We are planning our first trip to Disneyland since 1979 and would like some recommendations on a restaurant at the Resorts. We have been to WDW many times and enjoy places like Artist Point, Flying Fish Cafe, California Grill, and Yachtsmans Steak House. We would like to eat at a similar place at one of the Disneyland Resorts, but can find very little info. Please help!

Go to www.disneyland.com, all the restaurants are listed with descriptions.
I highly recommend ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney. We had a very nice dinner for 4 for $80 with 15% tip. I didn't think that was too bad since we paid $65 the night before for a cafeteria style dinner at the French Market inside Disneyland.
A warning, the portions at ESPN Zone are huge.

If you are used to eating at places like Artist Point and CA Grill, then I would recommend Napa Rose in the GC or Granville's in the DH.

I also recomment the Jazz Kitchen at downtown Disney. Dinner on the balcony with Bananas Foster for dessert ::yes::

Also, though more casual, the food at Storyteller's in the Grand Californian is very good.

We love Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DTD and Granville's and Hook's Point in the DLH.
you have to do The Blue Bayou in DL. The food is just okay, but the atmosphere is wonderful. It is in the POTC ride.

boosmom96 I'm going to try Hook's Point for the fist time (in over 25 trips to DL...never eaten there), any recommendations?

I would also suggest Napa Rose, Granville's Steakhouse, and Hook's Pointe, which would most likely fit in as being similar to the WDW restaurants you mentioned. I think maybe Catal in DTD too, but I haven't been there myself so I can't say for sure.

I agree that if you haven't been to Blue Bayou before, you should try to fit it in. The food is good, but it's not fine dining. But the atmosphere is truly unique. I like the prime rib (I think it has cajun spice) and calamari appetizer. They are known for their Monte Cristo sandwich.

I also second whoever recommended Storyteller's Cafe. While it is more casual, it's a nice atmosphere, and the food there is very good. If you go there, you MUST try the corn chowder! I'm generally not a huge fan of corn chowder, but I ordered it on the recommendation of a GC tour guide, and I was definitely not disappointed! It is the freshest, tastiest corn chowder!

Another place I enjoyed that is more casual is Naples in DTD. Italian food that is very tasty, and pretty large portions. BF ordered a pizza and he only ate half. I had the lasagna and thought it was excellent.

ibounce: when we went to Hook's Pointe, I had the scallops, and BF had some kind of pork chop or pork loin. Both were very tasty. The only small disappointment was that BF's pork was a little too well done so it was a bit dry, but it was SO flavorful! Even the bread there is very good! Save room for dessert...we unfortunately were too full, but we were so jealous of the others around us since the desserts looked so yummy!

I love the Storyteller Cafe! It is on the casual side but you have a choice of buffet or a menu selection. It has a nice atmosphere, very cozy feeling. Napa Rose is more "fine" dining and that is nice too.
