Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Oh, no, it is not silly at all. That was my first plan too - but then the first time I bought one, I saw a child with his parents who looked just the right age to enjoy a balloon. It did take a LOT of courage to walk up to the parents, but I did it and they were so kind and the little boy was thrilled! I gave it to the parents and they gave him the balloon.

I still might just release one some visit. Do whichever feels right at the time. You will likely walk away with some tears, but it will be okay.

I understand about the HDDR - there are places I still cannot go at WDW too.
:littleangel:

I fully expect to be walking around crying there will just be so many places that will trigger the flood gates to open I am sure.

I'm so glad today is over. It was just awful at work today. I'm gonna watch a Disney movie in German to make me feel better. Too bad I can't switch a resort to help make me feel better. :rotfl:

Can you book a room and change it later? I was so depressed last year the morning we would have been flying down to Disney had we not had to cancel that I booked our trip, of course I changed it about a dozen times in the next months but I felt good that day after I had a new reservation for this year :rotfl:

:rotfl:Rosie (englishrose47) is the wild one - she LOVES being the center of attention and never feels embarrassed. I, on the other hand, would rather hide behind a tree. Never want to be the center of attention, or any attention for that matter! For instance, when Rosie and her family ate at PT she did everything possible to get herself put in the corner. I've eaten there twice and do not enjoy the antics....it will not be on our list.;) We are as different as two people can be, but we've wanted to do a trip together and since we both turn 65 in 2012 (March for her, November for me) we thought it would be a fun trip. Hence the "Wild Nana's". She would have had "Grannies looking for Hot Italians"!!

Yes, I am thinking of renting points from a friend, but she does not own at BWV so we may not be able to get it...so my plan is to book it with a code and hold it until we know if my friend gets it or not. DVC feels SO limiting for someone who is not quite sure which resort until I have to make a final decision.:thumbsup2

Don't think I've met a dessert I don't like either...unlike you, it's quite obvious! :rotfl:
Hot "I-talians" huh? Well, I know this quaint and cozy little place in Epcot called Tutto Italia and I think you guys should book a birthday ADR there::yes::

Now that picture was just plain mean at first - until I realized that you were right! :thumbsup2

I don't need to book at Boma at all, I can have all-you-can-eat Zebra Domes and my quinoa for breakfast if I stay CL.

So I am staying put. Zebra Domes here I come! Now if they would just install cabanas there I would truly be on :cloud9:

YOU CHANGED TO WL! Yeah you! :dance3: I know how much you wanted it at one point - I'm very happy for you!

Thank you for understanding how excited I was when the CM said there was availability with my pin. I still think they talk about "all of us" (especially that pas130;)) in the break room.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:That's awesome:thumbsup2 Contagious, maybe, but I think we are just so much alike!!!!Glad you're back at WL:cool1:
Thank you, we're glad to be back there, too. This trip will be a carbon copy of Christmas - CR and WL:goodvibes. Do you find it ironic that we both are back to our original booking and you're back to Poly which I just canceled and I'm back to WL which you canceled last month:rotfl:.

It did! I watched Alice in Wonderland of course. It always brightens my day. I love the German versions just as much as the originals. :lovestruc You DD is the coolest person ever! No one around here learns German. It's always either French and Spanish. :sad1: They are missing out on such a wonderful and beautiful language. All I hear is how ugly it is. :sad2:

She is so lucky that she will get to go to the White House for such a special event! When I was in high school, we watched The Lion King in German class because we were doing a unit on animals. It was awesome!

Yes, DD is lucky she was able to attend the only German immersion elementary school in our county, but now at 12, she doesn't always realize that and of course she thinks she's cool and mom is majorly uncool. She's even uninterested nowadays when I talk about our trips to WDW - now how uncool is that?! At least DH indulges me:love:.

My father's family in the Chicagoland area (Oak Lawn and Skokie) were all German so my mom, who was from Belgium, never had anyone to converse with. She should have gone out west where you are!

Now you made me cry! Happy tears. That is sooo sweet. Aw....just so sweet....I am going to release one and gift one next trip...this will become a new tradition for our RC Angels. Thank you for thinking of ALL of our RC Angels!! So so sweet.

This is my total happy place. Everyone on this thread is kind and understanding. :grouphug: I see too much tragedy, because I work in a ER, and it really keeps me grounded. My DH and all my babies are truly all that matters to me. Truth be told, many of you here are my extended family:goodvibes It's my honor for you ladies to allow me to pay tribute to your sons. And I like to teach my children about the angels around us, I know my daughter Madison would love to send a balloon up to Toby  I am sorry to be so sappy and a little off topic, but so many people close to me have lost someone special this year, it scares me. But I try to find comfort that they live on, watching and protecting us.

What a lovely gesture, pas130. I don't know how you make it through the night with all you see at the ER. You're so brave and giving. It takes a very special person to be able to give so much to others in need and then switch gears and take care of your (large) family. You are an amazing multi-tasker:worship:

You guys are all very special Resort Changers.

Good morning changers. Just changed my resort yesterday to YC. This may be my final change. I had a change of dates because of a 3 day teaching requirement in August.....Really but a huge change in our plans. I tried to get my dining deal starting on the 17th but cannot because it doesn't start until the 19th. DH said that we would not go without some sort of deal and I can't find one. We are now staying earlier and will be at Universal for an additional 2 nights if I cannot find a discount/code/reasonable rate, etc starting on the 17th. :guilty::sad1:. I'm trying to keep calm because my DH said "lets just go somewhere else this year.....:scared1: Emergency intervention needed. Any good deals out there which would include dining, tickets and room? I really want to stay at YC/BC/BWI......;) My CR reservation is loooong gone. I am booked at YC now but only for 4 nights (may have to change to 3 if I have to return by the 23rd.) I am rambling because so much has changed.....too much...even for a resort changer.... We were originally booked from the 19th until the 25th.....May have to be back by the 23rd, dining starts the 19th....

HELP!!!!!

The new offer Disney just release earlier this week runs from 8/14 to 10/1 or is there no availability for your resorts and dates? Good Luck

***** I know it only lists WL and AKL for deluxe resorts but I just checked YC for your dates and it comes up with availabity for room with the discount not sure about BC or BW did not check thosehttp://bookwdw.reservations.disney....mo&promotionCode=fy11q4room&market=fy11q4room

I'm glad you said "may be" our final change..."let's go somewhere else":scared1: See sjs314s info below.....We will figure this out:goodvibes Is school done for you now, so we can devote time to Vacation obsessing:thumbsup2 As of now all three-YC/BC/BWI are available 17th-23rd (diidI plot the right dates) it's room-only discount, but you can add tix and DDP to make the whole package. Good luck!

After I switched from YC/CL to Poly/CL back in March, we decided not to tell DD and surprise her instead. She never knew about the Poly until I switched (back) to the WL/CL a few days ago. I was really worried that she'd be disappointed that I switched from the Poly, but instead, she was disappointed that we weren't staying at the YC/CL:lmao:

Yesterday, DD asked why we weren't still staying at the YC/CL (remember, she didn't know I had switched back in March:rolleyes1). The YC was the last resort (other than the CR) that DD knew about and she seemed happy with that choice. She hasn't been overly enthusiastic about this trip which I chalked-up to her being a tween:snooty: and the fact that she spent 22 nights at WDW last year. So DH and I sort of ignored her on the topic of resort choices and didn't ask her anymore.

So it seems that DD did care about the resorts and did want to stay at the YC and her lack of enthusiasm about other resorts was because she was only excited about the YC:upsidedow

DD and I did stay one night at the YC/CL last August after 3 nights at AKL. We were booked for 8 nights, but after one night, I missed the CR and we switched to the Atrium Club. DD would have stayed at the YC for 8 nights and had no complaints at all. I really didn't have any complaints either, I just missed the CR. At the time I switched, I didn't know we'd be staying at the CR right before Christmas so maybe I wouldn't have switched had I known that:confused3

If we do stay at the WL for Christmas, then there's really no need to stay in August, too so switching back to the YC makes more sense:confused3. I really don't know what to do, DH says it's up to me and when he knew about the YC/CL (and the BC/CL prior to that) he was very happy with those choices (remember jogging around Crescent Lake?)

I tend to agree with you that since you will be at WL for Christmas change back to YC for August then your DD can enjoy SAB during the summer

Here's what popped out at me: "IF we do stay at WL for Christmas"....now, I know you were thrilled being able to get back to WL/CL, but being an official RCer, in the long run this means very little for most of us.:rotfl:A change is but a thought and phone call away.;)

So, if you do stay at WL for Christmas it does make sense to stay YC/CL in August...but...will CR be calling you name again? Do you think it is realistically possible to commit to YC and stay there for all the ngts? What about a split stay between YC/CL and CR Atrium Club? Then your DD would have her time at YC and you would know you'd be moving to CR.:thumbsup2

Today I awoke thinking maybe I should go to Europe (Germany/Poland/Austria) in 2012 instead of WDW. :teeth: Of course, Rosie wouldn't consider such a trip, so I would join a pilgrimage. I'm sooo confused....oh, I would not ditch Rosie though...but maybe keep the Disney trip to bare bones. Yeah, sure, I could do that.:sad2:

I guess the problem is that I don't know for certain whether we'll go back at Christmas or not. And when I told DH my rationale, he asked why we just couldn't stay at YC for Christmas - argh. Thank you for your opinion:)

Yep, you nailed it, it's an IF - IF we go at Christmas. Even if I did switch, CR would have to remain first in the split because there isn't availability the second half of our split.

You're so right about changes. I LOL when I think about how excited and sure I was about every single change. Silly me. But, I've never wavered on the CR. That's never changed and I've never changed it in the past.

I like the idea of the bare bones WDW trip with Otherwildnana and the trip to Europe. Or could you do a non-bare bones trip in '12 and Europe in '13, maybe even with Otherwildnana?

Ahh...I didn't realize the Christmas trip is an IF.:thumbsup2 I'm always very excited about every change - heck, it's park of the planning for me and half the fun. We had many years when I never even considered a change, but now that I've stayed at most every resort, I want to stay at certain ones for different reasons - you know how it goes.

So, in August, you'd stay at CR CL first then end with YC CL? Sound slike a plan - although I'd keep my fingers crossed for being able to switch to CR last - perfect way to end the trip. ::yes::

Thing about a bare bones WDW trip, is that I would do it renting points, no dining plan...but Otherwidlnana loves the DDP and I'd not want to take that away...after all, it is her birthday celebration too!:thumbsup2

For Europe, I would join a pilgrimage because I've visited many countries with my family already (on our own) and a pilgrimage would go to some of the places I'd like to see all in one trip. Usually, most are not ugly Americans because it's a pilgrimage, rather than secular tour - though I did go on a pilgrimage with a very ugly American in our small group - an older guy, screaming at the poor clerk in the Umbrian Hills because the clerk did not accept American $. We also arrived just before the Iraq war when Europeans were not thrilled with Americans...sigh...add the nut with us complaining the entire time...oye...what an experience!! That was my first trip to Italy in 2003 - 3 mos later I returned with 2 friends. I made all the arrangements - air, Pensiones, train...it was wonderful! I came from Boston, one from NY and one from LA - I managed to get us all on the same flight to Rome and with excellent fares. :thumbsup2

Sorry...I digress...so easily....:rotfl:

p.s. I like your idea of WDW in '12 and Europe '13. Disney isn't until Dec 12 and I'd like to visit Austria/Germany/Poland in the warmer weather. Thanks! Oh, and also must sqeeze in a family WDW visit for DGD's first trip when she is 4, which will be 9/12! :teeth:

Well....remember first that you are talking to the YC/BC/CR changer who just recently decided on YC for August. I'd say....YC :goodvibes. Also, we stayed at the WL last year and we all agreed that WL is "the" Christmas resort. I think jogging, SAB, and easy access to 3 of the 4 parks is a great reason to stay YC. We chose YC instead of BC because we wanted to make sure we had a large balcony. We can't wait for SAB and you DD seems to be excited about staying at the YC.

"wave2: This is the same reason we prefer YC! I do like the airy decor of the BC lobby, but with the recent refurb YC rooms are not dark at all. Keeping the white furniture (don't know why BC got new headboards etc and YC didn't, but I prefer the white works for me! :goodvibes).

So I decided that in August, I am going to book a room at the Contemporary for the second week of October 2012. It will give me 14 months to pay off the whole trip. :rotfl: I really hope to get a 40% off PIN like I did for this past trip. I am spoiled by the convenience of CR. :rotfl: I won't do club level, but I will do BLV because I really liked having both views. I walk out onto the balcony and I see Bay Lake and I walk out of my room to see Space Mountain! If my boyfriend surprises me with something special (aka proposes to me) I will probably upgrade to CL. :cloud9: I want to spoil him on his first trip to WDW. He's going to want to stay at a Value, but I love doing nice things for him. He deserves it. :lovestruc I should just tell him we are staying at a Value and surprise him when we get to ME, but I can't keep my mouth shut.

Though I do want to try AoA. It should be open by October 2012. I'm already in switching mode and I haven't booked a resort yet. :lmao:

Hannah - You can do a lot of resort changeing in the span of 14 months :rotfl:

Oh my gosh I know! I could do a ton of changing, but I wouldn't want to miss out on getting a tower room at CR if I end up doing that. Especially after my last experience with that. :rotfl: The next 16 months are gonna be so much fun. My boyfriend is going to kill me!

Hannah, that's a great idea!!! I am hoping for another pin as well so I can book our resort for Dec 2012 and have all those months to pay it off....great minds!!:thumbsup2 My favorite view at CR is the BLV - for us the MK view is a glorified parking lot view, even on a high floor. I have a fear of heights so request a lower floor, but both on the higher floor and lower we felt like we were looking at the parking lot. Fireworks are great from the balcony though!

Fingers crossed for a good pin code - I received one for several years, then last year nothing.

Well, now DD says she would have stayed with Poly and not switched to WL and DH says I just need to pick something and stick with it. HA! Easy for him to say.

I prefer the white and pale blues, too:thumbsup2 But the compelling reason for us if that the YC is calmer than the BC. It's a little less popular with families which makes it less chaotic and crazy, but not by much. That SAB is still a big draw for everyone.

We (umm, I) have really wimped-out when it comes to staying in the Epcot Resort area. I don't know how or when it will ever win out over the MK Resort area for me.

:lmao:

The Tower BLV room is our favorite, too. I love not seeing a parking lot below and looking out at the lake, pool and marina is so peaceful.

I'm glad you have some tentative plans made, which are flexible if your "circumstances" should change:bride:. In August we saw a bride and groom taking photos out by the Mickey sculpture. We were on the 12th floor and could see that the bride had her flip-flops on underneath her gown. It was so cute.

Maybe you could do a split AoA/CR stay? Just make sure you do CR last;)

my thoughts exactly. While the stroll to/from epcot is fabulous, even the walk to hs is great, nothing is as enchanting as an mk resort.:cloud9:

isn't just so relaxing and peaceful?

With a BLV, I don't think there is a bad view, but with an MKV, you could possibly get a parking lot view. I loved looking at the islands. It was beautiful! I loved seeing the water show at night as well! It was so cute!

If I don't have a plan, I can't make any changes! I wouldn't be a very good RCer if I didn't have something planned so it could be changed later. :rotfl: My boyfriend doesn't want to strangle me yet and puts up with my obsession so I think he's a keeper. :rotfl: Now he's a real keeper if he puts up with me changing our reservations all the time. If he can put up with that, he can put up with anything. See, I have this all planned out. If he can put up with me changing the resort all the time, he will make a good husband. It's a test. Now let's see if he can pass it. :lmao:

I would love to be a Disney Bride, but I couldn't do a destination wedding. Almost no one would come or be able to afford to come. So I will just deal with a Disney-themed wedding. Gramma approved of me having Aurora's dress as a wedding dress. I told her that I wanter her dress as my wedding dress when we were in one of the shops that had the dress in white as a display. I'm glad I got her approval! We even had a long talk about marriage and what I should look for in a husband when we were on one of the buses along with talking about my boyfriend. I think it was on the way to our dinner, but I can't remember. lol

I might do a split stay. I was thinking I would go on a Friday so I would pay higher rates at AoA since it's a Value and stay there Friday - Monday and then stay at CR Monday - Friday and leave Friday night. I think that's a good plan. I also get 8 days at Disney! I wouldn't want to do a split stay if I was just doing Monday - Friday.
