Resorts not included in discounts

I've read some thoughts that places like the WL and POFQ recently tend not to be included in the different discounts
Is this ususal or unusual?

We will be at BLT 11-27 thru 12-4 and I wasn't able to get FD or any kind of room discount!!! We've been booked since March and I called the 1st day for both discounts and nothing was available!!!! Next time we will stay at the Swan or Dolphin and just pay OOP. Not having any kind of discount with DXDP for 6 has turned into a ridiculous amount of money for a vacation!!!

We are booked for BLT in Feb, and we got the AAA discount on a 1 bedroom.

I am booked at WL with a 35% off pin code. One of the only resorts that I have heard numerous times from guests as well as CM's that does not "usually" have discounts is BLT.

I think you're referring to the last 2-3 rounds of public room discounts. They only had POFQ at a 5% discount, while others moderates were 20-25%. For the fall public room discount, WL has a 15-20% discount while other deluxes have 25-30%. I believe WL spring room only discount was less.

The LM AoA rooms have been excluded from public FD and room only discounts. But there have been discounts for disney visa holders & AAA members.

Certain views have been excluded from room only discounts on the last 2 rounds as well. For the fall public room discount, only standard views at AKL are discounted. Similiar restrictions were on the spring/fall discounts.

Disney doesn't need to discount rooms that people are willing to pay rack rate for. They use discounts to fill empty rooms.

A lot of times POP is a lesser % than the All Stars. Also, AoA rooms haven't had much of a room discount either (Little Mermaid section hasn't any discount yet that I know of).

I agree. If a resort is at or near capacity, Disney will see no need to offer that resort (or certain room types) at a discount. I have never had a problem finding availability at the WL under promos, but I have seen past discounts as low as 5% at the WL.

May 2012, we had woods view bunk at WL with 30% off room only general public discount released mid Feb so 2.5 months before traveling. No queen only rooms were avail but we didn't mind. We had a wishes view!
