atomsmom-Great current info. Thanks.
Could you give me your opinion of the Neverland area. Is it still enjoyable, or does the construction take away to much from it? What about noise level?
Does the Dream Tower seem affected by any of this, anymore?
TIA
We were at the DLH from Aug 16-21. I was a little disappointed being in the Wonder tower at first. I tried to remain optimistic and not dampen my Disney spirit. the room is a little bigger than the other two towers. On the 18th when they drained the Koi ponds I decided that there was no way that it was a premium view. The view of the pine trees is pretty, but I thought is was sad to see the ponds drained. I think it is an inconvenience to have the entire lobby sheet rocked off.
They did eventually put a table near the elevators and are offering coffee.
the walk into the tower is not that great. You have to walk to the front of the tower and walk through a path of sliver construction things. There are workers going in and out, but most of the time they stop to let you walk by. I definitely don't think it is worth paying a resort view price if you are in this tower. There is a wall blocking the koi ponds now. You can't walk through them.
The cove pools closed last Thursday.
The Neverland pool is open and was very enjoyable. There is a bar there that serves drinks. There was a waitress who would bring food over from the coffee shop if you wanted food at the pool. I missed having
crocs bits and bites and the lost bar, but the feel at the pool was upbeat and fun. I just planned on knowing there is no frech fries or hot food.
The construction is going very quickly. I couldn't believe how fast things were moving. I think that being in either one of the other towers would be much better. I don't think the construction would be an issue as long as you know what is closed. The atmosphere is good, but the Wonder tower is a pain. DON"T pay for a view room in this tower. Request to be moved or a credit! I think the hotel is still great, but be prepared for construction. Some mornings they would have certain paths near the wonder tower blocked off for periods during the day, but I just kept telling myself we got $250 back!
I don't think the Dreams tower would be affected by the noise. Downtown Disney was quite crowded and loud on Friday night though!
Just try your hardest not to get the Wonder tower. Personally I feel they should have a construction rate for that tower! I do believe the Neverland pool is still really fun right now, but go in knowing what to expect.
