Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Well, I know, but DD would want to use the pool with the slide and she's never been a big fan of coming out the clown's mouth:eek:. I guess it's the general overall theming that has never appealed to me. We prefer being surrounded by trees and/or water and we've never been big Boardwalk area fans. This is just our personal preference and I hope you don't take any of my comments the wrong way. (This already happened to me once today on the CL thread:rolleyes1).
Oh don't worry about anything you said because if you don't like the theme of the Boardwalk and etc I can respect that. In fact I like the way you said it compared to those who might hate the Contemporary because they claim it has no theme or has a convention center, even though they are not the only convention resort.

Thank you! :goodvibes

Um hemm, (hangs head in shame)

POR preferred was available
I switched already.... :guilty:

So that makes 5 reservations, 3 of which were cancelled, and 4 resort changes for a measly three day stay.

And I keep insisting I don't have a "changing" problem :rolleyes1

I just couldn't get into CSR. I kept trying to, lurking on the thread, looking at pics and videos, but I really never got the :goodvibes when I visited over there. The more I thought about staying there the more  I was getting. :guilty:

So, at least I'm going back to my first ever WDW resort.... :teeth:

Now If I can keep myself from switching over to POP I might just make it on my trip without going :crazy2:
I did not read your post above before I posted so... Congratulations!:yay: You're going to be much happier there. And, yes, you may have a slight, teeny-weeny changing problem. But that's OK with us. We understand you completely and think you're tons of fun.

I know how you feel about CSR, I have similar feelings about a resort that has the initials BC. I think I should just switch back to WL and not worry about not being able to book the Deluxe room or walk to Epcot. WL is a known entity and BC is not, so I think that's part of my problem - but just part...

Oh, I know! I get soooo tired of reading that the CR has no Disney theming. But usually the people who say that have never stayed there or what they really mean to say is that they don't like the theming. A cardboard box has no theming, but the CR definitely has theming and I know that I don't have to explain that to you:thumbsup2.

kaffinito I am glad you switched. I know what you mean about :goodvibes on some of the threads  Well, ASSp was the first resort I ever went to AND the first I went to as a wife and mommy so I LOVE it! Only mod I stayed at was CBR, it was too cold to swim (never saw the pool) and it was filled with CHEERLEADERS. I was a cheerleader 20 years ago, but we couldn't even drive through the parking lots without almost running over a pyramid. Haven't wanted to go back, then I was bitten by the villa and the deluxe bug:rotfl: Still want to try Pop though, but AoA will open first...Sorry, I lost myself. My trip was 11 disney days, now down to 4. And at least 7 hotel changes:crazy2:

WDWKOOK My DH didn't really like the Epcot side of the world, I couldn't really sell BWI to him. (I almost had him on the GF, then he saw the price) He's a HUGE All Stars fan, and he likes the theming at Pop. We'll get there....Ah hah! Split stay, Pop and WL for December (Fingers crossed for a Bounceback deal :goodvibes) I love your pictures. We would have to get 2 rooms though or a 2 Bedroom Villa. DS turns 3 in October.

Plus sometimes those are the same people that might still go there to eat at California Grill, Chef Mickey's or The Wave. However they will still think it has no theme and in a way they are supporting the Contemporary by going there to eat and look around, although that's just my personal opinion about that and for another topic.

I forgot to add that I have also read some replies where people said they wanted to stay at Bay Lake Tower, but they hated the theme of the Contemporary. Well when I read that I thought to myself both are exactly the same theme and the actual name is Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Plus all the stores, restaurants, transportation and etc are all at the Contemporary for Bay Lake Tower guests, so the people who don't like it are forced to go there.

Both you AND kaffinito are fun!
I think you should switch to WL too. DH loves it there, and you love it there. My problem is I follow my feelings, and my feelings keep changing. DH calls it impulsive, I call it spontaneous  Keep in mind I may be persuading you because I want to stay there too:rotfl:

:rotfl2:I love your comment about the pyramids:cheer2: - too funny:rotfl:.

Well, at least your DH helps you to narrow down the choices. Mine loves all the Deluxes and leaves everything up to me and claims that he'll be happy anywhere (he loves WDW). But, we both know that the CR is his favorite and WL second. But, he's never stayed at an Epcot resort and loves the idea of walking to Epcot and us jogging around Crescent Lake in the morning.

:scratchinIt might be a good idea if I stop reading a certain resort thread. Every time someone posts about how crowded the lobby and lounge are and how it attracts so many more children than the YC, I wish that I was staying at the YC instead. But the Deluxe room there is actually a Jr. Suite and much larger and costlier. So DH suggested instead booking a water view CL room at the YC, but the price of their regular room is exactly the same as the Deluxe CL/water view room at the BC. When I told him that he said that there was probably no room that would make me happy:rolleyes1

BTW, pas130, thank you so much for your very kind words over at the CL thread. You made me feel so much better and I really appreciate it - you're great:goodvibes.

