resort pools

I do not know about lifts, but the Poly & the Grand Floridian both have zero depth entry pools...very nice ones at that.

We don't want to get me started with my ranting on this subject again do we?!;)

A simple inexpensive pool lift installed at all pools, would help so many disabled persons who are now unable to enjoy some of the resort pools. I can not understand why WDW does not recognize this?:confused3

I think most of the pools use bump steps as their disabled access. Are these any use to you, or not? I know some people don't get on well with them.

Here's a previous thread on zero entry:

And one on bump steps (but also covers some zero entry pools):

Hope they help and I'm sure some other people will be along soon with more information. Good luck! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. but is it up to date? Since the post are from 2001?

It will just take 2 of us to get him in the pool if we use the steps

I know for sure, that the last time we stayed at the Polynesian they had the "beach" wheelchair for the zero entry pool. This pool was very accessible.

At the Beach Club, there is a zero entry pool, but that area of the pool is essentially a just a sand play area for children and only about 2 feet deep. After our complaining about the lack of access in October '06, we have been recently informed that they now have a beach chair. But that is not much help for a grown man who doesn't want to just play in the sand. We have not had any replies concerning our questions about lack of access to the other areas of the pool.

I would think that all of the resorts with zero entry pools now have a beach chair, but I would check on that.
