I have been checking rates on Universal's booking website for the dates of 5/30-6/1 (three nights). APH rates are available at PBR at $199/night if I book 5/29-5/30, 5/29-5/31 or 5/30 to 6/1. However, if I try to book 5/29 - 6/1 for the full three nights, no APH rates are available and the lowest rate is $254 (supersaver). My question is.... If I make two separate reservations - 5/29-5/30 and 5/30-6/1, which will give me the APH discount for each night, will we have to switch rooms? I realize we will have to check out and check back in. Trying to add on another night to our anniversary trip!
Thanks!

WHy dont you call them directly and ask.....this sounds like they should be able to take care of it over the phone.

Yes call directly. The website has some definite glitches.

Thanks for recommending that I call! They were able to add the extra night onto my online reservation. I did not need to book it separate. Now I just have to figure out if it is more economical to rent a car and pay for parking or to pay for Towncar/Limo service!

If you are doing any daytrips anywhere off site I would recomend renting. We got one in January of 07 on Hotwire for $11 a day, I forget who it was through, I will have to go back and check but we had our pick of car in the lot.

AAA is cheaper than Supersaver Rate..

2 glitches though.

Must call Universal hotels to obtain AAA rate..Don't provide it on line.

Can't book more than 1 AAA room on same card...Would have to have 2 different AAA membership numbers within same family!!!

Nice though, AAA is qualifying Lowes First Rate!!!

Good Luck...:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I dont know....I was able to book the Hard Rock directly through the AAA website and I booked two rooms.

I hope I am not going to have a problem when I get there as we only have one AAA card. I am not booking the room for a different family, we just dont fit in one room.

Can someone with more experience please clarify this....I cannot show up there and be told I have to pay rack rate for one of our rooms - it is simply too expensive.

I don't know if RPR was supposed to allow this but I have reserved two rooms in the past with a AAA discount. One room was in my name and the other in DH's so at least one adult was registered in each room. We each checked in to each of our rooms separately with no problem. We each have a AAA card with the same member # and were each asked to see the card at check-in. I do not recall that they actually wrote down our member #. Maybe someone else can weigh in on this.

I was told you must need 2 different membership #'s for the same household..

If you find something to the contrary, can you please post....It will save me some bucks and the second room would go toward qualifying stay!

Good Luck!

I have both rooms in my name.....only one AAA membership......

I could have sworn I read on here that you are allowed 2 rooms with the membership.....

When I have the time I need to research because I will not pay rack rate for a second room.....bad enough they do not have an affordable option for families of six but to charge me rack rate for the second room would be totally unacceptable....

I know that on the AAA website it says that you are allowed to book two rooms with one membership. I also heard that if the second room is for your kids, it is allowed.

if you are booking for your family only and need two rooms as you have more than 5 in your family, you will be able to book both rooms on your AAA.

be sure to call and request connecting rooms. or is it called adjoining rooms...... some rooms have doors to enter in the room next to you from the inside.
