First, I can't believe AAA is sold out of Magic Moments rates for all deluxes except the GF for Dec. 3-10 of 2008! :scared: We got back from WL on Oct. 9 and I thought I'd have no problem booking 14 months out. Boy was I wrong. :sad2:

My agent got back to me today and said she can get us a AAA MM rate for the Contemporary, Dec. 13-20, dining and 6-day hoppers for $3436. I booked through WDW and have a room reserved at WL for Dec. 3-10, same tickets and dining. Total for that is $3782. Room type is courtyard with bunks (that is all they have available).

My question is this: Are the crowds going to be significantly heavier for the Dec. 13-20 dates? We like light crowds, and if the earlier dates (Dec. 3-10) tend to be lighter crowds, I'll stick with the WL reservation I already have.

I've heard the WL is incredible during the holidays. We loved it for our last stay, but the rooms felt a little cramped. How do the CR rooms compare in size? Does the CR have a festive holiday feel in December?

Thanks in advance!
Rachel

I would go with the Contemporary because you have already stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, so it gives you a chance to stay somewhere new and I think the rooms at the Contemporary are simply amazing, especially now since the renovations. I have had a few stays at the Contemporary during the holiday's and I think they do a great job of making a holiday feel.

If you are looking for better more festive Christmas decorations then I would go with the WL. The whole lobby with the giant tree just feels so right for Christmas. I think both sets of dates will be ok crowd wise.

The CR rooms are much bigger and the new renovations are great.

You could stay at the CR and then have a dinner at the WL to take in the decorations.

We have stayed at both. My vote is definitely for WL.

We did not care for CR feel at all, once was enough for my family. WL is famous for beautiful holiday decor and truly provides a homey family holiday setting.

Plus, I do think crowds will be lower earlier in December. We will be at VWL 12/8-12/15.

Good luck choosing!

Thanks everyone! I just looked at the holiday photos of the WL on the All Ears site, and it looks so gorgeous. I think I'll keep that reservation. :goodvibes Our daughter will love the festive atmostphere.

Thanks for your thoughts!
