! She tried to pay half the cab fare (Don't remember what it was, but it was cheap, even with tip), but DH and I insisted she not, and instead adopt a family some other time and we'd be even!

Long story short... Call a cab!

I'd say take a cab also if you don't want to wait for the Epcot/All Stars bus. Even that bus stops at 9pm, I think, so it would be simpler to call a cab.

To avoid all that, we plan on going to Blizzard Beach, using the lockers, etc. and taking a break during the day to play minigolf. Then back to BB until closing, when we will be able to grab a bus back to GF.

An alternative is to use the Fantasia min-golf. Walking distance to S/D.

Ask a friendly bus driver!!!!!!!!!!!

On two separate trips we managed to get private bus service to locations we were trying to get to.

The first time we got on the wrong bus when trying to go to MGM. We mistakenly got on the downtown bus and after making all the stops and we were the only people left on the bus the driver ask if we didn't want to get off and we said no we were waiting to get off at MGM. The driver said this bus doesn't stop at MGM, we looked at him baffled, then he said he could drop us off which he did. Private bus ride number one!!!

The second time we took the boat from MGM to Boardwalk for dinner. Afterwards we wanted to take a bus back to wilderness lodge. We went out to the bus stop and waited and soon realized there would be no direct bus so we ask the next driver that stopped the best way to get there and he said that his bus was now off duty, to hop on and he would take use there. Which we did. Much to our surprise the next thing we knew we were passing Animal Kingdom. I called to the bus driver and ask him if we were taking the scenic route and he said "no, you wanted to go to animal kingdom lodge, right?" we said no wilderness lodge. He turned the bus around and we were off again across disney world. We did make to our resort and we thanked the diver very much. He was very embarrassed about the mix up. We told him not to worry, we enjoyed our private bus tour of the world!
