Resort Souveniers

I thought it would be fun if everyone shared what was the best souvenier to get at each resort!

We will be resort hopping a bit and wonder what we should look for as a distinctive gift from each resort.

I get the same things wherever we go:
Fridge magnet
coffee mug
beer/soda can koozie

DH HATES spending money on souvenirs. Of course, I LOVE souvenirs. So after experiencing a few years of shared souvy resentment in the early years of our marriage, these 3 cheapy items represent our compromise.

I was hoping to be able to get something that is unique to that resort, but having been to only a few of them, I am not sure if there is such a thing at each one.

This is a great question, never thought about it really, but there are 3 things I must have every visit. In order, they are

1. Customized Christmas Ornament (Christmas shop @ DTD)

2. 2 Pens (I keep these for a year or longer so a great investment and no one ever tries to steal them because they are so distinct)

3. A visor for me, and usually a Baseball hat for DH and hats for DS's 4 & 8

I LOVE to buy souvenirs too and am blessed with a wonderful husband that encourages me to splurge on whatever I want...geesh I love this man

Resort Pins. Love them!

When we stayed at the WL we got a snowglobe with the WL in the globe part, it lights up and Mickey, Donald and Goofy in a canoe in the water. It is really cute.
We also got a hand carved statue of a bear holding a fish!

We do the fridge magnets, but when we were at POFQ in April I could not find a magnet for this resort. We even walked over to Riverside hope for just a Port Orleans magnet. Nothing there either. I have Pop and Carribean, I need POFQ.


Any body seen these anywhere?

I always make a souvenir list before our trip so I will not forget anything or anybody. We have 2 disney xmas trees so we always buy the storybook ornaments in DTD and we are looking forward to buying the golden celebration ornaments. Mug, magnets,theme scrapbook, photo album with yr. on it, pretty frame, dd's t-shirt, trading pins, a pack of antenna toppers, this yr. I want to buy a tink frame to put in my tink bathroom and my DH wants to buy some of the mickey white gloves to put in his mickey bathroom!!

For us there are some things that we must get every single time we go:


a new christmas ornament or two for our tree.
Something from Pirates of the Carribean for DH
A new pair of Mickey Mouse earings
A giant mickey mouse shaped Rice Crispie Sqaure from Main Street for my mom if she didnt come with us.

Hubs and boys got me a Disney Character totem pole from WL for my birthday one year. I love it and keep it on my desk

I have seen resort frames, pins and clothing with the resort names on them.

We have frames and pins from the CR and the Poly. Looking forward to shopping at the CR soon!

We like to get ornaments and a beach towel from the resort we stayed at.

My husband always gets the baseball. There is a new WDW one every year or so. When there isn't a new one, he will find one with a different theme. My favorite "themed" one is the Indiana Jones baseball. He also gets a mug from Cinderella's castle. We are working on a full set of twelve.

I usually get a piece of jewelry, a CD, a t-shirt or sweat shirt, and a spoon if they have a new one out.

From Epcot we always get the new Hermann Teddy from der Teddybar since our last name is Hermann!

something my kids started that i think is pretty neat are the pressed pennies. they are the least expensive souvenier there besides the free soap in your room.

I like the ornaments of the resorts. Our last trip we stayed at AKL and bought a beautiful wooden giraffe sculpture and I love to look at it everyday and remember that trip

I know that the WL has a character called 'Humphrey' as its exclusive character... do other resorts have something like that?

DD has started the charm collection this past trip. She has charms from every resort we have been to except the BC. They do not appear to make them.
We will check again on our next trip.

Not that I know of. Several of the resorts do seem to highlight certain characters that go with their themeing. For example, I’ve seen a good bit of Lilo & Stitch stuff at the Polynesian, Brother Bear stuff at the WL, etc.

I am not a pin collector, but I try to get two pins on every trip that I take: 1 from the resort that I stay in, and 1 unique to the time period I was there -- either something with the year on it or a pin for an attraction that is new since my last visit.

I always but a Christmas ornament from the hotel we are staying at. This summer my daughter went down to the WL mercantile and when she came back to the room she said"mom, I saw what you HAVE to buy, a zip front quilted style sweatshirt with the WL logo on it. It was pricey(55.00) but well worth the money. Perfect for throwing on in an a/c theater or rest. and it will be perfect for fall here in Maine. We also do the obligatory fridge magnets and coffee mugs.
