Resort parking permit question

We have a trip coming in November. My in-laws are staying with us, and are of course listed on the reservation. We will be driving separately, and arriving at different times (several hours apart). Has anyone encountered this situation recently? Is there any issue or problem with us having two cars at a WDW resort? Will there be any problems getting a parking pass for each car? If so, what are the alternatives?

Have never had more than one car at a time at a WDW resort, so this is new for me.

Last month when my parents and I checked into the Contemporary we were given a parking pass at the security gate and another one when we checked in. I am not sure about other Resorts, so if that happens to you then you can give on to you're parents. If you only end up with one parking pass I am sure you could ask for a 2nd one and since you're parents are taking their own car, they would need a parking pass of their own.

We have had no problem getting two parking passes at POR, POFQ, and WL for similar situations (one time DH drove down separately and I already had a rental car and other times my parents came to stay a few days with DD and me -- they weren't even on the original reservation one time and POR had no problem adding them right then).

When you and your in-laws check in, you need to be sure to ask for a parking pass if one is not offered.

It's not a problem no matter what WDW resort you are at. We get 2 parking passes because we always have at least 2 rental cars when traveling with daughter and family. Just ask at checkin.

If your parents' names are on the ressie they will have no problem getting their own parking pass.

About the only place you would have any problem with getting a second parking pass would be at Fort Wilderness where only one vehicle is allowed per site or per cabin.

So what if the person that is trying to get the parking pass (or at least access to the parking lot) is NOT on the ressie? My DD is coming to hang out with us at the park (she lives in Orlando) so I didn't put her on the ressie since she's not staying overnight but it would be nice if she could park in the same parking lot.

You didn't say where you are staying. The resorts on the monorail and the Epcot resorts are very cautious about letting people into the parking lots becuse of the potential for them to park at the resort for free and then accessing the parks. At Coronado Springs, you need a room key to get back to the parking lots except for the check in one up front.

I would check with the front desk the day your daughter is joining you to see what you can do. At the very least, she would just have to park in the self park check in lot. Make sure your daughter has your room number and the name under which it is registered. She will have to show her driver's license and probably have the gate guard write down her car license number when she arrives. But check with the front desk to see what the particular parking procedures are for that resort.

I have less trouble at the deluxes than the values.

if that is a problem just get her a room key. okay forget if you have more than 2 adults on your room if might cost you extra.

where are you staying - DVC resorts don't cost extra for additional adults - okay that is using points but I think using cash it doesn't either?

I would have your DD meet you at your hotel and then you go to the park together since she's in Orlando. This way you are all together.
