Resort decisions...

Going to Disney in November for 8 days and we are currently reserved for a Nemo Suite at AoA. There will be 6 of us. We have stayed at POP three times before and loved it. The kids wanted to try something new though and they seemed really interested in AoA once we looked at other resorts that were within our budget. My 2 youngest are excited the most as Finding Nemo is one of their all time favorite movies. I have heard great things about their food court too. We are only doing the quick serve meal package so will most likely be eating at the resort most of the time. My kids (and me) love the build your own salad option at POP - an option also at AoA. I know that may sound silly but considering half of our party will most likely be eating that option the majority of our trip, it was a big deal to the kids that our resort food court have that, lol. Love that they also have one dedicated bus depot area like POP too. But I was excited for the other food options offered at AoA, the awesome movie themes, different pool, and just trying something different from our usual favorite. I have heard great things about AoA. Yet if we switched to 2 rooms at POP we could save over a thousand dollars. What would you do?? We don't currently have any discounts because nothing is out yet so hopefully something will be offered for our time frame to save some $$ anyway - free dining, room discount, etc. Would you spend a little more to try something new (but with some of the same comforts) or save money and go to the tried and true that you know?? Wasn't 2nd guessing our choice till I saw the numbers.

I'd save the money and stay at Pop. You can still eat at AofA and check out the resort. Request a room in the 60's so you'll be near the bridge. We've stayed at both resorts and I prefer Pop. The main pool at AofA always seems so crowded compared to the Hippy Dippy pool. I did love AofA. I just love Pop more.

Wow that's a big price difference. I'd switch to Pop and just stroll over the bridge when you want to eat at AoA.

I would absolutely save the $1000 and stay at POP. As others have said, you can stroll over to AoA and enjoy the theming and eat in the food court. There is absolutely nothing at AoA that is worth $1000 more than another value resort unless you are looking for connecting rooms and want to guarantee you are all together (which you would be in a suite). Even then, it wouldn't be worth $1000 to me. I would be looking at 2 mod rooms for that price difference. If it were me, I would switch to POP and then wait for any discounts to be released to see if you can get a better price at AoA.

As others stated, it is very easy to walk over to the AOA resort (you could even request to be close to the bridge). That is a big price difference, and if budget has an affect on your trip (for example, if that savings would mean a couple more souveniers/TS/whatever else), I would probably make the change.

yep, I agree stay at Pop and just walk over to AoA if you want to use their food court. That's a lot of money to save.

For that price difference at 2 values, I'd definitely go with POP.
