Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Hope everything is ok with you, remember we are patiently waiting here for that mini TR and some pictures for the much needed Disney fixes we resort changers all need and love

I, too was wondering where Hannah has been. And has Dani (disneydreamin247) started back to work? We don't hear much from Karen, either. Maybe her son is visiting too much:sad2:. I hope all RC's are well.

Regarding the WA, ClareH37, I think I posted before that I was the one who started the WA/HBC FAQ thread with good intentions of someday staying at the WA instead of on-property. We love the Greenbrier, so in my mind I thought that the WA would be perfect. But, I could never do it since it feels so detached from the WDW experience. While the hotel is steps above the Deluxes, their location ends up a problem for us. I love being totally immersed in the WDW experience and being able to walk and/or monorail to the parks and not have to take a shuttle bus. But I completely understand the lure of the WA. If you don't mind the "detachment" from WDW, then I would book the WA. Otherwise, why not extend your on-property stay, as you suggested? Or try out the YC next door for a couple of nights. They have a very nice lounge. But, I suppose if you had wanted to do that, you wouldn't have canceled the WL?

There is about a month left of school here, but I feel like the school year just began. pas130, what do you have planned for your cuties this summer? Lots of swimming? Glad you're feeling better:goodvibes

Me too. I think Dani is back on Wednesday she said. Just hope Lilyana isn't sick. And Stinky might be driving Karen nuts:lmao:Hannah is probably working too hard....Ladies, where for art thou???[/SIZE]

I can't believe Memorial Day is next week! When did that happen? I am looking forward to the long break. I love having all the kids home, I almost want to homeschool them, ALMOST. I'm afraid they wouldn't be properly taught. We don't have a pool (I am scared of backyard pools- ER nurse thing, maybe when they are older). We live by a park, so we take lots of walks. And we have our playset and bikes of course:thumbsup2 And we like to picnic on the deck for lunch, it doesn't sound like much but the kids love to eat outside:goodvibes How about your crew? Your trip is July, right? Any other mini-vacas?

Before DD started going to some day camps and even when she doesn't have a camp, your summer sounds a lot like ours. I love going hiking and bike riding on trails in the woods near our house and bringing a picnic is still fun for me, but DD isn't as excited about those activities with mom anymore. I think I'll have to make some adjustments this summer. I used to take her to movies all the time, and now she thinks going with mom just isn't so much fun (but I get nachos!) I have a hard time with transitions and the one from ES to MS hasn't been easy for me. They really do grow-up way too fast (and think they're grown up) at that age. But, I don't have to tell you that.

Yes, we leave for FL in July - about 2 months from today we'll be at the CR:goodvibes. We usually go mid-August, but I wanted to use our APs one more time before they expire. We will have gotten 34 days out of them so I can't complain.

I can't remember whether you're doing a DDP? I know the family knows about the WL, but do they know about CL? Are you planning some time at FTW?

It's admirable that you would want to homeschool. I've often considered it since I was a teacher and I should put those degrees to good use, but I've not done it - yet. DD was in a German immersion school for 6 years so we wanted her to be in that program, but now that she's in a new school, I'm considering homeschooling. I know you could do it, pas130, but it is more complicated with more children.

I'm still here ladies (and fella!). I've been super busy...and exhausted lately. I start work Wednesday but I have my iPad and mobile hotspot all ready to go along with my breast pump lol. My job is quite boring at night so expect to hear from me!

I'm really, really depressed to be leaving my Lilyana already. I wish I could stay home with her. Also, I may sound like a glutton for punishment but I would LOVEEEEEEEE to have another one! Crazy right?!

I finally got my hair done today!!! It's been exactly a year since the last time lol. I also informed him to have some fuchsia ready for me for September. :woohoo:

We aren't doing DP. And the kiddos know about CL, they are so jazzed. They loved the CL at AKL, even though it was quite a hike to the lounge. And we are definitely going to FTW, we stayed in the cabins and never took advantage of all the activities. And DS wants to get a SeaRaycer with Dad. They do grow up too fast:sad1: One of the techs I work with Homeschooled 5 (has 1 that graduated college, 1 going in the Coast guard this summer, and 3 still home) I admire her, and envy all the time she spends with her kids. Then she comes to work 5p-11p to get a break :lmao: I worry about peer pressure, and distractions at school. Maybe once they are all school age, it would be much easier to keep them home. I wish I could stop the kids from getting older after 9 years old-those double digits.....:headache:

Awwwww. I totally get how you feel:hug: Will the Princess be home with your parents, or do you do Daycare? How's DS doing? They get spoiled when Mom's home for too long:sad1: I cried the first week I went back to work, luckily my co-workers understood.

Hannah, Karen..........................

Fellow RCs.....I booked a trip to see the decorations. No DH, no kids, no guilt! Going with my GF that I went out with couple of weeks ago. We need this trip:goodvibes And we are kidnapping another friend. She has NEVER been to Disney, and she just graduated nursing school. It's only 3 days, but it's SOOOO worth it to us. I booked GF SL. It's my XMAS present to myself, very impulsive.....who cares. I DESERVE IT!:cloud9:

:thumbsup2Your ticker looks great and I know you're going to have a great time. Did you have a pin code or are you going to try and apply the bounceback after you check-in at the Lodge? I know you really wanted to stay at the GF so I think this is a great way to check it out and get it out of your system, too:laughing:.

I'm so glad you have another trip to look forward to. On those long nights at the hospital, you can now think happy GF thoughts:goodvibes

I have a confession to make ......... I've tweaked again lol :rolleyes1

But this time it really is final - last 2 nights now booked at AKL CL, forget the luxury of the Waldorf, AKL keeps calling me. Booked and paid in full for my last 2 nights today. I've had to book via Disney Travel US as opposed to Disney Travel UK for the AKL as UK don't offer CL rooms and that's what I really wanted, as the £/$ rate isn't too bad at the moment I just felt if I held off paying, not only would I get the urge to move (again), but I could end up paying more due to not so great £/$ rate.

:wave2: Hi gang!

I'm still kicking around. I've been pretty busy the last few weeks though between work, oldest DS and youngest DS. whew! :faint:

Glad to see that everyone is happy and are still changin' like fiends. :teeth:

disneydreamin247 - sorry you have to go back to work so soon. I hope you can make the adjustment - I remember how hard it was.

pas130 - Yeah for GF! That sounds like a super fun trip! :cool1: And you deserve it :goodvibes

KOOK - Glad to see you're holding pat with your trip plans. :goodvibes I wish you were going at the end of August though so I could meet you - but I totally get the need to use up those AP's. ;) The kids expired in April, and mine expires in June. Not sure if I'll renew it though.

sjs314- Nice to see you here! :goodvibes

ClareH37 - that sounds like a much better choice to me. But then again I love  AKL CL. I thought it was as good as GF's. :goodvibes

Hannah - I'm off to check out the TR!!

I am so glad to see that I am not the only one that changes resorts numerous times before a magical trip.:rolleyes1 We have our trip planned for October 8 - October 15. Originally we had planned on bringing our fifth wheel and camping at Fort Wilderness. Just like the last 3 years, I made ressies approx. 1 year in advanced just to turn around and change. This year, I have went to Pop Century for about 2 weeks then changed to POFQ. I just don't feel settled yet. What's wrong with me!!!:scared:

So I changed AGAIN...We will be at ASMovies Preferred (toy story building hopefully) I told DH about girls trip....soooooo another compromise. I do have DDP now and saved enough $$$$ for plane tix and deposit for November:banana:DH wanted AS to begin with:lmao: And 2 trips are better than one right??? Still hoping for a bouceback.

Missed you! DH realizes I deserve it too I think:goodvibes Now I'm not allowed out for 6 months:rotfl:

I love AKL:cloud9:

I'm going to miss not changing any more lol, glad to see my fellow resort changers are keeping up the tradition though :goodvibes:rotfl:

I've been online getting as much info as I can about AKL, only problem is I think I need longer there

Glad you're OK and just busy with life. When does young DS get out of school?

Thank you for recognizing my un-changedness. But I will admit to not being to make-up my mind about Christmas. Even though the military 40% off room-only was extended into '12, the blackout dates have not been confirmed yet and AP rates only go into August. But, then there's the bounceback we might get in July:scratchin and the option actually exists to not go to WDW and go elsewhere! Hard to believe, right? It wasn't until August of last year that I booked for Christmas so I'll probably wait till then again. Just wish I could get the crazy deal I got last year when Expedia made a tiny teeny error and priced normally blacked-out dates after Christmas at 40% off:thumbsup2. Thank you, MouseSavers:worship:

Nothing is wrong with you and welcome to our little thread of big changes. Now, those crazy people who never change anything? There might be something wrong with them::yes::.

