Resort Class Could = Fast Pass

Thinking about this logically, Disney wants to get more people to Disney and more people spending money. If they put changes in place, I doubt they would be this extreme. People would be so upset, Disney could never make money on the deal. Maybe not every family spends 20,000 at Disney, but my guess is there are 20 families that spend 4000 or so for every big spending concierge family. I doubt Disney would risk losing them.
That said, I don't think there's anything wrong with offering concierge guests some extra in park perks, god, they're paying a lot of money for their vacation, and really, how many of them can there be?
I am sure they will research and experiment before they change policy.

Honestly, the only distinction should be onsite/offsite. We stay in WL, but I don't think we should have any more perks than a family staying barebones in POP. Once you're staying in Disney, everyone is family. And why should anyone spending a couple hundred more a night in concierge get more perks than me? They're already getting pretzels, bottled water, and chips. ;)

Read what the ebay package consist of... transportation, admission for four and then it goes on to say an All Day Fast pass so that the lucky winner could ride it as many times as they wanted.

I think that Disney guests need more perks. I think it should be evenly distributed though. I always stay on property because I like the special perks that only guests staying on property receive. I don't agree that Deluxe resorts should receive better Park benefits. They are paying to stay in a nicer hotel. (We usually stay in a deluxe hotel, but I have stayed in the value and the moderate resort.)

Universal already has a pay to be at the front of the line system. Maybe that is why Disney is trying to fill all of it's hotel rooms.

LOL!

I haven't noticed anyone complaining about Universal's front of the line pass for guests. Must be because they are only a half days park anyway. Ok, someone did mention Universal. But, there is only a limited number of concierge rooms, so it probably wouldn't be that big a deal. All the tour plans tell everyone to get there in the early am and they don't do that either. So, I guess the time in line is worthless to some people and the people who value time will be willing to spend more to save time. All is fair.
Besides, this is America. If you want more money for your trip, make it.

I *could* complain about it!

Me and dbf took nephews to IOA last July for one day. We waited *forever* on almost everything except the first three rides (we got there at opening) We spent 3 1/2 hours waiting for Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges.

While we were at the front of the line we saw the *same* 4 wet raggedy unsupervised children running off the ride, around to the front of the fastpass (or whatever it's called at Universal where I will never go again) and right in front of the standby people at least 5 - 8 times while we were waiting.

My nephews couldn't understand why they could do that. I explained the principle but it didn't help. I mean, getting ahead once is fine, but them making the standby line stand there not moving at all while these kids went on the ride 5,6,7 times. People were actually shouting at the employees there. It was definitely not arranged fairly. There were very very few people (other than those 4) in the fastpass lane and I think they are trying to send the message - pay more, get more. If people hadn't yelled and been almost abusive, I wonder how much longer we would have been there!

I am certain that Disney would find a fairer way to ease crowds than this debacle. The Disney name is sacred to many people and I just don't think these lax standards and slimy *all about the mighty dollar* attitude would fly in light of all Disney stands for.

Just a quick question. Some of you are saying they could do the Fast Pass on how much you spend. Is that total package or per person broken down.

Okay...what about SOLOS...we can spend way more on a room per person than a double occupancy.

For 7 nights I am paying about $540 at Pop. Put two people in that same room in Pop and they are paying $270 per person. Does that mean I should get more than they do???? So now we should tier each hotel based on occupancy.

I don't have the numbers a standard Deluxe (no view) for the same 7 days with a family of 4...but I bet the per person breakdown on the room would be almost the same as mine for a week. Does that make them better than me. I'm spending the same per person but at a cheaper hotel.

And that's just the room. Let's add the Park tours to that. The fool that I am, I'm taking the $$ I saved on the Free Dining this fall and using it to book 3 in park tours...that's another $300. And if you ever tried to book a tour they ask you want Hotel you are staying at and when...so I am sure it is all linked back for some marketing tool.

So that's about $900 I'm spending in one week and there is no tickets added which are 7 day, park hopper, no expiry.

And unless you charge your purchases on your room or they start scanning room keys how are they going to know how much you spent in the park on souvenirs, snacks etc.

Having said all that, I haven't used a fast pass yet! I have only been once since it was implemented and the park wasn't busy enough to use them..especially since some rides I can go in the solo line..now that was a great idea. But I am sure in Sept I will need to do so.

Well just wanted my two cents to be added. Hope I didn't spark any fires and get into any heated discussions over this. (I'm still new, don't scare me away. :) )

ok ive been reading and had to put in my 2 cents. Fact of the matter is that all companies do this. Look at vegas. the more you spend, the more you get for free. this concept is everywhere. Go anywhere and speak to high management and explain that you want to pay more money for something, (ie any hotel you want to book 20 rooms instead of just one) now you get a discount, passes to a show, free dinner ect. this is nothing new.

Also think of it this way its not even new a disney. If you have more to spend then you have more to get. Ie ive seen rides shut down for a "private event" or main st shut down for VIP shoppiung for Micheal Jackson.

remember if you stay at the gf and spend enough money, shoot you dont even have to get a fp. You can just walk around and get back doored into everything. Strain shootin money talks in this world.

I can understand wanting to chat about this subject. It's interesting and could change the character of our stays in the future. But we really don't know anything. At this point we're just recycling rumors about rumors.

How about the budget guest who has more to spend in the parks because they spend less on the room?
Does the WDC really care whether you spend your money at the hotel or the parks? It's all revenue for the same company...
Personally, I think this is a tempest in a teapot. IMO, it ain't gonna happen.
Funny; I haven't been here in about two years and the discussions are still the same. Even the major players are the same, although I haven't seen anything recent from the 'Baron. :)

Yes we defently need more perks!

Since some Hotels cost more than plane tickets that's where they're getting alot of money.
