Resort Service Fee?

Hi-

I was reading an e-bay rental. The seller mentions a resort service fee of $95 that Disney charges. I never heard mention of this in all my readings here. Can some one explain, please.

I have read that Disney has charged a service fee for those trading into WDW DVC properties to cover transportation, etc. I cannot confirm this is true, perhaps someone else has additional info.

I don't know how Disney can justify this. Dues were paid on the points used by a DVC member who has traded out to make room for someone to trade in. Transportation and all other costs are included in members' dues.

Maybe it's not a DVC member. Maybe they're trading into Disney and it would be comparable to our $75 fee. ????

That is what I was wondering. We are awaiting ROFR right now on our BWV contract. I just like to know any hidden costs up front. That is one I had never read about. (Unless you were trading out of Disney).

It sounds like they have an Interval trade into DVC and are selling it. I think that might not be legal. At any rate, folks who trade into DVC through II are charged a fee when they check in.

Funny you should bring this up today. I just spent an hour discussing several issues with a couple of DVC execs today and one of the issues we talked about was the $95 fee. As admitted by them, it is essentially a fee because DVC is a premium destination. It also helps to pay for the services where the II members can call for requests and make various reservations through MS. It's not for transportation, that is a long standing misperception.

Diane is right. When you trade into Disney via II, Disney charges a resort fee of $95 that must be paid prior to your arrival.

Diane is also correct that it is against II rules to rent out an exchange.
