Just back and a warning: Do not trust the park hours on the WDW Resort TV. They were wrong every day. In addition, the hours posted at Guest Services were also wrong and the hours on the WDW info phone line were wrong(and it said to check the TV for the most up to date hours). We only got the actual operating hours by talking to a live human.

Example: Water parks opened at 9 am last week w/ 8 am EMH. TV said water parks opened at 10 AM with no mention of EMH.

Well, MY GOODNESS . . . you'd think they could get that right, don't ya.:confused3

Thanks for the information. It will be very helpful since we are leaving in ten more days! :thumbsup2

I noticed the same thing. That could be the reason the water parks weren't that crowded at park opening time. But it did mention EMH on the specific Sporting Activities pages as they flashed by. But the park hours were wrong on the scroll on the bottom of the page and on the water park pages.

Know your park hours.

I noticed that last week during our stay.

Nice to see you again huey. So, I've been doing trip planning getting ready for our trip. Is it safe to use what shows up online at Disney's website for park hours and extra magic hours as a starting point and then maybe figure an extra half hour earlier for opening?

Hey Huey, how were the crowds?

Hit the "Disney Information" button and get the times from them, they have been pretty accurate.;)

You have to remember, in the summer and in high crowd periods, Disney adjusts their opening hours to compensate. They might make this decision very last minute, like a few hours ahead of time. That does not allow for updates to be made to the resort T.V. and phone info line, which uses info that is programmed in ahead of time.

Disney doesn't do this to annoy you. They change their opening times to better handle the influx of people on any particular day, rather than causing gridlock on the roads/bus system, they might open earlier and NOT advertise that fact on purpose. There will ALWAYS be those who arrive at the park 1 hour earlier than posted opening time, and if they did NOT open the gates/parking lots early, there would be massive congestion.

That is why MOST guide books advise to plan to be at a park 1 hour before the posted opening time. More often than not, the park will be open that hour early.

The resort tv hours were wrong all week - everyday. They were old hours that should have been changed the first week of june that just simply were not updated. The hours that were posted on the WDW website BEFORE I left home were correct. No reason for the TV to be wrong, especially when recorded information on the info line tells you to check the TV for the most up to date hours.

When we were at Pop last Sept. we noticed the hours and EMH postings in the lobby were frequently wrong. Odd, isn't it.

Geez! That's appalling! If Disney hotels can't even give you the correct info, that's pathetic. How hard could it be to record a new message or put current info on the TV?
