I am wondering if I could get some help with my situation. I am planning my summer vacation for this year and have come to a MAJOR decision I have to make.... I can stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a week in the summer and skip my Decemeber week long trip this year, or I can stay at the Value Resorts in the summer and then again in December? I am traveling with my husband and my daughters 5 and 3. Should I splurge on the summer vacation and skip December or should I just do value for both???? Please help!

We loved ASSp, so if it was my family I would go for the 2 trips...O how I wish it was my family!

I would much prefer to do two trips than one, unless you plan on staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge all day, each day. Ask yourself how much time you are going to actually be spending at the resort.

I think I'd go for two trips, too. Maybe you could add one night at AKL during one of your trips, just to experience it for one night. Then you can use all of the money you save for another trip, and still have that great experience!

When I'm at Disney all my resort needs is a bed and a shower. I spend all my times at the parks.

I vote for value resort and 2 vacations. ;)

Last time we went to Disney we stayed at AKL for one night and then moved on to PC. One night was not enough. Two would be better. Just because no sooner are you arriving then the next morning you have to leave. It is not hard to transfer hotels even if you don't bring a car. They were great. Took care of our luggage and all. Took a bus to AK then to PC. Checked in and went to the parks for the day. Got back to PC and our luggage was there waiting for us. I would suggest two nights at AKL. (Make sure that you eat dinner at one of their resturaunts. We had the buffet at Boma. Can not say enough!) Then move to a value. Two vacations sounds great if you can swing it that way. I was dissapointed that they did not have a second night available to switch us once we were there. AKL is quite an experiance - one I wouldn't miss. BUT we really don't spend all that much time in our room when we are there. Either way have a great time!

IT really depends on how much you plan to be in the parks vs at your resort. We stay at a value because we want to get up early and go to the parks. Sometimes we brought our kids back for a nap (just really a need a nice bed for that) and then we were off again until late that night and we pretty much came in, grabbed a drink at the food court, and went to sleep.

That said, I would definitely like to experience one of the Deluxe resorts for a night or two, but if this is your first trip, I would wait and see how you "do" the parks and then decide to try one for the next trip.

I loved pop centry. I'd go for 2 trips as you most likly won't spend all day in the resort. The rooms at pop were clean and enough room. The pools were clean and the staff polite.
