Resort to Resort

i'm sure this has been covered many times over the years, but I've never had to do it before and I'm not very good at searching the threads to find the answer.

My question--what is the best way to get from one resort stay to another. I am staying at Old Key West for 2 nights and Animal Kingdom Villas for 7 nights. Is the easiest way to take the bus from OKW to Downtown Disney or to a park and then take a bus from there to AKLV? Or, is it about the same amount of time? I assume taking my big suitcase on the bus is a big no-no? I'm sure they rather I leave the bag with bell service at OKW and they will deliver to AKLV? Or overall is it faster and not that expensive to take a cab from OKW to AKLV?

Sorry, if you have seen this question many times before. Many apologies for that, but any help/information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot take your luggage on the bus.

Bell services will transfer your luggage.

You can look up cab fare at taxifarefinder.com

Here's what I would do: Drop the bags at bell services for transfer. Go do whatever you're going to do for the day. When you're done, take the bus to AKV and check in.

Same thing for dinner.

Let's say I'm staying at Wilderness Lodge and have dinner at Boardwalk. I'd have to transfer to a park and then transfer to that resort.

When we do the TS Plan, we usually rent a car to bypass that and save time

Two years ago we did a split stay and they transferred our bags. We went to the park and leaving road the bus to the second hotel. A few years ago we did a split and road a taxi to POR to meet my son for our stay there.
