Resort Game - Let's play

The original name of Disney's Contemporary Resort was the “Tempo Bay Resort Hotel.”
I don't remember it being called that in the 80's though!
Eeyore0062, I'm also located in southeast VA. Where do you live?

TinkerBelle_325

I think you have got us all stumped on the previous name of the Contemporary, please have pity on us and tell us the answer!

To keep the game alive here is the new question:

Once fully completed, the Pop Century Resort resort will have:

How many pools?
How many courtyards?
How many buildings?
& How many rooms?

JamesD, I live in "Surprising Suffolk", and I must say, it does live up to it's name... just not in a really positive way:( We are hoping to move soon!

The name of the Contemporary was.......*drum roll* (lol)....
The Contempra! Wow I can't believe now one knew. I was 4 or 5 when I visited in the late 80's and that was the name of it

Thanks Tink! You got all of us...

And now - let the games continue:

Once fully completed, the Pop Century Resort resort will have:

How many pools?
How many courtyards?
How many buildings?
& How many rooms?

/
tampafan - I'll give it to ya! There are 8 courtyards.

Now it is your turn to ask a question!

How many foot bridges connect to Ol' Man Island at Port Orleans Riverside?

Trekker - can you take over for me? I am leaving in ten minutes for, you guessed it Port Orleans Riverside for the long weekend. :D  Happy Labor Day to all!!!:)

Good grief, I had NEVER heard that one!!! Must have been between my visits in 1985 and 1993, both times it was the Contemporary. I'm glad they got a clue and changed it back... that name is ... well, I just can't come up with a way to describe it, so let's just say, the Contemporary or even Tempo Bay Resort Hotel sounds better!!... Btw... wonder what happened to the body of water called "Tempo Bay"? Maybe that was the original name for the 7 Seas Lagoon. Just speculation;)

From the map of the resort, I counted 4 foot bridges that cross Sassagoula River. I'll wait to see if I'm right!

looked through all the threads and another ? remains unanswered...which hotel has the Cinderella Castle topiary in the lobby?

< which hotel has the Cinderella Castle topiary in the lobby? >
That would be the lobby of the Grand Floridian next to the cage elevator.

Heh, Eeyore0062! We drive through Surprising Suffolk on the way to WDW!
We live in unsurprising Poquoson, which borders NASA-Langley, where I happen to work. Poquoson is an old Indian word for Great Swamp, and it is! We joke that our official city bird is the mosquito!

Eeyore0062 or JamesD

We need a new question!

The question was from
king_triton2001
Which resort is the 2nd stop on the Friendship Boat coming from Epcot's International Gateway?

It was answered that it was the Boardwalk but thats the *first* stop from EPCOT. The second stop is Y&BC.

OK, here's my first:
What resort has a working jukebox located in one of its restaurants where you can select great oldie songs to listen to while you dine? I'll make it a two parter... What is the name of the restaurant?

I think that is Beaches & Cream @ the Beach Club

If I'm right:

To my knowledge there is only one Disney Resort Pool with a sauna, what resort is that pool located at?

Would that be the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa?

Well, even if it isn't, I owe another question from before, so here goes...

What is the motto of the Polynesian resort, and what does it mean?

I'm not actually sure if there is one at Beaches and Cream (never been there) but that's not the one I was thinking of...
Anyone for another try?
Can anyone say whether TinkerBelle_325 is correct about Beaches and Cream having a working jukebox too?

What happened to the boards last night???
We have three questions outstanding...

To my knowledge there is only one Disney Resort Pool with a sauna, what resort is that pool located at?

What resort has a working jukebox located in one of its restaurants where you can select great oldie songs to listen to while you dine? I'll make it a two parter... What is the name of the restaurant?

What is the motto of the Polynesian resort, and what does it mean?

The first two were answered but not confirmed Beaches and Cream was *NOT* the answer I was looking for (although I can't say for sure that there is not a jukebox at B&C). Is there a Sauna at GF pool? The last one about the Poly is still wide open.

I don't think this is the answer to the Poly's motto but I'll take a shot in the dark... "Hakuna Motata means No Worries".

The GF wasn't the answer I was looking for, has anyone been to the new GF pool? Does it have a sauna. My question is still outstanding

What is the only Disney Pool (to my knowledge) that has a sauna?
