Ha Ha, thanks for checking for me. OK, but I really don't think I'm going change this time :rotfl: ! I got the call back and they have confirmed we are now @ Poly in a LV concierge room! (It was the only open category) Pinch me!!!!! :cloud9: I love Disney!!!! Of course, I told my kids that "next " trip we'll go stay at CSR in one of those darn club rooms :rolleyes1 !!!

Am over the moon for you!!!:yay: :yay:

Hey Disneybride03! Thanks for the pixie dust. I don't know why I checked, but just found that the airfare to MCO is now 1/3 the cost of when we booked. I used all my frequent flier miles to book our tickets that would now cost us pennies on the dollar :headache: which I could have used for another trip - why did I have to look? Well, hopefully everthing will continue smoothly until our departure. Good thing I did check, for some reason they gave away our seats, and now we are in the back of the plane, but at least we have seats, and better to find out today than on the day of departure. Continental said most likely we booked elite seats, which we can reclaim 24 hours in advance if no one elite wants them. Well, a good dose of reality until we check into the Poly. Now if only I could figure out how to change my ticker....:rolleyes1

Oh my gosh! I am so happy for you! Talk about a great upgrade!!!!

Ok here is a serious question for all of you.

If your DH offered you the chance to buy a place near Orlando so that you could vacation at WDW anytime you wanted to, would you do it?

Think about it, it means no more resorts, no more planning, no more endless hours in front of the computer searching for the perfect resort.

However, it does mean that you can go three times a year and stay for a week or two or three and go to WDW as many times as you want.

So, would you go for it if you were me?

Wow, what a great DH! Thats a tough choice for me. I like all the planning, the back and forth, changing and imagining all the possibilities:surfweb: . So I probably would start with making a spread sheet, crunching numbers, looking at condos and homes, areas to buy, decorating themes, when to travel, and numberous scenarios and options, etc. Then after all of that..... I would change my mind :rotfl: . Of course, that is just me :sad2: No, really - I don't know what I would do? I don't know if I would want to lock myself in, so I am on the fence on this one! Great question!

Well gang, I just cancelled June. I feel good about it, DH was really adamant about not going back so soon (this was a bounceback that I booekd while we were at GF in Nov). I wasn't feeling that great about my 30% off price, $295 a night for a wing room at the CR for Pete's sake. Maybe something better will come along, if not there's always the beach!

I don't think so... I like staying at the resorts, I'm not sure I would enjoy WDW as much if I had a house in Orlando. How a house near DL would be another story.

Would it mean that our fearless change leader would not be cha cha changing any more? I'd say DON'T DO IT ;) . No, seriously, I would think about how often I would want to travel to Orlando a year. While it would be great during the Holidays (not having to FIND a place to stay, I'd still miss staying on site. If you are a three-times-per-year person (you and disneybride for sure) then I would consider it because you can, like you said, go for weeks at a time whenever you want. I'd miss the planning and staying on site and the wonderful deal shopping. I wouldn't miss the price increases and you WOULD be able to take advantage of the Fla. residents deals that would help with dining and tickets...so, in a nutshell, I'm not sure :scared1: :faint: Hope this helps. :scared:

The main reason we booked bounceback for Aug./Sept. was because we got free dining AND 30% off villa room (saved a HUGE amount). I think it's great to book it when it's available but cancel after rethinking. Last year we didn't book bounceback free dining and then had to sit around and wait until it was offered:scared: . I think you did the right thing. Here's to a better offer pixiedust:

You gals are right. Most of the fun in going to Disney is the planning, and most of the planning centers on the "right" resort.

Yep, if we had a house then no more changing. No more resort price/amenity comparison spreadsheets. No more changing my mind and then changing it back. No more CRO on speed dial. No more "deal shopping" and no more, well, fun.

I get a lot of satisfaction from finding the best deal and the best price, and from choosing the "right" resort. Having a house near WDW would be boring!!! Now DVC wouldn't be so bad, but then again you still can't change, and you do get a better deal if you rent points instead of buying a membership.

I think I'll just look at places in the Smokies and have done with it... ARGGHH! :scared: Thanks for all of your help/advice! :thanks:

Wouldn't ya know it, I cancelled yesterday morning, opened the mailbox yesterday afternoon and have the 40% off mailer!!!!!!! THey're out to get us (or at least our $$$$$$$$). I promise to hold firm and not book.............

even with prices like mods for $111 a night and values for $69, and, get this, WL, CY view for $204 per night (these are all for June 1-5)

Tough break, with prices like those, it might be hard to hold out! ;)

It's the pixie dust I tell ya, its the pixie dust.....((ya might want to reconsider... )

maybe this is not where I should be asking :lmao: but ...
:santa: Christmas surprise - DH said to book the 4/3 deal for spring  actually a big surprise :cool1: I was shocked

very quickly (don't have to ask me twice :lmao: ) booked CBR - this is in DH's top 2 of resorrts w/ the Poly being the other - really he likes them equally since they both have top notch pool complexes

then later that day (please see my previous post) he said, maybe we should be closer to MK for you so changed to WL, then he said go closer, so CR BUT after reading the resort thread found the main pool will be closed to be redone for our trip dates so that put CR on the no go list, back to CBR

so now I am here :surfweb: on the resort changers thread (aka enablers :rotfl2: club) asking .:rolleyes1 ......... what if I switch back to WL? We've never stayed there. How is the main pool complex? Is it worth the extra $600 over CBR?

I would be really grateful for your opinions.

:flower3: Please help!:flower3:

Okay, one I can answer. We stayed at WL and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. You cannot beat the price for that location. We could literally hear the fireworks from MK (and see some of the high ones). Those who were on the MK side could see them I'm sure. I Love the theming and the pool is very, very nice. My children liked the pool a lot and there is a quiet pool by WLV that you can also use. Taking the boat back and forth from MK is very convenient and anywhere we wanted to eat was fair game because MK closed so late and we could always take a bus to MK or even take the Monorail to CR and and there was a boat back to WL...easy as pie. You can walk to the campgrounds if you are game or take a boat or bike over through the trail (early in the day of course.) It is a very cozy resort with a beautiful lobby and great bus service. :thumbsup2 I've never heard anyone say that they regretted choosing WL. At one time it was the resort most returned to. :thumbsup2 I'd say it was worth the extra $ for the location. The resort is one of the smallest resorts and if it rains the bus drops you off right in front and there is a covered walkway from the bus to the lobby with interior hallways:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hope this helps. WL gets my vote.

Welcome to the thread!
I'd change from CBR to WL in a heartbeat. Keep your eyes open for discounts in your time period.

deardaisy, this IS the place for you. I see your list of resort changes and options....pretty impressive. :lmao:

WL? Heck yeah! My girls thoroughly enjoyed the pool and I liked the fact that the slide comes in in a not so deep area. Rooms are noticibly smaller than say, the ones at GF, Poly and CR, but not bad. Plus, they do have bunk bed rooms if that would help you any.

:flower3: why thank you :rotfl2: I think:flower3:

this is an adults trip, will we enjoly WL as much w/out kids??
DH loves the pool more than the parks so how is the WL main pool compared to pirate: CBR's??

thanks!!
