Resort Parking

We are staying on property still arguing over resort :thumbsup2 but I know we will have free parking. I think I have given in and we will do DXDP which means we will have several early breakfasts at resorts. So I have a question. If we drive to Poly or Contemporary can we leave our car in their lots and then just monorail to the park for a few hours and move it after lunch. I know that it supposed to be 2 hours but do you think if we have a resort tag (from another resort) that anyone will really care?

I do not want to be towed but I figure we are not really breaking the rules since it would be about convenince not saving parking money.

Has anyone done this? Did you have any problems?

Thanks in advance.

Very improper IMO.

Will anyone get this: Save the spots for the law abiding Mouseketeers, citizen. :lmao:

Seriously, we've stayed at Poly and had times when we've returned in our car from someplace and had to ride around and around because we couldn't find a parking space. And we've stayed at other resorts and had ressies for O'Hana and couldn't easily find a parking spot and had to ride around and around. Maybe this is why.

supposed to have a three hour window for a meal at a resort at which you are not staying.

You can pay $12.00 + a tip to valet park if you are planning to visit any of the parks after eating in a resort restaurant, because you are not allowed to take up a self parking spot at any of the resorts and go off to the parks. It's not fair to guests staying there, however when you valet park you aren't taking up any of the regular parking spots.

All the resorts connected to theme parks have signs at the entrance to the parking lot that states they are sorry but they cannot provide theme park parking. Park at the MK parking lot, take the shuttle to TTC and walk over to the Polynesian. Or take the monorail over to the CR or Polynesian.

Another option is to first go to the park and then take a bus/boat/monorail back to the resort for your meal. Then you can return to the park and everyone will be happy.

Yep, that's why. Satellite views on Google Earth and maps quickly show why they can't provide theme park parking. The lots at the monorail hotels just are too small to accommodate what the OP is considering. Remember, people who are just visiting the hotel (ADRs or otherwise) have options but guests staying there don't. There is nothing worse than coming back and not finding a parking spot at your home resort.

Definitely frowned upon. :confused3 I know when we dine at Poly it is one of the hardest resorts to park at. Many times they will check the list to see if we are on it and ask us to drive away slowly so they can note our license plate.

At GF the self-parking is really inconvenient-very far away. If you are dining there you may want to valet it (then you could stay all day I guess) but my suggestion, no matter which resort you dine at, would be to park at the TTC and then monorail it to the resort. If you'll be dining early you'll get a pretty close parking space which will be very nice when you leave the park later in the day/night.

We stay at the Poly and I must admit sometimes it is frustrating to return from a long day at DHS or AK and have to search up and down the lanes for a parking spot. Please do us guests a favour and park somewhere else.

I would recommend parking at the TTC for both MK and Epcot. From there you can walk to the Poly and easily return to the park.
