Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

We are back from POP and had a great time. For next year we decided to stay somewhere different for a change. On the table was CBR. Beach theme that we liked. Huge resort, that we didn't like, but we would get a preferred room. DH and my mom really like CBR, but  we can stay at POFQ for less $ because there is no preferred room category, which translates to WPFM tickets with the difference in price.

We have stayed at POFQ one other time and I didn't like it all that much, because I was dreaming of being at WL. Now, coming off of two value resort trips, I think I might have a new appreciation for a moderate. The thing is I am not sure if I made the right decision. Should I have booked CBR w/out WPFM? Help!!!

This thread is so funny. Why is it so hard to decide? :confused3I won't be changing resorts this year but I am having such a hard time with room choice. I've gone from studio, to 1bdr to, to boardwalk view, to CL:confused: Then there's the ADR's I have to make I'm sure I'll change my mind a thousand times. The whole process gives me a headache.

Help! I am changing my mind so much about what resort to stay at for our January 2011 trip that I haven't made any reservations yet!

We wanted to try something new and had discussed an Epcot area resort, probably YC or BC, hoping for a 4/3 deal. Well, then Disney released both the % off discount and Free Dining discounts for January. Even with the discount I couldn't justify the extra cost of those resorts vs. free dining at a moderate and decided I would book POR. After thinking about it again, I realized that this is our last trip as a family of 4 (DS will be 3 by our next trip), and feel that we should take advantage of it and stay at one of the resorts that only has rooms for 4 people. Combining this with the desire to try a new resort we were left with WL and AKL. I decided on AKL. Then DH says he wants to save some money on this trip and stay at a moderate.

I need to make up my mind soon before none of the resorts I want to stay at are available anymore!

Having a family of 5, I would suggest you try and talk Dh into staying at WL or AKL while you can still fit in a regular room. They have some great rates for both using the room discount for January. They are the cheapest rooms in the deluxe category. Even if you don't do a deluxe, I would still suggest another resort other than POR while you can still fit all 5 of you in a room. POR will be your only choice for a moderate for the future. Try CSR or CBR. Both are lovely. CSR has queen beds, even. Both have great themed pools.

Lastly, if DH reallllllly wants to save money - then stay at one of the values while you can still fit in one of the rooms.

Your options as a family of 5 will soon be very limited. Take advantage of the rooms for 4 while you can! Good luck, and see you there in January!

Yes, well this is now our situation. We can no longer stay in a bunk bed room at AKL or WL. It was very tight this year. We need separate accommodations for both of the boys and my teenager is very tall. We will be staying in a room with an additional sleeper (either YC, BC, Poly, GF, or CR) OR we will be staying in a 1br villa with a cot. Cross off OKW or SSR because I'm not interested in either. We loved Kidani but Boardwalk is in Epcot location and we love that area. CR is where DS wants to stay so......I'll just keep CR until I can figure out what we want to do. 2012 we're staying in the new family suites and that's final......:rolleyes1

Well I've hopefully got it right now...but probably not :lmao:

we booked our Disneymoon at CBR, then decided we wanted an extra day...so I changed to POP. The from POP I thought it would be nice to stay delux...so we switched yet again to WL. Then we thought a split stay would be nice so we had one night on either end of the trip at ASMo with the rest at WL. Well again...not quite what we wanted so we tried POR for a night on either side of the trip with WL in the middle...BUT I thought I wanted to spend more time at POR. SO where we stand now we have 6 nights at POR and 4 at WL.

I'm hoping this is it...and I've seen no reason to change...yet. However we don't go until July so I'm sorry in advance if my ticker keeps changing. At least I'm among friends lol:lmao:

OK, I have to stop changing. This is it no more changes.
Just changed 1st night from ASSP AP rate to Coronado Springs standard room AP rate. Old price $102.83, new price $135.29 and queen beds, yippee.
Nights 2 thru 8, SSR Treehouse Villas.
Night 9, Boardwalk Villas standard studio.
Dates, Oct 23, 2010 to Nov 1, 2010.
National Car Rental at airport, 9 days, $232.33, Emerald Aisle.

OHHH NOOO CHIMO!!! I thought we had discussed this.....:goodvibes You simply must do BC....because I want to do BC.....:lmao: but...I think if I could get Poly garden club at $200 less...I would change too! As you will soon see, I have my first 2011 dilemma.....whoa is me... We did stay at the WL this year, but we changed rooms twice...:scared1:

Well stepdisney, You'll be happy to know, I am BACK at BC!!! Wait.....that only took, what 1 month to change???? :rotfl:

The reviews at the Poly lately where not really making me feel confident, I also decided that since Epcot and DHS are my son's favourite parks, it only makes sense to be close to them....as well, much of our dining is in EPCOT. So, we are back to Club level Beach Club.....only gardenview this time though, no lagoon views are available anymore. That's ok, because I saved another $200 by making the switch back to BC.
I will get around to changing my ticker one of these days....I am just toooooo tired to do it right now, afterall, it's becoming a monthly thing, LOL!!!
Soooo looking forward to some Disney Time in FEB....just praying for the good weather now!!! :beach:

Yipeeee!!!

You have me thinking now....we simply LOVED Epcot this year. We went 3 Times!!! The boys didn't want to go to AK a second time this year but opted to go to Epcot for the 3rd time. We will get hoppers next year. I want to stay at an Epcot resort now more than ever. We have CR booked BUT I may be able to switch to BCV or BWV if I do it now.....I don't feel the pressure quite yet since we've only just gotten back but I hear BCV calling me from a distance...........................CHANGE....................CHANGE............

Soooooooooooooooo........
I am not touching Dec's trip...a quick 4 nighter at FQ with a passholder rate....last year our room there was only $89!~ THis year around $139....anyway,,,
Going back in Jan, solo for the Jan Half Marathon....(GOt bit by the fitness bug after finishing the Wine and DIne 1/2!)
so I had WL woods view booked with the public discount code...had buyers remorse for spending all that cash for a 3 night trip solo...but love the location...so I changed and am holding at AS Sports....first bus pick up and drop off...never stayed here before...have stayed Music and POP...POP not available on discount...So NOW I am waiting to see what will be available when Passholder rates come out for Jan...UGH thought I was done with all of this ! LOL
I dont know...I want to go to POP with the new refurb....or if FQ opened up std cat...I may be swayed....however....seriously, will not be in my room except to sleep and shower......
Just ranting.....thanks:) lol

***Was totally spoiled at YC CL pre WIne/DIne 1/2...and AKV Jambo SV post race***
I know you all can relate! lol

I posted here a while back about my chronic resort changing for our Dec. trip. Now we've planned a "bounceback" trip for late January, and it's beginning again. Currently booked at POR under the room-only discount. Still waiting for the AP discounts to be released. At that time, might change to POFQ. Of course, I've also priced out the potential AP discount at some of the deluxe resorts, too. I'd think I was crazy, if not for all my fellow resort changers in this thread.

Joining the team. I originally booked Poly (CL and Free dining) then had to get a room for 6 so I booked WL Deluxe room (rack rate). Today got a discount:cheer2: so we are booked for 2 rooms (adjoining guaranteed me, DH, and our 5 kids) GF TPV- no CL but I splurged for Deluxe dining. Will this be it??????? Hope so.

That's the thing about "CRCS" (Chronic Resort Changing Syndrom), it comes back every with every trip. We are seriously considering DVC. I can't breath thinking about all of the options I'll have. We can't all be crazy. :)

PLEASE tell me how you landed a discount!! If we don't decide to purchase the DVC, we may still switch from CR to BLT. We need a great discount. We are currently booked under free dining for next year.

IMO it was good customer service. I posted about my 2 calls to CM inquiring about PINs which I felt I was treated poorly. I emailed disney, but then did talk myself into trying again. My final call, I was told there was a discount available to me. Whether it was a PIN or what-don't know, don't care, LOL. However CM said I couldn't use it for the WL Deluxe room, so I priced out CR and GF. CR would have been significantly less but I went ALL OUT (almost didn't do CL). I din't save money in the end, but I could've:rotfl2: Just figured why not go for the monorail resorts. We are a Party of 7 total- 2 adults, 4 kids, one 2 year old

Update 12/9: Looks like everyone is MIA from this thread:laughing:.

Ignore my post (like you haven't already:rolleyes1). DD wants to stick with what I already booked - CSR. No changes this trip:thumbsup2.

I've been MIA from this thread for a while. I didn't change my August '10 WDW reservations at all! Well, that's not entirely true:rolleyes1. We were booked at YC/CL, but after one night, we missed the CR so much we went over and they switched us to the Atrium Club for 8 nights. But, I digress.

I need your opinions for our December trip. We (DD and I, DH is deployed:guilty:) will be arriving two weeks from today. A couple of Passholder rates opened-up today and I'd like your opinions.

I am not changing our WL/CV reservation for 8 nights, but we do have 3 nights currently booked at CSR before WL. DD has never stayed there.

In August, we did a split at AKL/Savanna and DD and I loved it. It just came available today with the Passholder discount:scratchin

WL/Courtyard also is now available and that is where we are booked for 8 nights already.

So here are the choices:

~ Stick with CSR for the first three nights.

~ Change to AKL/SV for the first three nights.

~ Change to WL/CV so that we're not doing a split and will have 11 nights there.

TIA - I'm looking forward to everyone's opinion:hyper:

So my 3rd switch to GF Sugarloaf this August has been changed. I really wanted GF, but I kept reading posts about BWI, DS 9 saw the pool and was like MOMMY PLEASE I WANT TO GO THERE! My MIL is no longer coming along, sooooooooooooooooooo we are now booked BWI Deluxe Room with the kids free promotion (plus I saved a bunch). I have changed my ticker to a non-resort ticker just in case this isn't the final destination

Big, big mistake. GF is a million times nicer than BWi.

I hear you, but for now I prefer one room for all of us. Once the kids are bigger the connecting rooms will work better. I don't think any resort in Disney is a mistake. We always have a blast!

I don't usually change resorts, but for our January trip (that's in 12 days now), I've changed resorts four times. I think I have a problem. :rotfl:

I started with WL, then AKL, then OKW and this morning I switched to YC! I was so excited to see today on the passholder site a std view room for our dates. :cool1: They previously only had water view rooms, which were $50 more and I just didn't think we needed that. But today my luck changed! I love a bargain and I think $194 a night for YC is just fab! :thumbsup2

you'll love that room! We stayed in one in July and it was huge! Here's a pic of just the second half of the room. I couldn't believe how far away my son seemed when he was sleeping. :rotfl:
