With 4 adult women (all of us family) and a budget of 150.00 per night for 7 nights, which would you choose and why???

2 All Stars

1 Dolphin (Teachers Rate)

1 Ft. Wilderness Cabin

Thanks for your help and we'll be real happy to hear any other suggestions. I'm leaning toward the Dolphin but will we be too crowded? The extra bathroom at All Stars would be nice but not nice enough to sacrifice the Dolphin transportation and location.

I would choose 2 All Star Rooms. You each get your own bed and you get 2 bathrooms. Plus you'll have more room per person.

Fort wilderness has bunk beds, can you sleep in bunk beds?

Do you want to share beds at the Dolphin? Sure it's better location, but I think 4 adults in 2 beds is crowded.

I vote for All Stars. I think 2 adults in an All Star room is better than 4 adults in a deluxe room.

Hi! I agree with everything schwaa said.
Two of my sisters and I shared a room at WL recently. They are both small (but messy). I don't think I would have survived, if there had been four of us. :D :D

I think that was Fort Wilderness in a cabin, not in Wilderness Lodge.

I think you'd be fine in the Dolphin if you don't mind sharing the beds. The extra bathroom would be nice in All Stars but if you like the location, go for the Dolphin.

When are you going? Maybe you could find a code ? I think moderate rooms are smaller than the Dolphin rooms though. I'm not sure if you could get something at AKL for $150 though I know the rates for Oct - Dec are pretty low.

Karel, Hi! Yes, I know the OP was referring to the cabins and not the lodge. Having stayed at the Dolphin, I didn't find our room there to be much larger than our room at WL, however.

Ditto on the two rooms at the All Stars. If I remember correctly the rooms at Dolphin only have double beds.

I agree with 2 rooms. I stayed at CSR with 3 friends (all women around 40) in 2 connecting rooms last year. It was great, we each had our own bed and 2 bathrooms. I can't imagine all of us in 1 room even if we were family. The cabin would be my second choice, you would still each get your own bed but only 1 bathroom.

Aanother vote for 2 rooms at the AllStar. I think you will have a good time and it will be nice to have your own bed and an bath to sher between 2 is just so much easier.

Just wanted to re-iterate that the Dolphin does indeed have 2 double beds in thier rooms not queens - that could get a little cozy for adults....

With the cheap rates on moderates, a moderate may be an option too. Bigger room, more resort amenities. You can still get 2 rooms and have 2 bathrooms - very important! Just something to think about.

Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to help me sort this out. The majority of you said the All Stars - 2 rooms, which is an echo of what my own mind has been whispering to me all along. We're thinking late March so I doubt there'll be many discounts and even an 89.00 a night moderate would be way over our budget with two rooms. I'll begin reading everything I can about All Stars. I'll read up on the moderates though too (just in case:D )

I would definitely choose 2 AS rooms! I would try to get Music (quieter). Reason is:
1) each person has a bed to themselves
2) 2 showers, 2 sinks, 2 toilets...helps expedite the getting ready process.
3) more privacy, if some want to sleep, and others want to watch TV, talk, etc.

Have a great time:)

I know my opinions a bit different than what you've received so far, but I agree with *you* - I wouldn't want to sacrifice the amenities and location of the Dolphin for the All Stars either. As long as the 4 of you are very comfortable with each other, and no one takes too long in the bathroom getting ready! LOL I say you'd be alright there. I did that last year at the YC concierge with 2 other women, and we had no problems at all.

Judi, Judi, Judi... Thank you for this glimmer of hope (because it's what I wanted to do all along). I don't want to be far from Epcot, don't want our only transportation mode to be the bus. The 4 of us are all really close, we're girl cousins and sisters. If the sisters share a bed and we get one roll away we should be comfortable. I'll go back and forth on this hotel decision a thousand times but I really appreciate the advice. The DIS is such a wonderful place, I've been reading here for years, way before I ever had the nerve to post a message. I'm always so happy about the kindness and concern I read here. Mr. Pete runs a neat, neat place. So many of us get something very vital here. How many of you can honestly say your co-workers, spouse or in-laws appreciate that you have your vacation menus nearly memorized or want your advice on where to dine check in night? We are so lucky to have each other here.

I suggest a test. Get one of your cousins/sisters, go to the mattress store, lay side-by-side on a standard double bed, and see if you can both fit when you roll around and shift. If it works, take the Dolphin. If you're uncomfortable, take the All Stars. And you have to be honest for the test to work!

I too would choose 2 All Stars. We usually get two rooms or cabins for us and our children on our vacations, whether Disney, cruise or something else 2 Showers in the morning or night when getting ready will SO help you, along with the toilets. Also extra sinks to brush you teeth.

I can tell you I am 5'6" and approx. 125-130 lbs and I am not comfortable and never get a good nights sleep if I have to
share a standard double bed with either my 8 or 4 year old. I would sacrifice location for piece of mind and sanity where you can all have time to spread out and relax after a long day at the parks. Spending day/night every day, every minute it would also be nice if you wanted some time to just relax, alone on your bed with tv or book while the others were in the other room before going to sleep.

Have fun with whatever decision you make.

I certainly lean toward two rooms at All Stars. Maybe it depends on how much time you want to spend at the hotel. Dolphin is certainly at a nice location, but if you are not going to be there that much, it really isn't that big a deal.

I am shocked and amazed that noone has said they'd pick the cabins at FW. Although I have not (yet!) stayed in them, I have heard they are rather spacious and the atmosphere at FW is unique and fun. The cabin provides plenty of space to sleep 4, plus you get the added benefit of a kitchen!

Maybe I'm just missing something, but it seems like a group of 4 would have a great time in one of the FW cabins.

In any event, have a great trip.

You might want to check the DVC board and see if anyone has points they can rent to you. If you are there on Sun-Thurs, the points might not be too high. A one bedroom unit would give you a king bed and a queen size sleeper sofa. You could choose between BWVillas and BCVillas. The one bedroom would also give you a full kitchen, washer and dryer, jacuzzi tub, and separate shower.

Definitely 2 All Stars. You will be glad you have two bathrooms & two beds! The transportation at the All-Stars is better than being in the remote Wilderness Cabins. 1 Dolphin room will also be too cramped with only one bathroom. I don't know about you but it takes me at least a half an hour to get showered and ready in the morning. That would definitely eat into your park time if you all had to share one room.
