Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Well I was just on their a few minutes ago and saw the site was back up, however it's still showing as Magic Your Package and that means nothing was fixed.

It's also not a problem with my computer because I cleared all my internet files and a few days ago somehow my computer got a virus. Well I finally got it back earlier today, so when it got fixed you think that would have fixed any issues it might have had with the WDW website.

I just tried and it came up as a room only special and let me go through the process this time without a hitch. :confused3

Geez, sorry you're having such a hard time. That side can be a pain in the neck for sure.

MAGIC...itis! :welcome:

So glad to have another RCer on-board!! :goodvibes

I seriously considered buying into DVC, but I did not like the resort available at the time, did not like the yearly dues, no daily housekeeping and a few other reasons, but a HUGE reason is that I'd not be able to change resorts when the mood hits. Usually, when I first book, I feel sure that's the resort where we'll stay...but the more time I have between booking and the trip, the more changes....too much time to think about my fave resort, or which one we've not stayed at in a long time so maybe it is time to back....or it's the holidays and I love such and such lobby during the holidays...then oh, no, I really want to save money and stay here...then, well, if I put money aside and am careful then I could stay here...and on and on it goes...

I couldn't have said it any better! :goodvibes

MAGIC...itis! :welcome: WELCOME! :grouphug:

Sending lots of prayers for your little Gracie!

The wdw site came back up for me, but is giving me problems with my dining! :headache: Trying to decide where to eat or not to eat in the MK before MNSSHP. Any ideas?

WDWKOOK-how impressive for your DD! I live near a German community in TX~lots of great German food, etc. Fredericksburg.

ClareH37-no reasons necessary, lots of positive thoughts for a wonderful vacation this last time. I went through a travel hiatus many years ago. God bless you!

And the GF is a fabulous place, I don't care what that "other thread" is saying. ;) We've always received top-notch service and accommodations there. I remember one time the new flat screen tv wasn't working, called the front desk and the maintenance man came in and fixed it. Still didn't work properly. We went through 3 maintenance men before that tv got fixed but it was finally repaired by the next day. We remained calm and even laughed about it, we were at Disney! LOL They even offered us a night comped!
I truely believed it's all about having a positive attitude. :cloud9:

I am so glad I found you ladies! You are so down-to-earth! :grouphug:

You ladies are such a bad influence on me ;) I've changed my last 2 nights again :lmao: Now staying at the GF in a theme park view room, will spend quite a bit of time being pampered at the spa, and currently thinking about V&As for my last night's meal, although not 100% on that one yet.

Do I think this is it? Well, yes re. the GF, if a RPC theme park view room opens up then it might not be the end of my changing, but I really do want the theme park view so if RPC isn't available I'm happy with a non CL room.

I'm now finally feeling the 'magic' re. this trip, it's going to be special as (for personal reasons) it's going to be my last for quite a while.

This thread is a bad influence, I read about the Poly and dream of watching the fireworks from the beach then someone mentions CR and I long to lay on my bed and watch the fireworks and Cindy's castle, and then someone post pics of GF the resort I oneday plan to stay at and I about lose all control but luckily for DH online reservations was down when I went to check.

Congrates on changeing your last two nights to GF I think it is a good move :thumbsup2

WDWKOOK, that is awesome!! I hope you'll share her morning with us! I didn't know you were born in Chicago - me too!

Oh.My.Gosh. All this talk about GF - I LOVE the GF!!! Though have never done CL and if I did, not sure which... not sure I'd like being in the main bldg, but SL does not have the best views and for that kind of money I want the BEST view!!:rotfl:

Thank you for the sweet thoughts for Gracie - we went back to the Vet this afternoon for more fluids. If she could just eat, I think she'd feel much better. One med builds her appetite (valium), but the heart med does just the opposite. Just like people. She wants to be with me, but I care for my DGD during the day, so the pups stay in the home office with DD. She is such a sweetie.

Me thinks I need to make a ressie just to have one to change.:rotfl2:

I love all of your changes and cannot wait until the actual trips to know where you will rest your heads at the end of each day.:thumbsup2

I am so very sorry to read about Gracie sending her prayers and a  for both of you

I couldn't have said it any better! :goodvibes

I am so glad I found you ladies! You are so down-to-earth! :grouphug:

It's a small world (tee hee), we've been stationed twice in San Angelo and have been to F'burg many times. You are so lucky to live in the TX Hill Country and I so miss it! Yes, it is a German town complete with the Nimitz (Pacific War) Museum! I envy you living out there:goodvibes. Being a 3-day drive from WDW is the only negative. We're glad you found us, too:grouphug:. We try and not take life too seriously.

How about LTT for your MK ADR? The dinner buffet is served family style at your table and it's like a homestyle Thanksgiving dinner. Or what about TTS? The Chocolate Bomb is a very yummy dessert:

Bad influence? Us? If it makes you feel better, you can blame us. The messanger always gets blamed:sad2:

Well, you might just have to do what I did and book both the CR and the Poly or the Poly and the GF like pas130 or the CR and the GF like...

Lillian Gracey So glad you approve of my approval! :rotfl2:

I'm still not ready for marriage:lmao:

kaffinito I'm so glad I ordered another one! DH won't dare throw this one away since other than Toy Story 3, the ONLY DVD that stops temper tantrums

:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Minnie&Nana I'm so sorry to hear about your fur baby! I really hope she has many more happy times with you

kaffinito-Isn't that RPC deluxe queen da BOMB? Now you know why I was all knotted up over it? And they're only in the main building, darn it.

And getting the bounceback is the only way it's really affordable for us. I've only been able to find that room with an AP rate or a BB, never rack rate or other discounts, go figure. Now, I know nada about DVC points...so that'll be so cool if you can use them on that!

:guilty: Well you can't really.... Read my response to Magic...itis below... :guilty:

Ahem... Anwho - I wish that room was available in Sl or anywhere else at GF. It's a beautiful room!

I can only afford GF or CL with a discount too. :goodvibes

Wow. I see that I am a couple years late on this thread, but I sure hope to join in anyway. I, too, am a resort changer. It has taken me some time to admit...but there it is.

So for our upcoming trip in August, we've gone from BWI to split YC/BWI to YC. Only three changes, not so bad considering other year ressies. We thought we were done, but one additional change has been made... to CBR. We all decided on "down-dollaring" our trip due to family that could better use this extra money during a rough time.

We've always done resort room only purchase with FL res rooms & FL res AP tickets. But I see lots of DVC points & trade talk for CL rooms and am curious. I will try to research further or if anyone can point me in the direction of a good site (or thread) to get started with DVC.

Thanks again for a great thread!

Welcome! and Oh no! I gave totally the wrong impression! You can't really do any of those things with DVC points, but my DH thinks you can. Get the picture? :teeth: What he doesn't know won't hurt him ;)

He only thinks we're staying on points, so that way I get to go on my little trips. If he knew how much money I've spent on CL stays he'd probably shoot me! :scared1:

I hope you enjoy hanging out on our little thread, and I also hope that the debacle of the FD promo isn't still on here. :guilty: It was a little embarrassing when I forgot what my dates were. Or which resort I had booked... :rolleyes1

This is a great thread, filled with WONDERFUL, understanding people. I can't help much with DVC stuff, as I no longer am a member, nor have I rented points. But I too have always been a "resort changer" and I thought I was alone before finding this thread.:confused3 I have to say I was welcomed with open arms: Wow, reading from the beginning. I am impressed:thumbsup2 I am sure your August trip will be AWESOME. I look forward to hearing more about it.:)

Ditto from me!

;) And we all have our little ways to get around our DH's, don't we? :upsidedow

I know, but it's so worth it! I hope I will love the GF as much as I love the GF thread...I have a feeling I will:lovestruc

It really is as nice and as friendly as its thread.

It's too bad it will be your last for a while :sad1:

If it will be, then definitely go for V&A! I don't know if you've dined there or not before, but if you haven't, it's an out of this world fantastic experience!

I just tried and it came up as a room only special and let me go through the process this time without a hitch. :confused3

Geez, sorry you're having such a hard time. That side can be a pain in the neck for sure.
It's not a big deal since we were able to get the 35% discount for the Boardwalk Inn and Beach Club when they were previously offerings the same exact dates. So last week when I found out the same dates were being offered again I was surprised and wanted to see what was available. Although I guess it's meant to be that we will keep our reservation at the Beach Club. Now I realize we can also call the Disney Reservation Center, however if we don't plan on switching resorts there is no point in making a long distance call and saving that $.

kaffinito-... but my DH thinks you can. Get the picture? What he doesn't know won't hurt him ;) ...And we all have our little ways to get around our DH's, don't we?

Ohhhhhhhh, I see we ARE a like-minded group! party: Tooooo funny! I'll get the wit down in no time!

Minnie&Nana-

Well put, Minnie&Nana. I was unaware of the no change DVC policy. No, no, no... I could never DVC if I can't make changes. Like you I have likes, dislikes, whims, fancies, moods, traditions, budgets, and more that must be abided. And the planning is 51% of the fun in my opinion. ::yes::

All this GF talk reminds me: Back in 2008 I took my Mom & Dad to GF (on a FL Res 40% room only discount) for Mom's 65th b'day complete with a fireworks boat ride to top off her night. It was during the worst of the recession for FL, so due to low volume in early June we were magically upgraded from std CL to one of the CL "hexagon turret rooms" as I call them (to the right of the main entrance with a view of the pool & wedding pavilion). It was truly a memory we will never forget. :lovestruc Mom still proudly displays her "white chocolate" Mickey that GF sent to her room with b'day wishes. Nowadays my regular traveling peeps have no interest in GF (they all say :snooty: but I've NEVER encountered that vibe), and DH can even figure the price of THIS resort (ooops!), so I may have to go it alone when I get back there again. Anyone considering GF should just do it while the opportunity is there because the opportunity may not come around again.

Checking in with my favorite DIS bunch! I'm only working 2 days this week instead of 4, so I just need to get through today and I'll be off tomorrow and Friday and work on Saturday. Not too shabby!

I'm trying to keep up with everyone's switcharoos and my head is spinning! I'm still at Poly/GF but my ADR is playing the change game. Now I'm considering throwing in a WCC lunch or dinner just for fun. I need to stop watching all these food shows on Travel Channel. Isn't it funny how I can make things totally unrelated to Disney somehow relate? ;)

pas130: I can't recall whether there are showers, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing them in the bathroom. Definitely the IPO could tell you.

Oh, your MIL is German? Does she still cook German food? My mother was from Belgium, but my father's relatives are all German, but he and I were born in Chicago (DD was born in Korea:upsidedow).

Are you 100% recovered from your ailment:sick:? I hope so - you had us worried!
MIL isn't much of a cook BUT her Mother-AKA Oma still cooks  And she had a stroke 10 years ago. Amazing:thumbsup2 And I AM back to normal, my normal anyway:rotfl:

;) And we all have our little ways to get around our DH's, don't we?

Miss ya girl:hug:Everything relates to disney....my boss now uses Disney to get me to stay OT:lmao: Jeanette, you have to have vacation Money.....low blow:rotfl:

Hi everyone! I'm a new DISer and I found this thread and it describes me to the tee. For this coming trip... first was going to do AK. Then WL. Then CSR. Now CBR. Might change back to WL if we are able to shake some money off the money tree I'm trying to grow in my backyard ;)

And ADR's? Don't even get me started! Lol happy I found this thread though, so know I know I'm not alone in my indecisiveness!

Oh, goodie! Another RCer!! :welcome: You will fit right in.

So nice to see you disneydreanin247! Glad you are only working 2 days this week - working does get in the way of thinking about resort changes.;)

Kaffinto ~ you are wonderfully clever and what DH doesn't know, certainly won't hurt him:rotfl: Especially since he doesn't even like Disney!:sad2:

Hi Katie Collette. Welcome. I too found this thread filled with kindred spirits just this week. Lots of catch up to read here.

My personal meandering string of ressies finds us ending at CBR, too, in August... so far. :rolleyes1

I'm right there with you on ADRs, too. I need a 12-step for that little problem as well. I have to find a thread for my compulsive ADR-ing, too! DIS may have fixed that for me, though. Starting June 1 DIS is cracking down on multiple ADRs at same time of same day. I'd usually do two options a day (one for rainy day scenario out of Parks, and one for nice weather in Parks) but I'd always cancel the unused one. Now I'll just need a bigger poncho and some good luck!!! :lmao:

Yeah I know. What's really bad is they have 3 of us now (because of our girls trip:lovestruc) Not that I can't use the money, but I'm tired:surfweb: I think you did congratulate me, but it's all good...I can do another GF dance:dance3::dance3: can't believe it's less than 6 months already:cool1: And I have my first Poly stay in August:cloud9:

I keep forgetting you're in TO :goodvibes Did I mention I have a lot of relatives there? My DB and I are the only Americans in the family.

I've been checking for you, and so far no CL rooms have opened up. But they still have that GW GV room...

I do the same thing! I need help with the ADR's usually. :upsidedow But this time it's a little different, I don't have many ADR's at all, and am planning to wing it for most of the trip. :) So far I only have Yak and Yeti, Teppen Edo for Ben's birthday dinner, and Jiko.

Glad you're not working much this week! :goodvibes

Would you care to share that money tree of yours? :rotfl: I need some of that $$$ so I can try to book that Deluxe Queen Room at GF RPC :teeth:

Kaffinto ~ you are wonderfully clever and what DH doesn't know, certainly won't hurt him:rotfl: Especially since he doesn't even like Disney!:sad2:

Spent all last night and this morning (when I should be playing with Sophia) looking at B&B's.

So my RCer's, I fear being a changer effects my other trips too... I've no idea where to stay!

To true about DH! I still have to get that DHDH thread started, especially now that I go moderator permission for one. :rotfl2:

WCC is so much fun and it allows you to do a little resort hopping and boat-taking;). And, those milk shakes are all-you-can-drink:drinking1

You've found your new home and may I be so bold as to suggest a split-stay?

But this time it's a little different, I don't have many ADR's at all, and am planning to wing it for most of the trip. :) So far I only have Yak and Yeti, Teppen Edo for Ben's birthday dinner, and Jiko.
Wing it?:scared1: You want to end-up at Morocco and China for all your meals?

Now, if you're winging it because you're doing mostly Quick Serves, then I understand, but are you sure you don't want to make some just-in-case ADRs?

 Hi, Hannah, Christine, sjs314, CRRF4L, stepdisney and pas130 (sorry if I've omitted any RCs:flower3:).

Some of DD's German immersion classmates shook hands with the President and Chancellor yesterday and DD instead stepped back away from the crowd and stood near a shady tree where it was cooler and quieter. Club Cool is one of her favorite stops at Epcot:laughing:

I think you mentioned that when I saw you last August.

Thanks for checking and like I said before I guess it's meant to be that we will keep our Beach Club reservation and if we really wanted the Grand Floridian we could have reserved Sugar Loaf back in March, however instead we choose the Beach Club.

I've never had a problem with walk ups :rotfl: Even O'hana I usually do as a walk up. :thumbsup2 I might make one more ADR for either Boma/breakfast or CMC. :)

Did your DD have a good time? It must have been neat being so close to the President. :goodvibes

And I agree with her on Club Cool. :) Have I mentioned my addiction to Beverly?

You're right, I did. Sorry, I forgot. :goodvibes

Beach Club is nice and at least you won't have much of a move to make - since you're first part is at BWI. :thumbsup2

Well after we check out of the BWI we are not planning to check-in right away at the Beach Club. We are planning to visit Downtown Disney for a few hours which is what we did last year during our CR/BWI split stay. I know if our room is not ready they can text us when it is, however assuming it's not we would rather get to Downtown Disney a lot faster and check-in later.

You're really brave with the walk-ups, Karen. I've never been so bold and spontaneous at WDW:rotfl: (OC planner;))

No, DD didn't really have a good time. It was hot and there were hours of waiting around and she couldn't see very well. Watching it on CSPAN was more enjoyable. Neither DD nor DH are thrilled when they have to go to the White House, it's a lot of rigmarole.
