Resort Drop Off By Friends

Wife and I are spending some time with friends from Orlando prior to getting dropped off at our resort. We are staying at a Skyliner resort and thought about potentially taking it over to the International Gateway to grab some ice cream at the Boardwalk shop.

I’ve gotten dropped off by Uber at the resorts, but never by a “private” car. Should our friends still tell the security person that they are dropping someone off, similar to what an Uber driver would say? What if our friends don’t leave right away? Is there a way that security checks that the Uber leaves shortly after arriving? Or am I overthinking it? I know Disney has gotten more strict to people parking at the resorts when they aren’t guests.

It will be evening, if that matters.

I think that as long as your friends can give the guard your name and room number or tell the guard that you're checking in, you'll be fine. You might be asked for photo ID as well, so I'd have that ready too.

I sometimes see people make mention of having a photo ID. Not clear to me how the guard to the parking area would make use of that.

They seem most likely to ask for it when we’re checking in, as if they’re consulting a list to see whether we’re on it.

Yes, that makes sense. I did have the guard to the SOG entrance ask to see my ID when I walking over to the pro shop from Poly. I have NO idea what he was looking for, but who knows???................LOL.

I've had the Riviera guards check my ID when arriving for a Topolino's reservation.
