It would seem to me that if you pay for a resort view room, you would be in the Dreams tower - does anyone know if this is true? Are they lumping in pool view with resort view now? The person I spoke with wasn't really knowledgable about where we would be.

splash5, I know what you mean. Both CM's I spoke to had conflicing info. However, they both had me down in the Dreams Tower. They said room only ressies that upgrade for resort view are guaranteed in the Dreams Tower. The second CM said DTD view is always only a request, but usually works out. Who knows?:confused3 I am paying over 300 dollars more for the possible view of DTD? I sure hope I get it. The first CM that I booked with said I would for sure. That is why I booked it. The second CM said nothing is certain. Leaves you in limbo, and I don't like limbo to much.

I know what you mean. I'm trying to decide if I should call them back and make sure we are in Dreams - If I'm just going to have a pool view, then I don't want to have to pay extra money for resort view/DTD.

We stayed in a room at the end of Wonder Tower that looked over DCA and could see Rainforest Cafe and Matterhorn. Great view of Fireworks. There would not be many of these rooms. Dreams would be your best bet, perhaps a few of the Magic Tower rooms would have views of the DL Fireworks.

I just got back from our Disneyland trip. We booked through Costco. We paid for a resort view. When we arrived we were put in the Wonder tower. my third choice. The lady told me there were not any other rooms available. She actually said I paid for a lower resort view and I was getting the 6th floor, upper view, YEAH RIGHT! The first two nights were okay, the Koi ponds were open and they had different color lights on at night. The third day however, the hotel was COMPLETELY under construction. I left to go to park and came back a couple hours later and the entire lobby had a wall across it! I was really quite annoyed. I had to walk through a construction crew to get into the front entrance. I called and told them I didn't consider that a premium view. The did credit me the $250 I had paid for a view. The Wonder tower has half closed for remodel.

The 4th day I walked down for coffee and there wasn't any! I was really upset and called again and they told me it was in the other towers. Great, so this tower not only gets construction but now doesn't even get coffee! They sent a coffee maker to my room. They then gave me 4 vouchers for Goofys Kitchen for breakfast.

We had a great time, but being in this tower was a pain. They offered to move me for my last night, but that was too late. We had way too much stuff. I had brought a stroller this time. I usually rent. I was very glad. Staying in that tower does require extra walking, especially because you can only get in the front door, you can't enter through the lobby!

I am sure everything will be great when it is done, but the entire middle of the resort is blocked off. they have guards not letting you walk in certain areas!

atomsmom-Great current info. Thanks.
Could you give me your opinion of the Neverland area. Is it still enjoyable, or does the construction take away to much from it? What about noise level?
Does the Dream Tower seem affected by any of this, anymore?
TIA

We were at the DLH from Aug 16-21. I was a little disappointed being in the Wonder tower at first. I tried to remain optimistic and not dampen my Disney spirit. the room is a little bigger than the other two towers. On the 18th when they drained the Koi ponds I decided that there was no way that it was a premium view. The view of the pine trees is pretty, but I thought is was sad to see the ponds drained. I think it is an inconvenience to have the entire lobby sheet rocked off.
They did eventually put a table near the elevators and are offering coffee.

the walk into the tower is not that great. You have to walk to the front of the tower and walk through a path of sliver construction things. There are workers going in and out, but most of the time they stop to let you walk by. I definitely don't think it is worth paying a resort view price if you are in this tower. There is a wall blocking the koi ponds now. You can't walk through them.

The cove pools closed last Thursday.

The Neverland pool is open and was very enjoyable. There is a bar there that serves drinks. There was a waitress who would bring food over from the coffee shop if you wanted food at the pool. I missed having crocs bits and bites and the lost bar, but the feel at the pool was upbeat and fun. I just planned on knowing there is no frech fries or hot food.

The construction is going very quickly. I couldn't believe how fast things were moving. I think that being in either one of the other towers would be much better. I don't think the construction would be an issue as long as you know what is closed. The atmosphere is good, but the Wonder tower is a pain. DON"T pay for a view room in this tower. Request to be moved or a credit! I think the hotel is still great, but be prepared for construction. Some mornings they would have certain paths near the wonder tower blocked off for periods during the day, but I just kept telling myself we got $250 back!

I don't think the Dreams tower would be affected by the noise. Downtown Disney was quite crowded and loud on Friday night though!

Just try your hardest not to get the Wonder tower. Personally I feel they should have a construction rate for that tower! I do believe the Neverland pool is still really fun right now, but go in knowing what to expect.

Great info atomsmom!

Even though our trip isn't until February, I have been waiting for a construction update.

DLH is my first choice for an on-site hotel but the construction has me worried.

Did you happen to take any pictures of the work areas?
