Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

So last year, my sister and I decided to take our Mom to Disney for her 74th birthday. I booked POFQ, things were great. Then we heard about the Family Suites at ASMU and thought 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, sounded heavenly, so I switched. Then about a month before the trip, I thought WL might be much better for Mom to be able to come back and rest since it's so close to MK, etc. And we switched to WL.

This year I'm taking Mom back again for her 75th birthday!

I booked WL again with a 40% off PIN. Yay! Then, of course, did some math and saw that it was "only" $600. more to stay at GF where she has always wanted to stay. Well, switched my res to GF. Last week I switched back to WL because I haven't bought our flights yet and they are about $500. and I just couldn't justify spending that much for GF without airfare booked yet. Aaaargh!!!

So, I'm in the club!! I just paid off WL today, so I won't be switching!!!!!

We are staying at the WL this year for the same reason, we want to be near MK. (Though BLT would also be a great choice). We'll see, especially since I may have to change the dates and dinners for my entire trip.

OK, I am about to change a lot of things. My dates are about to change pending a new job offer (hopefully) and a firm starting date. We may add Harry Potter for two at the beginning, we may cut Disney a bit short and we may be looking at DVC's....stay tuned.....

I am in the process of switching from Beach Club to the Poly. Doesn't make a whole lot of logistical sense, but it just feels right. With almost six months before the trip, I wonder how long this will last. LOL.

I have gone from POR to POP and now I am leaning toward WL depending on pin codes and or promos. its gonna be a looong 7 months!!!!!

Amy, lift up your head, nothing to be ashamed of here, confession is the first step toward change.....um.....I mean changing......well you know what I mean Our changes don't have to make sense, they just have to be available the right week, the right view, the right resort for THAT moment, however long it lasts (I've changed during check in ) Glad to have you over here where changing is our middle name.

Ok..its been 3 years now....and I am still not cured of this affliction! LOL

Hey ya stepdisney.....seems just like yesterday when you couldnt decide between WL or AKL...oh wait, that was 3 years ago...boy have things changed! LOL LOL

SO my last change was for my DH...they were suppose to go to Disney's HHI...and then we changed to SSR for a golf trip. He and his friends LOVED it...just got back.

I was suppose to be staying at AKV for part of my F & W stay in Oct....but just changed!
Managed (convinced...) a quick 4 nighter at end of June, so cancelled AKV and booked SSR for June...now I have nowhere to stay for my last 2 nights in Oct! LOL

What to do ..what to do?!LOL Staying at YC CL first 3 nights on a BB rate with my friend...will need to recuperate as I am doing the 1/2 WIne and Dine Run!
So I guess anywhere will do..will just need a chaise lounge by a pool, any pool...ok, maybe not POP! LOL

Hi my name is Tracey and I am also a resort changer. I am booked at Pop at the moment but plan on changing to CBR when/if free dining is announced. Then if CSR ever opens up I plan on switching to CSR for my dates. My conference is at CSR so that is why the switch. Right now the conference has the whole hotel booked so I keep waiting and hoping.

I have also considered POFQ and the cabins at the campground.

Hi ya Disneybride!!! I can't believe Ava will be 4.....seems like just yesterday..Oh wait THAT was 3 years ago!!!! I had a conversation with DH about what to do if I get this new position and we have to switch and I can't get WL. (I was hoping he would FINALLY say book BC/YC but.......he says what about AKL.... The more things change, they more they stay the same even when you're changing them....I know all of the resort changers got that one! I have what seems like 1 million Scenarios on a spread sheet and I still don't know WHEN we are going. I can't take this much longer. I don't want to wait until they announce free dining (and I KNOW they will Tracy oh and Welcome to this crazy wacky world of resort changing). What I'm most worried about is that they will announce FD and we won't be able to change our BB to WL resort by the time I hear from the school.......What to do?????? I know we are going but I don't know when or where we will be staying. So far it's WL Aug 29 - Sept 6 on the books and that is when my ADR's are scheduled..... I've been scheduling more but they are not connected to my resort stay.....because I haven't cha cha cha changed it yet... I'm going crazy over here.......

My travel agent is really going to kill me.

I was booked at BC, then Poly. Then, this week, after all the anti-Poly threads, decided to price out GF, and decided GF was a better option for us.

We are the same way. We suffer from indecision!

Our first trip we booked at POR with a king size bed.. we moved to CBR after being lied to by our travel agent. We had to pay to upgrade to a kingsize bed. The resort was okay.

Then again last year. We went from AKL to OKW. Switched from OKW to SSR. The switch to OKW was a good one. SSR is a good resort, but it is pretty far from everything!

We haven't even booked yet this year and we're between WL and the Poly! Who knows. We might end up switching to the GF after that.

I think I've finally settled on the Poly for now. I just hate reading all these bad reviews about it lately However, as I just posted in another thread, I guess you really never know if it's for you until you experience it for yourself We aren't going until September so hopefully they will have the issues worked out by then When are you going?

Oct! So you'll be there a full month ahead of us.

Everytime I go on the thread, I fall in love with the pictures. I do love the WL lodge though so it will be a total shoot on what we actually end up with.

A friend of mine just got back from a Spring Break stay at the BC She said they had always been monorail lovers and they have stayed at GF, CR, and the Poly, but the BC was their new favorite resort. They have 3 kids and she said the SAB pool was awesome.....Hmmm...Am I talking myself into the beach club

I've always wanted BC because I LOVE the Epcot area. I grew up on the Jersey Shore (Yes, fist pumping Jersey Shore) and the boardwalk area is very authentic. My DH thinks it would be too loud and said that if we are spending that kind of money, he wants a view of SOMETHING. (I think Epcot is a great view!!) Anyway, I'm hoping SAB is enough to sell him next time. We can't do it this year but hopefully next visit.....unless we hit the lottery.....or eat hamburger and start walking instead of driving until August, THEN we can do it this year!!! We did consider Contemporary Resort this time.....it is still my DS (15)'s dream resort. Sarah, I think BC is calling YOUR name!!!!

Oh no its happening again!!!!!

So I was sold on WL but then I was thinking what the hey since I'm just dreaming lets price out YC/BC/BW/GF/POLY/CR see what we come up with! Now I am leaning toward BW or if I get rich in the next few weeks GF. Then my mother and I start talking about how great CL is Now we want to go all out! But I am pretty sure this is gonna get out of control!! Im trying not to change my resort until A. I get a 40% off pin or B. the winter deals come out. But everyday I get the urge to call DISNEY and just "Price things out". Which really means upgrade w/o consulting anyone! LOL!!! I cant take this!!! DISboard makes me sooo crazy!!! I love it!! But I am so informed of my possibilities now that I cant turn back!!! AHHHHHH Its gonna be a LOOOOOOOONG 7 months!!
