resort id to board bus?

does each member of your party have to show their resort id each time they board the bus? even childern?

They don't ask for ID on the busses.

Yes, they could and perhaps should check your resort ID, in theory.

In practise, however, guests are seldom if ever asked for ID on Disney buses (I think I have heard of one or two instances). If there were to be widespread abuse of the system (like resort pools for example) and that were having a negative impact on Disney resort guests (again the example of Disney resort pools), they might be checking IDs (as they do on occasion at resort pools).

Years ago they used to check for hotel ID. I haven't had mine checked in at least the last five years.

They used to check ID, however, it was a big guest complaint, so it was stopped. They will still however check ID during peak times when parks reach capacity.

It would be useful to check ID's on the early buses going to the surprise morning (early entry) park. This would inhibit day guests from parking at a resort to try to sneak over to and into the park ahead of normal opening.

I've been staying at WDW resorts since 1994 and have NEVER been asked to show my ID.

This past February the driver was asking for ID to board the bus on early entry mornings, you needed one for everyone in your party except infants.

We were asked once, but they also accepted park hoppers, even though we were going to the Disney Marketplace (back before it was DTD). So we were ok, even though we only had 2 ideas for 4 people. Most of the time though, we just board, and the bus takes off, no questions asked.
