Hi,

It will just me myself and my Sister travelling. It's not that we don't like kids it's just we like a bit of a quieter time near the pool etc.

Out of the resorts I have listed, what resorts would you say are less popular with families?

Thanks!:goodvibes

None of the above. CONDO style accommodations with multiple bedrooms, kitchen with washer/dryer appeal to families (with kids).

Luck of the draw if you happen to get assigned a unit which doesn't have kids near you.

I will take an educated guess and say that the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress "might" be quiter and have fewer families than the other resorts. But, proximity to WDW usually appeals to families. If you don't mind driving on I-4 from downtown Orlando, you can avoid much of the Disney/Universal/IofA/Seaworld crowd by staying in a downtown hotel.

I'm with Lewis. None of them. If your primary goal is a quieter atmosphere, I'd look to some of the higher-end hotels up near the convention center. The Ritz Carlton or JW Marriott might work.

I agree with Lewis. Anywhere that has accommodations for more than 4 people in a room(like one bedroom suites, two bedrooms, etc.) is out. And definitely not anywhere with slides and such at their pool(s)....especially pirate ships!! lol

I get where you are coming from. I'm sure you are not going for a place with NO kids because that would be impossible at Disney. I would think hotels that are more upscale, maybe with a spa (just not ones with those awesome pools).

Have you checked out Gaylord? I've been there but never stayed overnight so I don't know about their pools or anything but you can find that one on Priceline sometimes.

If you have to stay in one of those on your list, just check which ones have multiple pools so you can go to one that has no slide, no zero entry or anything fun.

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress isn't one of the choices.

Poll asks for condo choices.

Hotels like the Peabody and the hotels in Celebration are probably the best option.

Gaylord is a convention hotel. Conventions are held in Orlando so attendees can bring their family.

Onsite--Boardwalk Inn is probably your best choice. Families with kids, looking at that price range, are more likely to pick BC/YC.

Surely the Hilton Parc Soliel wouldn't have as many. I can't see as many families being able to afford to stay there??

It's a regular Hilton timeshare, part of the HGVC system. Anyone who owns hilton can book it. It also looks a little more conveniently-located to WDW than the other two, giving families a reason to pick it over the other two.

You can book a room there on expedia for $100 a night. I think many families can afford that.

I have found that these condo-style places are much quieter than hotels. The rooms are much bigger so you don't have as many people packed in to a small area. Also, during the day most of the families are visiting theme parks.

If you are trying avoid families, a business-oriented hotel would be a better option as the other posters have pointed out.

If you have flexible dates, the best way to avoid kids would be to go when most of them are in school.

I agree with the PP who said to try the Ritz Carleton. I've found that when we stay in higher end hotels, there tend to be less families with children (other than the deluxe on-site hotels at WDW).

Since there is a lazy river at those locations, a lot of families stay there as well. I can't think of a single place where I haven't seen tons of kids. :rotfl:

It's Orlando and I expect it!

I do think the Peabody might have fewer kids. It is pretty expensive (and has upper end restaurants).

I don't want people to get the wrong idea. It's not that I don't like kids, I just wondered if there was any resorts with less kids.

I have been to Orlando 7 times before and have always stayed in pool homes so I am used to having chill time by the pool.

I do appreciated everybody's feedback :goodvibes
