Resort stay overlap

We have free dining so I can't do a 'split stay' but if I was to book 2 nights in a deluxe resort as a surprise for my family and not stay in our room in the value resort we are booked at for 2 nights, would this be ok? I realise that I would be paying for both resorts but we managed to get a deal that was lower than originally budgeted for.

Anyone ever done this or have any info?

One of your resort stays is likely to be canceled with the same guests on both rooms.

It is possible they will notice you are booked at 2 resorts and cancel one or both of them. I don't think it is likely, but it is not unheard of.

Can you not tag the 2 deluxe nights onto the end of your trip? Your dining credits don't expire until midnight the day you check out of your first resort, so that would really only leave you without the plan for one day.

i believe if you make an entirely different my disney experience account with a different email, you can. The only thing is your magic bands will not work for everything, one MDE magic band will open one hotel while you would have to use the other that comes with the deluxe reservation to open your deluxe room , your original bands would not work.

I've done this a couple times and never had a problem. I always make the lead person different (like if 1st reservation is under my husbands name then I make the other under my name), but I still include all our names. I do believe we had to use a different set of magic bands to open the doors at the 2nd resort.

Thanks for the info, we can't add any days on as we are coming from the UK and we already have our airfare booked, it is very pricey to change.

I think this is useful advice, I could just make a different MDE. We wouldn't mind having a different magic band to open the door for those 2 days, we are collecting the different colours anyway :)

Thanks :) good to see that someone has first hand experience of doing it with no issues, I didn't want to come back after two days and find we had been kicked out of our room at pop century! I will book it in one of my family members names on a different MDE account to be sure :)
