Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

 I've been checking online every day for the Poly to open up for our dates (Mar 23-30) & you know how they pop up w/ alternate offers when what you've requested is not available? Well GF IS available! Ahh the irony.

Please humor me, thinking as I type...so we were booked CBR for $1400 then switched to WL for $2300 then this would be :scared1: $3300! How can I justify that. I really can't, although DH said, do what you want, it's so much more money.:sad2: ETA: it IS a theme park view!!!:rotfl2:

:flower3: Thanks for listening.....

Speaking from experience- DO NOT change from WL to the GF. It's not worth it. The rooms are a little bigger and it's on the monorail-2 things that some would consider a +. Until you've stayed at the WL, you can't understand just how great it is.
Use the extra money to have nicer meals OR to save towards another trip!

Hi all!!

Kaffinito kindly directed me this way after I posted this thread.

Glad to know I'm not alone!!

A little about me:

I'm Victoria, and I'm 23 from the UK.

I am a serial holiday over planner!!

Last year it took me weeks to decide which resort to go for at Disneyland Paris (and they only have 5!) so I'm sure you can imagine my dilemma with my upcoming WDW trips!!

I am going this september. And my Dbf and I don't want to spend out for Deluxe (will next year as once we've signed our wedding cotract we'll recieve free APs and can get discounts!).

So basically I've considered every Mod (and Pop) over and over and over again. Each spending time at the top of my favourites list!

CSR is currently winning....but that's only since yesterday, as yesterday morning it was POFQ, after POP being Wednesday winner......

Oh dear!

Glad you came over! :goodvibes I was reading your post and could really relate to you! I changed my mind so many times over that it was spinning before my last trip. I also forgot my original dates so I had to call CRO to confirm them (and to make sure I knew where we were staying!)

We are a bunch of truly terrible enablers here - if you need encouragement to change (reservations that is) we will certainly help with advice!

If you are having a hard time choosing, make a spreadsheet with the pros and cons of each. (Transportation, food court, ease to get around resort, room size) Decide what's most important to you and then start eliminating the resorts that don't fit. And, you could always do a split stay! :teeth:

Yeah - ive been considering a split stay...

does it work out the same $$ wise?

Is it a hassle changing resorts? as we're only here for a week I worry it'll take a park day away...

If it's just you and your DBF I woud suggest staying at a moderate, unless you stay at the parks all day. We stayed at Pop in October with our kids and we really liked it, but both DH and I agreed that it's not where we would stay if it were just the two of us. The mods just have more landscaping and the theming is more understated. Plus you can book a queen bed at the mods. (You can only request one at the values.)

Thank you. Yeah I think we will go for a Mod, as that way we can have a fridge and maybe a bit more peace and quiet.

Humm. For a week it would in a way. I did a split stay (or two) last trip and we would check out of one place, drive to the next and check in again. I didn't have a problem with the rooms, they were all available when we went to check in. I even got two upgraded rooms, which is unusual. We would check in, check out the resort, and then hit the parks. But we were also there for 13 days, so we had the leisure time to do that.

The bulk of the trip was spent at POP, which I would highly recommend to save some $$$. The transportation was good, the food court was crowded but the food itself was really good - best we've found so far on WDW property - and the pools were adequate. One of the few complaints I have about POP is the lack of a hot tub and not enough shade at the pools.

Overall I found that I ended up spending the same amount of money with a split between a value and a deluxe as I would have spent staying at a mod the whole time, so to save $$ value is the way to go. :)

That too! ::yes::

Sign me up for the dis-ease!!! I, too, am addicted to changing resorts....sigh...

I started out at the Poly for my 3 kids and I in May. My sister decided to bring her entire clan and she chose POP. I changed over to POP to be with all of them. I didn't want to do that so I changed to BC - who cares if we are all 2gether? I mean geesh!!! Well my sister cares but so what!! LOL!!

Then my dh decided to come with us. I changed back to POP with 2 rooms. Then last night I looked at all of my ADR's and they are all around the MK. I called to remove my DH from my ressie cuz he can't get the days off like he thought he could so I was gonna switch to the GF but they had me on hold 4-ever so I hung up and called back awhile later and right now I am staying at......
Pop.
Still. I am pretty sure that I am gonna change my mind though and move even though my sister will be mad at me. I just want to stay close to the MK. I can't justify taking a bus and transferring to here and there. Sounds like a pain. POP is nice and all but I want more.... heavy sigh.....

So my name is Michelle and I am a resort changer. Please tell me it's gonna be alright!! LOL!!!

I've changed once since making the reservation from a moderate to a value. And unless times change and my business picks up we'll be staying at a value. It actually doesn't really bother me:) As long as I can go to Disney, I'm happy. The last trip I went overboard and changed about 7 times...I won't do that again.

Yes, I agree with you. As long as we can go to Disney and my kids are happy, that would be fine for me. :)

I do changes and make a final decision twice :rotfl:

Hi Michelle!

That cracked me up!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I'm Victoria, and I am a resort changer too! And a Dining Plan changer AND a date changer!

Victoria,
I am right there with ya - dining plan changer here too!!!
So many decisions, so many choices...
I think I am becoming decision challanged. Yes, that it's. I can't make a decision and stick with it becuase the choices are all just so GOOD and there are too many to choose from - my head is spinning!!

If I knew for sure my sister wouldn't kill me for staying someplace else I would be on the phone right this very minute changing. Again. But since I can't be sure I'll stick with this plan at least until next week!! HA HA HA!

:lmao: I am definitely decision challenged!

I would SO stay at the Poly over Pop. I know it's a shame for your sister you aren't all together, but its a shame for your family to be at Pop when they could've been at Poly!

I know - I am choosing Pop over Poly -what IS the matter with me? Actually the Poly doesn't have any opening for our week in May (should never had changed it in the first place - live and learn!) I check daily on the website and when I called the other night - nope, nothing available there.

If I do change it will probably be to the GF just because I know what to expect and all I will have to do is take the monorail to most of the places I have reservations to. Just makes sense to me. I now have to decide if it's worth it dollar wise. I never even made this much fuss buying my house but Disney - watch out can't make any decisions!!! LOL!

Haha! Moving house was easy! This is our vacation we're talking about!

How about contemporary? Better prices! Even YC/BC/BW has good transport. :)

Or boat from WL!

Having re read my last post - I realise it's like waving a pizza, burger, fries AND a cake at someone on a diet!

Sorry!

Oh it's ok!! All in good fun. Really I am kicking myself but I did that long before your post - even my kids said it to me last night - shoulda kept the Poly mom!!

Don't apologize - really it is funny if you think about it - people usually upgrade not the other way around!!!!

Haha, yeah.

At disneyland paris you get charged for downgrading. But I've only ever upgraded. I think they rely on people doing that. I know once I've paid for a Mod and the money is all cleared from my account I'll look up the upgrade price and be tempted.

But we'll be getting APs for free next year when we sign our wedding contract, so I wont go deluxe until our official planning trip. Then I think we'll go BW or WL and do a GF/Ploy combo for the wedding itself. :)

torsie24 -

Where in the world have you been posting!?!?! You joined a month after me, and yet have 3,000 more posts than I do - and I LIVE on the DIS!

:rotfl:
