Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

My boyfriend says because we are doing this as a group, we are in deep trouble because it's going to be that much more difficult picking a resort. He needs to stop making fun of us though. Changing resorts is serious business. :rotfl:

I'm all for the GV idea! When is this happening!? I want this to happen! :furious:

How about for the Fantasyland completion? I vote AoA or the Treehouses :thumbsup2 And congrats on getting your ME tags, now you really know you're going:goodvibes....BTW can we make this a girls only trip....even if its only a few days, I have yet to go away without the kids, my youngest will be 4 so I think DH can handle it.:rotfl:

That would be great! And AoA would be perfect! We will have to stay in one of the suites! :cloud9 And of course it can be a girls only trip! My boyfriend is a big boy. He can handle me being away for a while. At least, I hope so. :rotfl: I still need to take him to WDW. He has never been before.

My boyfriend would never want to go on a trip with us. He would get so fed up with us changing resorts.

How about the Tree House:hyper:. Since we're only a family of three, I need an excuse to stay in one.

Kaffinito: Are you able to use the coupons I posted the link to? I used them a few times at Christmas and I wished they had them year 'round for the QSs since they don't take TIW.

How did I miss this? :sad1: Sorry!

Anywho, I like the Treehouse idea. It can definitely go on the list. And I was thinking it makes more sense (for us anyway :teeth:) to book a diffierent resort each night. :cool1:

So there's AoA, Treehouse, a huge suite somewhere, and a GV somewhere. :goodvibes

Oh, and thank you for the coupons, I will use them on this trip. :)

Poly Suite, BLT GV, there done:laughing: 11 days kaffinitoStill AllStars/CSR? Did I get that right? I was looking at WL yesterday:rolleyes1 I am disconnecting my phone until August:rotfl:

I'm in a resort switching mood today. I'm at work right now so when I get home I am going to watch resort videos and I'll let y'all know what resort I'm in the mood for when I'm done watching. :guilty:

I love the fact that you're willing to, umm, consult with us after you've watched your videos:thumbsup2. Are you watching the free DVDs or some of the Samantha Brown ones?

Question (on behalf of a friend;)):

Someone I know, let's call her WDWKOOL:rolleyes1, is mildly concerned about her resort for the second half of her split-stay. (I'll use the initials BC to represent this resort). But, WDWKOOL is not at all concerned about her first 5-night's resort. (I'll use the initials CR to represent the resort).

Does this mean she should not do a split and should instead stay 12 nights in the resort she knows she loves? (Even though she would have to re-schedule since there is no availability beyond 5 nights.) Or should she split the trip between a MK and an Epcot resort as she has already done:confused3

My DH threw out my DVD 2 days after I got it:headache:

Your friend should join our thread:lmao: Too bad your friend couldn't switch the BC to the beginning and CR to the end. This way she knows the trip will end well. Are there other resorts available that your friend might like? OR does your friend really want a full CR trip? I would still keep the split stay, but maybe I would look around at other available possibilities. My friend, I'll call her Sas130, was thinking of WL instead of GF, but then I beat the heck out of her:rotfl:

Plus it just might be fun for your friend to pick another resort. All in all, I think your friend will really like BC :goodvibes and having a trip on each side of the "World"

Sas130 is trouble! Trouble I tell ya!

She MUST know WDWKOOL because she told me that she, too is considering switching back to the WL! Why? Well, it seems her DH keeps teasing her about having changed from the WL to the BC and is making her second-guess her decision.

She originally switched from the WL/CL to the BC/Deluxe room because she couldn't get the WL Deluxe room with her discount. But it's probably just as well since for some unknown reason, WL/Deluxe actually costs more than a BC Deluxe room even though it's smaller and you can't walk to a park from it. Go figure.

I, I mean my friend, keeps raving to her DH about how much she loved the WL/CL this past Christmas, but then she back pedals about staying there because of the small-ish rooms and the fact that you can't walk to a park from there. But besides the CR, it's DH's favorite resort and I'm so worried about that crowded and crazy BC lounge and atmosphere, but I want to walk to Epcot! Help - my friend!

Ask Sas130 what kind of room she's considering over at the WL. Just think how many extra days you, umm, she could spend there since it would probably be cheaper than the GF suite;). BTW - I love the Lodge, have you ever stayed there? Oh, and why did DH throw the DVDs out?:sad2:

Oh, there is no helping us, I mean our friends. DH favorite resort. Ouch that does NOT help I am sure. I, I mean Sas130 was thinking Deluxe Room. Yes $$$$$ saved. What to do!!!!! But walk to Epcot, how bout Deluxe Room BWI? Never been there it was my 2nd reservation this trip. DH knows I go Disney crazy and he thought if he threw out the DVD I wouldn't think about planning a trip, silly, silly man

OK, I wasn't asking for my friend, it was me the whole time:upsidedow.

Me, BWI? With that clown slide:sad2:. I have nothing against BWI, but the theming just is not for us.

I still love the idea of the WL Deluxe room, but why is it more than the BC Deluxe room? It's 500sf Vs. 533sf - that really bothers me... I think you should stay there and extend your stay!

Well the Boardwalk does have quiet pools located around the Inn and Villas sections, so you are not forced to visit the clown side. In fact during my two Boardwalk Inn stays I never saw anyone using the quiet pool on the Inn side.

I just couldn't switch. We would've saved money, but because I already booked our flights-there's no extending the trip. And we are locked in on the other side in Universal and the Beach. I just really am in love with the idea of GF:cloud9: and the Concierge have been wonderful. I am think WL would be a great holiday trip.....My kids really like zero entry pools and I am digging staying by the monorail. I will say I almost booked a reservation this morning for the WL Deluxe room figuring I could cancel one when I make up my mind:rotfl: My DS loves the clown side, but DH didn't like SAB or the theming at BCV. Then DH talked them into Pop. I am staying off WL board and Disney website....for today.:surfweb:

Of course nothing was available at CR other than CL, but what is quite strange is that the CM told me to not expect anymore rooms to be available because when people cancel a room that is under a PIN, it goes to rack rate. Which I don't think is true because there were no rooms available under my PIN for a while and then around the 45 day mark, rooms were available. Granted, only CL, but there were rooms available. Can anyone confirm that what this CM is saying is true or false? She basically told me I was wrong when I explained to her that I was booked at BWI because there were no rooms available at CR and that when I called in around the 45 day mark, rooms were available. :confused3

To funny! I don't watch them at all when I'm thinking about switching - I'm too easily swayed. :rolleyes1

WDWKOOL, er I mean WDWKOOK, have you thought about starting with BC as suggested and then ending with CR? That was good advice given. I usually follow that myself. ;)

My DH threw out my DVD 2 days after I got it:headache:

That's terrible! I would strongly protest, then order another one and hide it from him. :headache:

I would skip WL and stick with your original idea of GF. You will have so much more room, and will love staying there. Save WL for a special occasion. :)

Very true. I don't like clowns so I stay at the quiet pool. they have a nice hot tub, and it's a nice quiet place to sunbathe or swim. :goodvibes

I don't know, but why not enjoy the idea of staying CL? I think you will really like it! :goodvibes

I am still sticking with GF:thumbsup2 I think it has been 6 months so YES I can order another. He always does that:headache: like it will stop my obsession:lmao: My fault for leaving it in the DVD player:guilty: WL would be great for a holiday trip:idea:

And only ten more days til Disney for you kaffinito :goodvibes

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Thank you! I'm glad you're sticking with GF. I liked my stay there a lot. If it weren't so darn much $$$ I'd stay there again. :)

and HELP!

I want to switch to POR now in the worse possible way.

I don't WANT to stay at CSR. I DON'T like it there!

HELP!

OK, we can do this....

1) Is POR available????
2) If it is...why not switch-especially if you don't like it!!! Did you see something on a thread that made you change your mind?

I just think you should be  happy on your solo trip. I have never stayed at either. My BIL loves POR, they were at Poly this last trip and he loved it, but he missed POR.

Um hemm, (hangs head in shame)

POR preferred was available
I switched already.... :guilty:

So that makes 5 reservations, 3 of which were cancelled, and 4 resort changes for a measly three day stay.

And I keep insisting I don't have a "changing" problem :rolleyes1

I just couldn't get into CSR. I kept trying to, lurking on the thread, looking at pics and videos, but I really never got the :goodvibes when I visited over there. The more I thought about staying there the more  I was getting. :guilty:

So, at least I'm going back to my first ever WDW resort.... :teeth:

Now If I can keep myself from switching over to POP I might just make it on my trip without going :crazy2:

Well, I know, but DD would want to use the pool with the slide and she's never been a big fan of coming out the clown's mouth:eek:. I guess it's the general overall theming that has never appealed to me. We prefer being surrounded by trees and/or water and we've never been big Boardwalk area fans. This is just our personal preference and I hope you don't take any of my comments the wrong way. (This already happened to me once today on the CL thread:rolleyes1).

OK, the flights, I didn't realize that. That makes perfect sense. Keep your reservation at the GF and try for the WL for Christmas. DD and I were there this past Christmas and it was delightful. So far, it's my favorite CL. I have photos posted here.

Of course nothing was available at CR other than CL, but what is quite strange is that the CM told me to not expect anymore rooms to be available because when people cancel a room that is under a PIN, it goes to rack rate. I don't believe this is true because I asked about this a couple of months ago. I was told that the room that is canceled will be released back as a discounted room and the CM said that sometimes if rooms aren't selling well, the WDTC will even release more rooms with a discount.

But I like what Kaffinito told you, just be happy with CL and as she would also say, "Accept the reservations you cannot change." Easier said than done...

WDWKOOL, er I mean WDWKOOK, have you thought about starting with BC as suggested and then ending with CR? That was good advice given. I usually follow that myself. ;)

That is a good idea and I usually follow that advice, but the CR is unavailable during the second half of our stay. I would have to completely switch the dates closer to mid-August when that FD and room-only discount starts and I'm afraid it might be extra crowded then:confused3.

Thank you! I'm glad you're sticking with GF. I liked my stay there a lot. If it weren't so darn much $$$ I'd stay there again. :)

I like Pas130's advice and I, too wonder what makes you want to change? I know you didn't want to stay at CSR from the moment I suggested it. So what's holding you back from switching out CSR? Is there a King room at POR available?

I've stayed at Dixie Landings (RIP:guilty:) twice. It was our very first Disney resort and our DD's first. I love the landscaping and the food court. I even heard they'll be getting queen beds soon, right? Would you be going to DTD? You could boat there which is nice.

Keep us posted, Kaffinito:goodvibes
