Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

Amy, I just finished changing and rearranging my ADR's on Sunday....I think...for the last time. I keep saying that I want Chefs de France to see remy one more time but I can't get it so I decided to leave it alone...until we get there. I will have to check each day of my trip. Still circling around the telephone wanting to switch to CR.....

I love reading this thread, it makes me feel "normal" hahahahhahaha!!!! We leave in 26 days and I am still not happy and second guessing myself. We switched to POR to save some $$$$ I thought that would be smarter, but I just wasn't thrilled with POR, but since there are 5 of us that was pretty much the pick of the mods. Then we thought MIL was going with us and we were gonna move to CBR, then I was sad cuz I had read enough about POR that I had changed my mind and kinda wanted to stay there. BUT as of now MIL isn't going so we are back to POR which now I am disappointed again because I had decided if it was just the 5 of us I would rent points again and stay at AKL. Now we are under the 45 day mark so there is no cancelling. We leave in 26 days people!!!! I haven't been in almost 3 years you would think I would be happy enough just going back but NNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I'm not satisfied. I really need help.

I just switched Tuto for Le Chefs about five minutes ago! I was up until 2:00 messing with all this stuff. I went and whispered to my husband about 11:00 (poor guy was almost asleep) "would you rather stick with Tony's or go to Kona our last day". Poor guy!

I feel for you! I will say, POR is wonderful. Your kids will love the pools and the food court is the best on property. Get the pasta bowl, its delish and enough to share. We love the boat to DTD and also love having POFQ right there to dine and swim at as well.

Of course what do I know, I switched POR not once but twice. Its my favorite mod (really my favorite resort) but for some unknown reason I couldn't leave well enough alone!

:lmao::rotfl2: I keep doing this and my DH keeps saying...."We don't CARE where we eat.....REALLY we don't." :rotfl:

My3, I never went to Disney as a child so why am I obsessing? In fact, we are satisfied with going to Disney, I think we are perfectionists. Just trying to make it the BEST it can be.....and driving ourselves crazy in the process...:goodvibes

Wow! That's almost exactly what my DH says to me. I'm constantly asking him about his restaurant preferences, and he is so exasperated. Glad to know I'm not the only one! :lmao:

:rotfl2: Do you completely ignore his statement and continue asking him? :lmao: I keep saying things like "remember, Chefs has Remy and we LOVE Remy....right?.....(sound of crickets......dead silence.....snoring....):rotfl:

Okay.....I have a new confession.....

I called yesterday because I had been hearing not-so-good reports about WL lately. I called and asked about CR. They found a room in the Garden Towers (?) not that familiar with CR except to say that my DS(15) is dying to stay here. I know the rooms are larger and they had a day bed in the room BUT the cost was much steeper and my DH said...."I don't think so" The voice in my head said "just book it and he will be glad that you did once you get there"....help me. I am about to change resorts.....seriously :scared1: We are set to leave in 16 more days. I felt like this last year and you all remember what happened last year........yup.....switched the 1st day we arrived....
I'm feeling  I going to :faint: I need an intervention.....

The Garden Rooms are in a separate building from the main. They are those short two-story ones behind the main hotel. My sister stayed there a few years back in a 2br suite and said it was a long walk to get to everything. Hope this helps.

Heeey there nonsmom! It's almost time for our annual summer vacation. We always seem to go at the same time. When you say far away, do you mean from the monorail or from the MK. I never knew that they had other buildings at the CR. In other words, do you take the monorail to the main building and then walk to another building? Is it a covered walk way? About how far.

OP, I hope you don't mind me asking a question here without having to start a thread...my flip-flopping is seriously stressing me OUT!!

I currently have:

Sep 30-Oct 2 AKL Savannah View (Orbitz deal)
Oct 2-9 POR Standard View (FD)

= Approx $2700

Now I am looking at changing to:

Oct 4-11 POR Standard View (FD)
Oct 11-13 Poly CL (40%)

= Approx $3200

I started off with original reservation at WL...then AKL...now ALK/POR...and I have also booked a room only at Poly while I continue to make my decision. It is our 15 yr anniversary and hubby wants to keep it under 3K if at all possible. I love AKL and the reason it at the beginning of our stay is the killer deal I got through Orbitz....however, CL/Poly toward the end of our stay is really enticing...but ALK/POR is WAY cheaper. HELP!!

Looks like you have stayed at WL before, when you take the boat to MK, they are the little buildings right next to the water. They have balconies or patios. I don't believe they have covered walkways. Not good for when we go, but neither does Poly. The walk is not too bad, probably 5 minutes or less from the garden wing. You walk to the main, then take the monorail. I am a WL lover, not just because of the theme in the place, but mostly because of the layout.

We don't stay in the deluxes anymore, because we can't justify it. As much as my heart will always be at WL, we are going back to POP. My DS's have not stopped talking about POP since we left. Plus, DH and I will be married 10 yrs. in Dec. and will be going to Jamaica in March. Staying at POP allows us to go on another whole vacation. :cool1:

I went to Disney almost every year since I was 6 with a few times to DL in CA, but we NEVER stayed on property. Of course there was only CR and Poly at the time and only MK and Discovery Island for parks. Never did get to River Country.

I am a perfectionist when it comes to my trip because I feel like my WDW experience began when I had my DS's. Now I am making there dreams come true! They have no idea how much time I put into planning. DH does :rotfl2:

I booked free dining for next year. I booked CR but checked out AKL and may have to change. Got a great price. We are doing a short Disney trip next year coupled with a longer Universal/IOA (I figured wait a year for all of the kinks to get worked out and FOTL access for HP). Then we will drive to Tampa for Busch Gardens for a couple of days. I thought it would be a great way to stay at CR (shorter stay) but the AKL price with the free dining is calling my name!! (I am sure that I will change my mind a million times before then). Somewhere, in the back of my mind, BC is still shouting my name......Will this be the BC/YC year for us???!!! Maybe a villa would be better since we are traveling so much and a washer and dryer in the room would be great....hmmmmm Going CRAZY thinking of next year when we have 10 days to go before we are at WL ....or wherever we end up this year.....Will I keep my reservation at WL? Will I switch at check-in? Can I leave my reservations for next year alone for 1 DAY!!!! We will see.

Yesterday I booked by 2011 resort....CR. I changed today. I kept CR but I changed the view to standard and I changed the dates...I also checked AKL......AND WE'RE OFF.....

StepD, how did you book for free dining 2011? What offer did you see?

For us, it's always been between AKL and YC. The reservation we've had for a while now is a standard view room at AKL w/FD. YC just seemed too expensive at first. Then we decided to upgrade to APs (we're doing a 10-day trip and we're already Premium AP-holders at DL). Well, now they've come out with the AP rates, and it's 42% off at YC, but only for a water view. Still, that's $50 more a night for an upgrade from AKL standard to YC water. DH still likes the theming at AKL more, but we both like the location of YC. At the moment, our TA has been MIA, so we've still got the AKL reservation with her, and I just put a hold on the YC room. Looks like we might end up being resort changers.

Wow, I'm so HAPPY that I found this thread. I am not a resort-changer, I delay making my reservation because I keep changing my mind where to stay. I don't know why it never dawned on me to book and then change my reservation if - I mean when - I change my mind again. Right now I'm thinking about a split stay between CBR and POR. I'm just not sure if a one week stay is worth a split stay.

:yay: FD is one of the new offers out on the Disney site. It extends until Sept. 29, 2011 :cheer2: I booked it now instead of bounceback just in case the room category I wanted was gone. Go to the site and look under "special offers." I lot of folks are booking the room only discounts but they seem rather weird to me. AKL is only 25% off and lumped in with the values???? I would do FD at AKL if I were to switch.

Hi Sophie :wave2: Subtle is the transition into resort changeritis. Most tip-toe into it :tiptoe: You are, indeed, a resort changer. Admitting it is the first step....:goodvibes I absolutely LOVE YC/BC and will actually stay there one day....:goodvibes

Hemlock, Hemlock, Hemlock. :sad2: Yes, you ARE a resort changer. :grouphug: You are what we call the "failure to launch" resort changer. Don't be timid. Make those reservations and Change, change, change!!! The Disney resort reservation cue calls it "resort modifications". Sounds better than "Changing Your Mind AGAIN.";)

I just returned to say HI everyone:) !!!!!

And that I am cured! LOL

Havent even touched my res for sept/oct!
Still at YC CL..(doing the 1/2 Wine and Dine) and then AKV Jambo!

And have POFQ for Dec...even with the codes and AP code...I did not waiver!!!!

Good luck to everyone else:)

Ok, I admit it, I am a resort changer. Since this whole saga began, we've changed packages within AKL several times, and are now switching to YC. Our TA seems a little frustrated, especially since I did the YC reservation myself this morning (am going to turn it over to the TA, though, since she's done a lot of work for us). She said we're not the worst clients, or even the most complicated...but we're kind of complicated :lmao:
