Which resorts are definetly on the top of your wishlist and which ones are you never going to try? :flower3: What was the critical detail that tips the scales one way or the other? :wizard: (You can include your "in-between's" too and rank them all if you want!)

The ones at the top of my wishlist are the ones I've actually stayed at; Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian. I don't really have too much of a desire to stay elsewhere, but I think I would enjoy the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Port Orleans Riverside (I LOVE the theming.)

My top top favorite which I've only had the privlege to stay at once is Poly. My other favorite is Grand Floridian which I had the privlege of staying at twice as a kid. :cool1:

My least favorite is CBR, i had a horrible experience there back in 1999 with a room filled with sand, bugs, etc just filthy and nobody would acknowledge us and do anything about it plus we had the absolute last building at the end and with my grandparents, they had to rent a car to drive to the main building for food. :sad2:

I have NEVER stayed at a value resort in the 22 years of my life I've been going to Disney and they don't exactly appeal to me. Maybe if I had kids and it was like their first trip and I could build it up in the following years with the other resorts, but I feel it's more for large groups and I'm into som peace and quiet at Disney (I know it sounds funny!) LOL

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to stay at the Poly again someday. I also am interested to try Coronado Springs as well as Fort Wilderness (but the decor is way to similar to the home we rent in PA every thanksgiving) but if I stayed there I'd certainly like to rent a Villa.

In order of theming preference. ;)

1. Wilderness Lodge (stayed there and loved it! :cloud9:)
2. Animal Kingdom Lodge
3. Beach Club
4. Yacht Club
5. Boardwalk
6. Grand Floridian
7. Polynesian
8. Contemporary
9. Port Orleans French Quarter
10. Caribbean Beach Resort
11. Port Orleans Riverside
12. Pop Century
13. Coronado Springs Resort
14. Saratoga Springs Resort
15. Old Key West
16. AS Movies
17. AS Music
18. AS Sports

The three that I REALLY want to stay at are:
1. Boardwalk (with a BW view)
2. Polynesian
3. Yacht/Beach
(4. WL)
(5. Contemporary)

We loved AKV-Kidani and would stay there again in a heartbeat. We also like the Swan/Dolphin a lot for the location, teacher discount, and heavenly beds...but will probably move them to the bottome of our "stay again" list just because we've stayed there several times already.

We are hoping to try them all, so I won't say we'll never stay in any of them. I'm not sure we'll go back to POFQ unless it gets updated. We've only done one value for one night...I didn't care for it at all...but would be willing to do it again for 2 reasons- the price, and the appeal to young kids.

My dream resorts are GF and WL. We're staying at the Grand in September and we'll stay at WL if we ever go during the Christmas season. DH has always wanted to stay at the YC.

I'm not interested in the All Stars at all. Just not my theming, but Pop was fantastic.

We're not opposed to staying at any resort though, if it means being at Disney and staying within our budget.

I have to say that when I retire, I plan to stay at the GF for a week, followed by a one-week Disney Cruise. But that is about 15-1/2 years away.:goodvibes

At the top of my current wish list are the Wilderness Lodge and the Boardwalk. I go out of my way every year to go to the WL, to sit in their lounge and have a few drinks. I love the aspect of the BW and just walking out the back door and having all those activities right there. Plus it would also satisify my love of the water taxi at POR.

But I just love POR as a moderate; I cannot think of staying at any other moderate. I love the layout and the water taxi to DTD.

As far as values, I don't think they are for me. I often travel alone or with other friends, and I am not really interested in staying at a place where there are just tons of families. For me, it is definately worth the extra money to stay at a moderate.

We have only stayed at four (CR, Poly, All Star Sports and CSR).

We have two we still want to try -- AKL (Savannah View) and Beach Club

We have three we will never stay at -- Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian and the Caribbean

I would stay at any Disney resort!

But my dream resorts are:
Beach Club
Grand Floridian
and the Poly!

I really want to try Coronado Springs too.

We have stayed at all but one on our dream list and we'll be knocking that one off the list in 4 months when we stay at the Treehouse Villas.

