I really used to love PPH. We'd always book a premium view room and had good experiences there. We were really disappointed in our last stay. I didn't mind having to walk to the downtown security checkpoint in the morning at all but I found it really irritating in the afternoon after a pool break. When you're in your room and can literally see that the park is across the street but you're forced to walk through downtown Disney to get there it really diminished the value at PPH. On our checkout day, I had just paid our bill at the front desk for 2 Premium View Rooms. Our bill was well over $2000. We wanted to eat breakfast at Whitewater Snacks so tried crossing the street to enter GCH. It just left a really bad taste in my mouth to fork over nearly $2500 and then immediately be told we couldn't enter GCH to eat breakfast. It felt a little like Disney took my $ and then slapped me in the face with it. I know I'm being dramatic but it really turned me off.
I think Disney could limit access to GCH in the morning when the majority of people would be entering the park and then after 11 have it be for Disney Hotel guests only. I also don't understand why you can't enter GCH for breakfast in the morning. At the Park entrance they could just check hotel keys.
I know the change for PPH guests didn't bother most people on this forum but this is just my opinion.
