Hi During out next trip my DGF and I would like to spend a day looking around some of the more expensive resorts (were staying at pop), We were just wondering what is the easiest way to do this (we dont have a hire car as im too young)? :confused3

My suggestion is to take the bus from Pop to the MK, then jump on the resort monorail which stops at the monorail hotels (CR, Poly, GF). You could also take a side trip to WL while in the area.

When finished at the GF (or whichever one you do last) get on a bus to the Studios and walk over to the Swan, Dolphin, Y&BC, and Boardwalk.

Good luck!

Bob

We always drive to WL....tour that...take the boat to MK and hop on the monorail....Drive to AK lodge and drive to boardwalk area

Unfortunately Disney Transportation does not go from resort to resort but you can work it out. Using the monorail from the MK to check out the hotels on the loop is a good way to go.

On your Epcot day plan time out to visit YBC, BW and Swan and Dolphin by walking through International Gateway which is located between England and France. That passage takes you right onto the YBC grounds and the rest of the resorts are easy walking distance from there.
You could plan to spend the day in the park and early evening touring the hotels, have dinner on the Boardwalk, then head back to World Showcase in time for Illuminationsand catch the POP bus there.

Other than that, You will find that you will have to use either a Theme Park or Downtown Disney as a Transfer Hub if you do not want to take a taxi. Both of these have busses that serve all Hotels. Be careful of the timing though - busses only run to and from the parks one hour after that park closes. The DTD busses run late every night so that is a safe bet in the evening.

We learned all of this the hard way - by trail and error - wanted to do the same thing see all The resorts without a car. Its a bit tricky but you'll catch on. It would be hard to see them all in one day because ther is no direct route to follow and it will take too long. You are better off breaking it up by area and tackling one area at the end of each day.

As far as Animal Kingdom Lodge - after AK park one day while in that area catch the AKL bus back to check that out. When you are done catch the bus from there to Downtown Disney and you can tranfer to the Pop Century bus there.

To see POR Or SSR you can catch the launch over from DTD and then back to get you bus.

Hope this Helped - good luck! :wave2:

Make sure you book PS's in some of the more intriguing resort restaurants...if you're out all day touring resorts, you're gonna get hungry! My suggestions...take a meal in AKL at either Boma (wonderful buffet style) or Jiko (rated very highly, kinda pricey), and maybe a meal at one of the very good GF restaurants. This way, you can really get a "flavor" of the best resorts! Other choices...Artist Pointe at WL, 'Ohana at Poly, Calif.Grille at Contemporary. If you book the last one right, and get a seat overlooking the water, you can catch the Electrical Pageant on the lake, and stick around long enough for the fireworks over MK!

Thanks alot guys  Were thinking of going to the whispering canyon at WL. WE wont go to all the resorts But I think we'll use DTD as a makeshift TTC  .

For what its worth we absolutely loved Whispering canyon at WL....Wonderful and playful atmosphere....always ask for ketchup...ALWAYS....I was highly dissappointed by Ohana's...Food was not as good as I thought it should be and I am a man who eats only meat no real veggies to speak of....However the service was great and our waitress was wonderful.....Just my 2 cents

Whispering Canyon is great fun - you'll enjoy it. Since WL is on the list - FYI they offer free tours of the resort that leave from the lobby several times daily. If you call the Front desk ahead of time you could plan to take the ferry over from the MK in time to catch one.

We did it several years ago, they took us up onto the roof for a birds eye view of th MK and to the smoke house in back for a free sample of beef. You get a bunch of interesting tid bits like " all the large beams used in the lobby were rescued and recycled from the Mt St. Hellens erruption path" and so on. If the timing works out for you I would put it on the list, but do not make 2 trips.

Have fun. :wave2:

During the day, I would use the TTC as the transfer point because the buses run on a reduced schedule to DTD from 11am to 4pm if I recall. Or use a park for transfer.

Plan your resort hopping to your park days. If you're going to MK, then resort hop the MK resorts. If you're going to Epcot/MGM, then tour those resorts. If you're going to DTD, then take the boat and tour POR, POFQ, SSR.
If you're going to AK, then tour AKL.
