Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

DH and I....I mean, I...started at Coronado...switched to the Pop, now I am certain I can't bear to stay at the Pop for 11 whole days...but am now uncertain of whether I want back at Coronado, or want POR. Anyone able to help push a lady over the edge. If it helps, this is our first (and more than likely only) trip to the world prior to starting a family, so we wont have anything to compare to. So far, I have the Pros: Coronado, Nicer Rooms, POR, Nicer Property; Cons: Coronado, Laaaaaaaaaarge property, POR: Seemingly bad bus transportation. Its up to you guys, help me pull the trigger.

Doesn't it all boil down to which one appeals to you more? ;) I never much cared for CSR myself, although I love the Pepper market, but have always loved POR. I haven't found the transportation to be bad at POR, but it does depend on which part of the resort you're at. :)

We're not going until October, though, so I'm really looking forward to months more of arguing!:headache:

Let us know who won the argument! My kids don't fight over where we stay, they just want me to pick something so they can know where we're staying. :)

My oh my, what good is a lazy Sunday afternoon except to browse the boards!!

It is definitely not a good idea for a gal who loves reading about the resorts....and we all know that's not a good thing for a resort changer/waffler!!!! :lmao:

Well, today I've been reading about BWI again and dreaming about this resort. I love the theme of the boardwalk, and I also think the clown/rollercoaster pool is quite unique and very fun looking.

My summer trip (August 21-26) with my son (age 14) is all paid in full, and currently we are staying at the Beach Club Club Level. I haven't changed anything yet, but I know you will all understand my dilema with reading and dreaming and humming and hawing!!! LOL :rotfl2:

I just thought I better post my itchings here instead of picking up the phone again to make ANOTHER change!!! I admit....I have a problem, I am a resort-changer!!! YIKES!

and here I sit, going over it all in my mind....Stay with our Beach Club Reservation or change to BWI....... At this moment, I am just keeping things as they are and hoping the urge to change subsides eventually! Sometimes being content and keeping things as they are is not a bad idea!! This constant questioning is not good for my peace of mind!!!!
This is the only thread where I knew you'd all understand my feelings and not think I am crazy!! :flower3:
I NEED TO BE STRONG! I NEED TO STAY PUT!!!! :)
Thank you for listening in my time of need!!!! :goodvibes

Chimo,

Because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE BC resort and it is my dream resort, I would say, stay put.....BUT, I would probably go to the disney site, PRETEND to change, get all the way to the end where they say "book this stay" and bail...:lmao: It's what gets me through my need to change.

By the way, we talked today about Contemporary resort again......DS(15) really wants this one. I tried it with the 40% pin I have and it wasn't too bad. If I drop the Water Park, With the regular tickets and garden tower view with regular dining, the difference is about $600. My DH said no way. As a matter of fact, he said that we should be looking at CSR and saving $500...:sad2:
Well, I tried....

Updated total for October 2010 trip:

Booked at BC, switched to Poly, GF, POR, and finally BWI. I think we're done now.

Thank you for keeping me grounded :goodvibes I think I will stay put, just having a moment of weakness today!!! :rotfl:

I hope you are able to find a way to make the resort you desire work for your trip! :goodvibes

Personally, I have never had the CR on my top resort radar as I think out of all the resorts, the CR is my least likely choice.... only because it has a very sterile type vibe to me.....The rooms look neat (plush and luxurious), but the outer theme does not seem to encompass the whole resort like others (ie) Poly, AKL, BWI to name a few. My family has been struck by love with the whole AKL theme and enjoyed our 2 previous trips at this beautiful resort! :lovestruc

When thinking of resorts for this trip with my son, I have gone throught the list and thought about CSR, POLY, AKL, BWI and our currently booked BC.

Personally, I like the "theme" of BWI more than the BC....but I am thinking the BC is a much better choice for my teen son! (with the amazing pool and activities like the movies on the beach, pool games etc...). I also like the Cape Cod/Seaside theme, but felt when I visitied BC for dinner last September the lobby was very small and not as "exciting" as I envisioned it would be according to the rave reviews it gets.

In the end, when all is said and done, I guess we never really know how a resort will fit (needs/wants/style) until we get to try it for ourselves! With that said, I am looking forward to experiencing the BC for myself and then I will know if it is a good fit for me! :goodvibes

Have you ever stayed at the BC before? I totally understand how all-encompassing the resort choice can be!

Thanks for listening! :flower3:

DH thinks I am nuts at this point. Switched from POP to OKW. Back to POP and now am thinking about POR. The pool looks so nice. The $ for the trip would be $500, but we might not need WPFM option with POR having a pool slide. I also looked into POP for 4 nights w/free dining and GF room only. It isn't much more, however, I would have to hope we get upgraded to Sugar Loaf Concierge as we will need to pay for meals.:confused3

Okay, we did A LOT of resort talk today. My DH and I talked about a split stay, something I have never thought very cost effective before. We thought about switching our WL trip to CSR/BC!!! Does anyone know if we can do free dining at CSR for four nights and get 9 day tickets with water park fun and more and then book BC with the room only and add the dining plan without tickets? I can't seem to add dining without adding at least a 1 day ticket. What should we do? Can i use the remaining tickets from the CSR room during our BC stay?