Well, POFQ has the queen beds now, so that makes it more desirable than POP, IMHO so I think that's a good move.

I loved riding bikes through FTW last Christmas. It is so much fun seeing how everyone decorates. Did you ever decorate your 5th wheel? Some people really go over the top - it's amazing and really gets you in the Christmas spirit:santa:

:hug:pas130, you really surprised me with this. Are you getting two connecting rooms? Can everyone fit in the double beds? How are the kids handling the change and more importantly, how are you handling it? You should subscribe to the POP thread so you'll be on top of everything. Have you ever stayed there before? I know very little about POP, but I do know that you'll be on-property at WDW and that means you'll have great Disney theming and is POP the one that doesn't share busses? If so, that sounds great, too. I bet the kids are excited about the over the top theming there:goodvibes

Hannah's been very busy over at her great CR/TR thread and I hope that Dani's transition to being a working mom again is going smoothly:)

WDWKOOK - Just found out about the queen beds last week! I was actually holding onto POFQ ressie hoping for a deal and was planning on CHANGING back to POP if it did not happen. ;) However, after finding out about the queen beds, the ressie might actually stay put no matter what! :thumbsup2

Holy catfish! :scared1: Now that's quite a switch! :worship:

I'm sure you'll be fine there, and will enjoy the sweetness of your Girls Trip all the more. what were your dates for the girls trip again? I'm thinking about going Solo again in November to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, eat too much at F&W, and get in on a massive Dessert/Illuminations party. ;)

Are you looking forward to Summer Vacation? :goodvibes

So glad you're back :thumbsup2 It's my first ever stay at AKL, it's one of those resorts where I've visited but never quite made it to stay so really excited about this one. I've been online getting as much info as I can about AKL, only problem is I think I need longer there

I really do love AKL. Don't miss the Zebra Domes - they come in either alcoholic or non alcoholic varieties, and that marvelous pool.

Now that's a dream mistake. :worship: I would love to get a discount like that one!

DS gets out on June 13th or 14. Honestly, I'm not paying too much attention to the date. The first day of summer vacation is always a sad one for me. :sad1: (JK!) Seriously, he has his birthday party coming up soon :scared1: and then after school lets out (and his Bo Staff training in Karate is over) he heads off to Texas for the summer.

So DH and I will be "empty nesters" for the summer.

Do you have plans for your summer? :goodvibes

WDWKOOK - Just found out about the queen beds last week! I was actually holding onto POFQ ressie hoping for a deal and was planning on CHANGING back to POP if it did not happen. ;) However, after finding out about the queen beds, the ressie might actually stay put no matter what! :thumbsup2

The queen beds are a nice draw, but so is the boat to DTD. :thumbsup2

How old are your kids?

We'll be at All Star Movies, my DH was surprised too:lmao:The kids already picked out who sleeping with who...And at least we have an extra bed:thumbsup2 We requested Toy Story Building:banana: And I got the DxDP, it was nice to save some $:goodvibes Our first Disney trip was ASMovies so DH and I are a little nostalgic:lovestruc

I can't wait for school to be done, can't wait for Florida:cheer2: We really liked it there. That was years ago. DH says the kids will appreciate the Deluxes more when they are a little older. It's OK, I am getting another visit:cheer2: We are going Nov 30-Dec 3rd. I plan on going to the Merry Holiday Party on the 30th...Hope our plane isn't delayed...Gotta research some ADRs:love: What the August plan now? HHI? Disney?Universal?

So I am reading Hanna's TR update last evening and see the picture of the castle from the CL lounge at CR and start regretting changeing my ressie to BC. I go and check online but nothing available for my dates , which I pretty much figured since I have been periodically checking CR's availability.

I did save dates in November gonna mention changeing to DH again :rotfl:

He is gonna have me commited.

HOLY CRAP!!! In all the stress and mayhem going on around here lately I didn't even realize that I'm UNDER FOUR MONTHS AWAY!!!!

On other news, I need a serious boyfriend so that I can have another baby ASAP :rotfl:
