Resorts near Cypress Gardens

We are going to Cypress Gardens for a few days before Disney. I am looking for a relatively inexpensive hotel with a
continental breakfast. How far is Cypress if I got a hotel in the Disney area?

I haven't been to Cypress Gardens in years, but I don't remember it being too far away.

I just checked the Cypress Garden website and they are located midway between Orlando and Tampa in Winder Haven - less than an hour's drive from WDW.

We went to Cypress while staying at WDW this past Feb. It was wonderful. I am so glad they have brought the park back. The gardens are beautiful. the Butterfly house is great and just the memories it brings back. I think it took us about 45 to hour to get there due to condtruction on the roads.

Here are the directions from Orlando
Midway between Orlando and Tampa the park is located less than 60 minutes from both metro areas in Winter Haven. Cypress Gardens is off U.S. Highway 27 south of Interstate 4.

From Orlando: I-4 WEST to exit 55 (U.S. Hwy 27 SOUTH). Continue South on U.S. Hwy. 27. Turn right off U.S. Highway 27 at State Road 540/Cypress Gardens Boulevard. Park is 4 miles on the left.

Also check out to see if there are any special concerts while you are going to be there. They are free but for a small additional fee you can get a reserved seat in the ampitheater. Have a great time
