Not sure which board is right for this, but here goes:

Last time was our first trip with the refillable mugs. We dutifully filled them up every morning at our hotel. If we weren't done drinking by the time our park bus came, I allowed DH to carry his on the bus, but I wouldn't permit him to drink it while on there. :) But then as soon as we got to a park, I made him finish it before we got through bag check, assuming that we couldn't bring any liquids inside (other than bottled water).

Is that correct, or could we have brought our refillable mugs into the parks and not have had to rush through our coffee and hot chocolate so fast?

Thanks! (Don't know why I never just asked this while we were there!)

I've seen lots of people taking theres into the parks with liquid in them. Never seen anyone stop them.

We never take ours with us as we like to go bag less and that would just be another thing to carry.

I've got lots of pictures of DS carrying one of our mugs into MK, sipping on hot chocolate.

So . . . I should tell DH that they've changed the rules now! Just so he doesn't think I'm a total nutcase? :)

I guess I should have thought they wouldn't mind if you carried a Disney drink into a Disney park.

>>Sorry I have to laugh at your choice of words. :lmao: We are talking about your husband and not your child right? hahaha :rotfl2:

Yes, i would actually do just that. Just tell him they've changed the rules. :lmao: Although, havent you noticed others walking in the parks sipping drinks from their mugs?? This has been going on for quite some time now. We always walk in with our mugs full. I even have metal canisters filled with water in my back pack. As long as you dont bring glass, they dont care.

If you're bringing in soft drinks and water in non-glass containers, you are fine. You can't bring in any glass, as I've said, nor can you bring alcoholic beverages into the Magic Kingdom.

I ran into an issue trying to bring an alcoholic beverage from Epcot OUT of the International Gateway, even though I was using a plastic cup. They wouldn't let me bring it throught the exit, so I had to finish my drink and throw away the cup before I left.

I did actually choose those words on purpose . . . but I also figured someone would notice them. I made a big deal out of him finishing before entering b/c 1) I really did think that was the rule and 2) if I'd told him he could bring his drink in, and then it turned out that he could not, there might have been a small scene. So, much easier for me to go with what I thought was true and avoid any trouble later. And that's why I said "permit" and "allow" b/c he would have preferred not to have to rush his drink if given the choice. (And I suppose he didn't blame me - just the "crazy Disney people.") :)

Can't say for sure whether I noticed others or not. I still thought it was honestly a rule, so I figured I wasn't going to break it. Just like the no eating/drinking on buses. I see people drinking all the time, but I don't feel comfortable doing that. So we just carry and don't sip.

Next time dump it in your refillable mug....:drinking1

I think the rule is just no alcohol, and no glass. I always take my mug with me in the mornings since I need my caffiene.

One of our favorite things to do at AK is to stop at Joffrey's Coffee Stand right before the AK gates. We get iced lattes, and I pour them into our own insulated cups to keep them cold. :)
