The original name of Disney's Contemporary Resort was the Tempo Bay Resort Hotel.
I don't remember it being called that in the 80's though!

The Contempra! Wow I can't believe now one knew. I was 4 or 5 when I visited in the late 80's and that was the name of it

Good grief, I had NEVER heard that one!!! Must have been between my visits in 1985 and 1993, both times it was the Contemporary. I'm glad they got a clue and changed it back... that name is ... well, I just can't come up with a way to describe it, so let's just say, the Contemporary or even Tempo Bay Resort Hotel sounds better!!... Btw... wonder what happened to the body of water called "Tempo Bay"? Maybe that was the original name for the 7 Seas Lagoon. Just speculation

From the map of the resort, I counted 4 foot bridges that cross Sassagoula River. I'll wait to see if I'm right!