Until they move the GF to Epcot, I've determined there is no perfect resort. We love staying at GF because we love the hotel but we like our stays at BC/YC/BCV more because we like that location.

We've been to WDW so many times now that the only park we spend much time in is Epcot so that is probably our critical detail.

The critical detail that tips the scales for me is the size of the beds.

I won't do any of the values or mods (except for CSR) at this point in time. Although my reason is based simply on the beds.

We usually travel with four of us and I can not sleep in a double bed with someone else. A queen bed is tight for me. I like to spread out when I sleep (I'm 5' 9" with long legs) and do not like to be touched by anyone else while sleeping. Not being able to sleep because of a too small bed is not a vacation I'm willing to consider. :)

favorite is GF, and I have been lucky enough to stay there 5 times, RPC.
one I have NOT stayed at that I want to is BWI, and I am staying there in March and so excited about it!

Of the deluxes I don't think I will ever stay at CR. We are southern folk, and that modern feel to us is cold and impersonable and not very disney, but that's just us!

dont think i will ever stay in a value, in our opinions we would rather save up a few extra months and be able to stay nicer than go now and stay value. But we are resort people and spend a lot of time at "home" so it's improtant to us. (and we don't fit in small beds!)

Okay, my "wish list" (meaning places I haven't stayed in yet mostly because of money!) are:

1. Grand Floridian, Main Building Club level, Theme Park View
2. Poly, Hawaii or Tahiti, Theme Park View (with balcony)
3. Boardwalk, Boardwalk view
4. Animal Kingdom Lodge, Club Level, savannah view
5. Yacht Club (when they're done with the refurb)
6. Beach Club

And although I hesistate to stay at a moderate or value for several reasons, I would like to try the following just because I think my son would love them!
7. Caribbean Beach, Nemo Room
8. All Star Movies, Toy Story section

My "regular" favorites (that I can actually afford occasionally), in order, are:
Wilderness Lodge, Courtyard view
Grand Floridian, garden view
Poly, garden view
Boardwalk, any view

For us it's about the overall theming, the location for transportation, the view (we love balconies), and the pool/bar. I also prefer rooms that have been recently refurbished. We fall into the category that the hotel is part of the vacation, not just someplace to sleep at night so it's an important decision for us.

Favorites that I've stayed at (top 2)
1. Polynesian
2. Contemporary

Top 3 on my 'wishlist'
1. Grand Floridian
2. AKL
3. WL

Mine are:

GF in a suite
AKL in a suite
Poly suite

'cause I'd like to try a suite someday. :)

My fav's are BWI, Poly, and POR. Love the theming at all three and loved the service and the food there. Loved my POP stay too, although we had really bad bus karma there.

My "meehhh" resorts are AKL (stayed there twice and wasn't impressed with the service), and POFQ. I wasn't nuts about BLT either, although it's my home resort. :upsidedow

The only resorts I don't want to try are YC, S and D, and the All Stars. They just don't appeal to me.

Someday I''ll get around to trying CSR, the Cabins and CBR too. :goodvibes

I have stayed at YC, BC, BW and AKL. I have an April trip booked for the GF. So, my current wish list consists of staying at the remaining deluxes: Poly, CR and WL.

Stayed at the Contemporary in the tower once and the monorail access is really fun but the theming to me is not that special.

POR was fun but as someone said the rooms can be a bit dark.

We have stayed at BC several times and it is always great. We love the pool and the location to Epcot.

Now that my kids are older teens, we hope to visit BW as they really liked the street performers and again, good access to Epcot.

I'd choose Poly if we ever do a monorail resort again; it gets so many great reviews.

My favorites where we've stayed:
Polynesian Resort
Port Orleans Riverside
Animal Kingdom Lodge

Those I'd like to try still:
Swan
Wilderness Lodge
Fort Wilderness (cabin)
Contemporary Resort
Beach Club or Yacht Club (this one not so much)

The rest we've either tried and once was enough or we have no interest in trying.
