Resort only trip advice

DVC members staying at SSR from 9/30-10/4 and only planning to do MK for Halloween party. Other than that we are hoping to relax, enjoy the pool, and do some other non park things that we wouldn't normally be able to do. Any suggestions for us? Bonus points if you have a trip report to link me to

Watch an outdoor movie. You can do this at SSR or go to the Poly or Yacht Club where you can watch a movie on the beach.

Attend the Chip and Dale Campfire.

Do a dinner show like Hoop Dee Doo or MBYB or the Polynesian Luau.

Ride horses at FW.

Take a wagon ride at FW

Ride bikes at FW

Book a character or signature meal

Check out other resorts (we just love walking around and checking out other resorts).

Rent bikes at the Boardwalk or at POR.

Watch animals at AKL and perhaps have a nice meal at Sanaa or Boma followed by night viewing of the animals

Watch fireworks from one of the many beaches.

Find a nice balcony or beach to watch the sunset/sunrise.

Take a super early morning stroll around any resort and take photos.

Bring a good book and find a quiet spot or a nice hammock.




Many of these things are easier with a car, but you can do them without one.

We just covered this list last week while staying at Yacht Club and Boardwalk Inn! I really do like the Boardwalk area.

Last time we booked a late breakfast at FW Trails End, then walked around browsing in resort store, walked over to the horse barns and pony corals, while there, they were getting the ponys ready for Cinderellas carriage. And we love looking at the Clydsdales. Then we walked over to WL via the path and had a drink at the CS, then strolled around lobby, took a rest in the rocking chairs and browsed resort shop. Then we took the boat to CR, to check out their shops, monorail to Poly & GF.

Another day you could do the Epcot resort tour. Ride the Friendship boat and get off at each resort. Have a meal at one of the resorts, stop for icecream at Beaches & Cream or Boardwalk, play mini golf.

Go to DTD and catch the POR boat. I love the make your own pasta bar at POR. See Bob Jacksons show at River Roost.

Rent SeaRaycers at an MK area resort.