I feel the same way about BC so I completely understand. I understand about the deluxe room dilemma too. It's hard not to stay in one once you have. :)

And I think you're fun too. :goodvibes

Nor to me. While I didn't (gasp) like BLT except for the pool, I do like CR and remember it from way back in '73. I would love to stay there someday. :)

I vote for two rooms CL at WL! :)

And thanks for the well wishes. I know I'll enjoy AsSpo, that's the only ressie I haven't even been tempted to change. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 True. Question for you and WDWKOOK - are the CL rooms at the top of the tower with the little hallways open up to the lobby or is it enclosed? I could do CL there if it was enclosed and not open up to the lobby. :guilty:

On the Atrium Club 12th floor you can look down onto the 4th floor and see their stores and restaurants. However the Tower Club 14th floor is enclosed so from there you can't look down onto the 4th floor or hear anything that's happening. Now there are no differences in the food offerings and service from the Cast Members, so think Royal Palm and Sugar Loaf. The one difference between both floors is the price, because the standard rooms on the Tower Club are more expensive then the Atrium Club and they didn't get the full renovation which the other Tower rooms got. Now another reason is there have a total of 16 rooms when you include their various suites, plus there is only 4 standard rooms with the Magic Kingdom View and 1 with the Bay Lake View. So less guests will be in the lounge and why their lounge is also smaller. Finally you have to request the Magic Kingdom View when reserving a standard room, so unlike the Atrium Club the view is not part of the room category. Only their suites come with a view in the room category. Although with their amount of standard rooms chances are you could request the view and end up with it, but it's still not 100%. So I guess it's fair to say the odds of that request would be very good.

So I would have to get Tower Club not Atrium Club if I stayed there. :) Thanks!

CRRF4L did a great job with the differences. One thing to note, I have read that because the CA Grill is above the Tower Club (14th floor), when it closes at night it can be noisy above you when they are cleaning and moving furniture around. But I have never personally stayed on the 14th floor so I don't know how noisy it can really get.

When we stayed on the 14th floor in May 2000 I can honestly say that was never an issue. Plus until you mentioned it I had no idea anyone on the 14th floor could hear them moving things around in the California Grill.

I have just come to the conclusion that all of us here on this thread are FUN!

:banana::banana::banana:

I don't believe this is true because I asked about this a couple of months ago. I was told that the room that is canceled will be released back as a discounted room and the CM said that sometimes if rooms aren't selling well, the WDTC will even release more rooms with a discount.

But I like what Kaffinito told you, just be happy with CL and as she would also say, "Accept the reservations you cannot change." Easier said than done...

I should be happy with it and accept, but it's the price. :guilty: And it is easier said than done. When I talk to my gramma in person about the finances and stuff, that will be the deciding factor whether I stay at club level or keep on trying to change it. If she is ok with staying club level, then I will stop calling.

:banana::banana::banana:

Cause we are:cheer2:

LillianGracey You and your Gramma are going Atrium Club, and you will love it!

CRResortFan4Life I also agree with how everyone complains about the theming at CR, and then eats there. Gotta love it. It is the "ultimate WDW resort", c'mon the monorail goes THROUGH the hotel-how cool is that??? It is a high contender for my next trip! I always enjoy your CR and BWI pics/reviews (but you knew that:goodvibes)

WDWKOOK I think the problem is, with all of us, there are SO many EXCELLENT choices, but we want to plan the MOST FANTASTIC! And just when we think we have it, we second guess. Yes stick with us, this thread rocks:banana: You and CRFan can keep each other psyched about BC. Your DH sounds great, (my DH is in Disney denial, he loves it but thinks I go overboard-I do) that really sounds nice to jog in the morning with DH. And between YC and BC-the decor at BC is nicer;) And I got your back, I saw that post and went into overprotective mommy mode....You're the best, you are sweet and you have the best sense of humor (cause it's like mine)!!

When's the big talk with Gramma? Make sure you go armed with lots of CL knowledge, if she doesn't already know what it includes. Will telling her she can have all the wine and cordials she wants help?

YES! You're right! The trip must be PERFECT! What is perfect? I DON'T KNOW! But it seems to change weekly.

Yesterday, I listened to a recording of "Mr. Monorail" (you know, the voice of the monorail) announcing the stop at the CR (I posted the link to the CR thread like the good geek I am) and it reminded me of how much I love that monorail and seeing it glide around Epcot and the Seven Seas Lagoon and after many trips and many monorail rides, I still get excited when I see it and ride it. It makes it hard to stay anywhere else, but when it's not available, then I have no choice. Trip planning can be very emotional:hyper::worried:. I don't know how you get through it with seven children and that newborn of disneydreamin247's who doesn't seem to know when it's nighttime:sad2:. You guys are amazing:worship:.

I missed entirely too much today, you chatty bunch! At least we're a chatty bunch and not a catty bunch.;) :rotfl:

Well, someone on the CL thread thought I was catty today, does that count?
If I had a nickel for every time I've said this.....or read this.....on this thread ALONE, I'd PAY for the stay in the Grand Villa for ALL of US!!! :goodvibes
:rotfl:

:lmao: Does that include the DDP? Or are we a few pages away from that many nickels?
I was hoping for the Platinum Plan. Imagine doing a couple of weeks with the Platinum Plan. How in the world could we all ever figure out which tours, recreation, signature dining, spa treatments... to do:confused3. I'd be uber-planning to make sure I covered every single thing.

Anyone remember the "Wishes" plan? Back in the late 90's, DH says I killed that plan because I maxed it out by using it for every restaurant that served lobster and by using the credits for massages and expensive recreation. Boy, do I miss that plan...
