What is the difference between POR and POFQ. Do both have connecting rooms for a large family? And is there a food court in each area? Thanks.

yes both have connecting rooms and yes both have food courts.

POFQ is smaller - only has one swimming pool

POR is larger has multiple pools. POR has a restuarant. both have marinas - but think you can only rent boats from POR.

Yes to both. Theme-wise, POR is supposed to look like Southern plantations and the deep south bayous. POFQ is supposed to look like Bourbon St/Mardi Gras in Louisiana.

POFQ is significantly smaller. It has one main pool, the food court and lounge are both pretty small, and there is one main bus stop. POR is pretty large with 4 (I believe) quiet pools, one main pool, large food court, and four bus stops. POR also has a TS restaurant on property.

When staying at one, you are allowed to use the amenities at the other. Its a 10-15 minute walk along the river between the two.

The big differences are theming and size. POR is very big, has numerous pools, rooms were completely renovated last year, has a counter service restaurant and a table service restaurant. POFQ is small, the rooms are less new and only has a counter service restaurant.

The two resorts are very close though, so you can enjoy the amenities at both. The rooms are the same, just different decor.

We prefer POR. We like the theming better and it just seemed cleaner.

PORS is one of the few moderates that can accommodate 5 guests (providing your 5th guest is a small to medium child lol) The rooms in Alligator Bayou have the small Murphy style bed.

Are there slides at both main pools?

Yes, they both have slides. The one at FQ is not as big and it's more of a slow ride down it than the one at POR. It's probably more suited to little kids or kids that are a bit apprehensive in the water. It is nice that you can pool hop between these resorts...I don't think there are very many disney resorts that allow that.
