Resort day pass in PV?

We looked at doing it on our last cruise. Book ahead because some of the resorts can get booked up well ahead of time. A few of the resorts only sell them through the resort pass agencies. Many of them are adults only.

We ended up doing a pass in Cabo instead, as there wasn’t anything “just right” for us in PV.

Hopefully someone with direct experience will chime in.

Has anyone ever done a resort day pass in PV? Cheers!
Not through DCL, but as an excursion on a different line (Princess). It was nice, though the resort was packed. We brought two full coach buses' worth of people, in addition to the actual resort guests. We had access to one pool area (with an adults only pool and a family pool), lounge chairs, beach access, a swim up bar, two restaurants, and a server walking around the adult area taking drink orders.

It was fun, though we only had four hours at the resort itself due to transport time. The drinks at the swim up bar were good, but it was in the family pool and we wanted to hang at the adult pool so we went with the server. She was nice, but it took forever to get drinks so we started ordering two at at time (and even drinking at a slow rate, we'd just about finish the second one when she was coming around again). It was really hard to find two lounge chairs together, and forget about beach chairs/

Not sure I'd do it again, at least not as an organized excursion, because there were so many people and it took so long to get there. If I was picking a resort on my own, maybe.

THANK YOU!!! This is SUPER HELPFUL!! We would be doing it on our own … I’ll rethink since we are only in port from 12:00-6:00.

If your ship stops at Mazatlan, consider doing it there instead. It costs far less and it’s much leas crowded.

One other thing: part of the reason we had to leave the resort so early was because of traffic (according to our guide). If it took us 30 minutes to get there (can't remember if that's the true time it took, but using it for example's sake), our guide said if we left at X time it would take half an hour to get back, but if we left half an hour later it would take an hour. Apparently rush hour is a thing in Puerto Vallarta. I mention that so if you do plan to go on our own, research traffic before you get there, and pad time on your return time just in case (the last thing you want is for the ship to leave without you because you were stuck in traffic!).