My head is spinning from running numbers all evening. :goodvibes

No, I believe you need at least a one day ticket. That was what I was trying to figure out with the Pop/GF split stay. That is why we may have to stay where we are. OKW ended up to be too big for us and GF is too $ to stay at for 9 days and we already booked the air.

We must be married to the same man. LOL
We are at WL but dh thinks we should go with POR. He isn't a fan of the values so at least I dont' have to worry about that one. But it would save us 800.00. Plus our trip would be paid off this week if we did this.

We are booked with the 40% off but we made it a packaae and added the QSDP. So my thought is there is more options for the QSDP at POR and we have the boat to DTD. We are only going to the MK twice so I think he may be right. LOL

I booked Poly GV Club Level for October way back in February, and all was well for a long time. Mainly because I stayed off these boards!

Then the 2nd guessing started. We were at WL in Dec. and the kids loved the bunk beds, but we wanted to try another resort....switched to AKL CL.

Hmmm. Maybe too far away b/c we spend a lot of time in MK. Back to WL? No club level with a pin. Let's try Beach Club instead! Yay!

April rolls around and we find out we have a (surprise!) baby on the way! Do we cancel? No way! We just move our trip up a few weeks to mid-September and try to find a way to make it a bit more budget friendly. We are currently booked at FW Cabins and feeling pretty good about it! We love to camp, and I know the kidlets will love all the activities. Full kitchen will be nice b/c we don't really like being scheduled around ADR's. And we save $2500!

Or will we... :confused3

Don't switch from the cabins they are really nice and the Fort has so much to do. If it's in the budget rent a golf cart for your stay it's alot of fun riding in it around the Fort.

Dang it!!! Now I have to go check out the cabins.....This is brand new territory for me so I may be gone for a while....If I'm not back soon, send out a search party. We are still trying to figure out how to get to the beach club and keep our costs very near to the WL cost. :sad2:

Well called yesterday and really not much left for the mods in either the free dining or room only discount. I ended up with CBR standard room with free dining. This seem to be the best deal. Was 150.00 cheaper than going with the QSDP with the pin at a moderate.

I did check this am to see if POR opened up. The only moderate that came up was CBR Pirate room. Good thing I booked yesterday. I don't think my girls would care for a pirate room. Plus it was 300.00 more for a pirate room.

Dh is a happy camper. He don't really care but he is always happy to save money. It did save us 1170.00 over WL.

$1170.00!!!!:scared1: How did you guys save so much? I keep pricing mods and the difference isn't that much BUT we have a standard view booked at WL. I'm still trying.

I keep looking at the cabins but I'm worried about what I am reading as far as the resort being so large and the internal bus system or having to rent a golf cart. We will eat up our savings renting a golf cart.

I am looking for CR Garden standard room today! We are trying to book with the 40% code with tickets and dining. :cool1: (Next step, BC) (shhhh DH may be listening....:rolleyes1

I think I'm finally at peace with my resort changes, but it's been a long haul since I started in May.

I've always *LOVED* the look of the BC, but would never pay full price to stay there. Along comes the 40% code and I book 4 nights for late August.

Then I start to think about the kids getting older and eating more and the fact that we've never used the Dining Plan and I always feel like I'm watching pennies and eating something I don't really want to save a few bucks. So
I change to 4 nights at ASSp with the free dining. Keep one night at the BC cuz the pool is so awesome, but I have to pay extra for a pool view which I really don't want.

Now, I've changed again. One night at the BC isn't enough to get a real taste for it and the pool and the boardwalk with my teens. I've gone to 3 nights at ASSp with FD, and 2 nights at YC (standard view, no extra for pool view) with the 40% code. I kinda feel like I've got the best of both worlds - free dining for most of the trip, but still trying a fabulous deluxe near Epcot, which the kids love.

I think I'm done.....

Okay.....I have a new confession.....

I called yesterday because I had been hearing not-so-good reports about WL lately. I called and asked about CR. They found a room in the Garden Towers (?) not that familiar with CR except to say that my DS(15) is dying to stay here. I know the rooms are larger and they had a day bed in the room BUT the cost was much steeper and my DH said...."I don't think so" The voice in my head said "just book it and he will be glad that you did once you get there"....help me. I am about to change resorts.....seriously :scared1: We are set to leave in 16 more days. I felt like this last year and you all remember what happened last year........yup.....switched the 1st day we arrived....
I'm feeling  I going to :faint: I need an intervention.....

This thread is cracking me up and also making me realize I am not alone with my NEED to change resorts all the time!

Most recent chain of events since I booked our October trip back in May.

CSR
CBR Pirate room
POR
Pop Century (that change lasted five minutes)
POR
CSR waterview with free dining
Pop Century with free QSDP
CBR standard view with free dining with one night at Pop first before fd starts.

Oh yeah and in the middle of all of this, I almost switched over to WL a few times but my kids had a fit because they like a resort with lots of grounds and pools and my husband said "lets save money and stick with a mod and use the upgrade to WL money to go to DL for a quick weekend trip in January". Nuff said on that one.

I am done, if I change one more time my husband and kids may refuse to go to WDW anymore. The availablity is going fast anyway, I was shocked I could even get CBR this late in the game for fd.

Its all dumb, because I have been dying to stay at CSR again and as soon as I let that ressie go to change to Pop I had this "omg what did I just do moment".

Don't even get me started on the ADR thing. Now that I can do that online, at least its easier to do. :rotfl:
