Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

I am going to have to join the Resort Changers. In the past I haven't changed resorts too much, just added days or changed dates. For our upcoming January trip we were booked at WL the week after MLK. We decided to save some money and switch to CSR, but had to change dates to do this. When the code came out we kept CSR, but added the dining plan. Then we saw that we could switch to Contemporary Garden Wing for only a little more than we had planned on spending at CSR, so we changed again. This will be our first time in a Deluxe and we can't wait. I am afraid we may get a bit spoiled though!

What dates exactly did you switch for CSR? I just found some online and am wondering if they are yours! I'm still trying to convert CSR's club room to the promo, but keep being told no! I'm on hold right now with someone (fingers crossed) that seems like they may be able to help as I want to get that darn $200 gift card. My poly choice (wishful thinking) is no longer available. I really did want to upgrade, but my pocketbook says otherwise. Well now that it's official and I have Disneyitis, I'm sure this won't be my last trip!!!! OK, agent now saying no to club room and package, so I "switched" to water view room with package!!!

I am so glad to see this thread! I thought only I had a problem making up my mind! We started at POFQ then Cont. now we are at the Beach Club! Help I can't stop!!!
Do you think the CMs think we are crazy? Can they see from our past history how much we changed our ressies??

Welcome dear sister. Can't stop? We all know how you feel. Fortunately Disney has automatic stoppers: 45 day marker, penalties, running out of rooms in the category or resort you've planned to switch.... Other than that, we just switch and switch and when we are not switching resorts, we encourage others to switch resorts...

This is becoming ridiculous!
Originally had Contemporary Garden Wing, Garden View before discount came out.
Switched to Contemporary Tower Bay Lake View, still before discount.
Switched to Contemporary Tower Magic Kingdom View, still before discount.
Switched to Polynesian Garden View because the discount came out as there was nothing available at the Contemporary with the discount.
Today, Switched back to the Contemporary Garden Wing, Garden View with the discount!
Now I just have to keep looking if the discount becomes available in the Tower for my dates.
Maybe I'll end up back in the Theme Park view. Its like a merry-go-round!

Well, this morning I made one more step back towards my dream room!
Switched to Contemporary Tower Bay Lake View with the discount!
Availability is changing all the time. All I need is the Tower Magic Kingdom View again!
Let's see, five changes to my reservation so far? In my defense, I've always wanted the Contemporary Tower Magic Kingdom View!

After crunching numbers, I went with POFQ, 5 nights, DDP, get my 2-ONE day passes (will save) and that gift card DD11 thinks is HERS!! LOL
She said $100 for me and a $100 for you mom!
(But then she said I would spend my portion the first day!! lol)

I am happy with my price now...really wanted to try CSR...but it was over $600 to keep the CL...

In other news, I bought a pop up camper over the weekend, and DH actually thinks that now I won't go to WDW! He seems to think that a pop up will keep me from going to see the Mouse! What a dreamer he is. I'll still go to the world, but now I might just stay at FW and camp.

DisneyBride'03 - glad to see you found a resort for the discount. It would be a shame to pass up that deal!

Okay today I am officially changing my ressies to the Beach Club for the second part of our trip. The first 5 days we will be at AKL villas so I know I will not get any kind of deal for those days but here's hoping for a code and or free dining for the end of August!

I can't believe you changed again. DH and I will be going to POFQ in September so I'd love to hear about your trip. Of course, you could change your mind before then.

Hi I'm Amy and I suffer from Changemytripandresortitis! I am glad I am not alone in this disease

For our Trip in May:

Booked for 2 adults ASMU
Cancelled ASMu and booked 2 adults POR
Cancelled POR and booked 3 Adults (grandma joined the group) ASMu
Cancelled ASMu and rebooked POR again
on our Pay off Due Date we cancelled POR and upgraded to 3 adults at AKL.

SO far for 2009 we have:

Booked February at ASMu cancelled and rebooked for May at ASMu
Cancelled ASMu and booked at Grand Floridian.

I promised mom no more changes and as long as we get past Dec 20th without changing I'll be stuck with GF as the promotion won't be offered and I won't want to lose it

Any guesses on how long I make it?

Gosh, I love all you guys! All these changes and updates, make me feel like I am not alone , I am among kindred spirits! OK, for the lowdown, today I was able to change the new water view room reservation at CSR back to the Club room (which is want I originally wanted) but Guest Services has yet to call back and confirm that they were able to re-book my first night under the package, since it is not coming up as availalble even though I have a reservation - huh? Yes I know, confusing, but I think I got it worked out! Anyhow, with all this back and forth, I think I am going to stay committed to CSR club rooms - yeah Keeping my fingers crossed that Guest Services calls back with good news. They said they would call me by Wed. of this week and said they thought they could do it. Was this close to saying forgetaboutit and moving on to the Poly!!!! Thank you Disney - I think it only took about 15 trys to get it done ha ha, I'm exagerating, it was only about 12!!!!

We switched our 1/24-1/31 trip to Contemporary. We had switched it on 11/7.

Thanks for the reply. My dates are 1/22 - 1/27. My dilemna is that 1/22 is not available on the package, so I have a room only reservation for that night. Then, I have the 4/3 package for 1/23-1/27. (paying for 4 getting 0 free, plus having to pay for 1 extra night) So much for the "free" nights. but I get that darn gift card .I finally asked what it would take to just "comp" me the first night, since I really wasn't able to get any 'free" nights . Anyhow, I hope this drama concludes soon! Maybe they will call back tomorrow and say they figured out how to give it to me "free".

well we booked 1/31-2/7........then got the buy4get3 and rejoiced at the $550 + $200 gift card we are getting.......now my mind is wandering......we could stay at Boardwalk or Yacht Club for the same price as our original booking........or maybe we could just book 2 rooms at the POP and have more space-we have not been at any of these resorts yet.......what to do, what to do

I loved the Boardwalk resort and since I believe SAB will be under rehab at the YC I would vote for Boardwalk. The resort has a great location, the building is gorgeous, we found the staff to be very helpful and very kind!

If your worried about cost then either stay where you are or go with POP but if cost isn't a worry then go with BWI!!

Now: 2 rooms at POP Century for same people, same tickets $1875.83, but since we have two ressies, we get 2 - $200 gift cards

Staying cheaper for a trip we really have not planned for and recieving $400 in gift cards beat our idea of Boardwalk or the Yacht Club. Also, the rooms at both BWI and YC are only about 390sq ft........by having 2 at POP, we get a total of 520 sq ft.

CM said since everyone lives at same address we are gauranteed joining rooms, and we booked two different ressies to get the 2 gift cards!

Our first trip on site was with two rooms at pop and it is still the kids favorite trip. There are only 4 of us but it was GREAT with the children having their own room AND beds, AND bathroom. I think you mad a wise choice although I am dying to stay at BC (we had that booked but switched to SSR and then OKW when we got a crazy wonderful deal, free dining and a room discount!!) I'm still holding but am looking for a deal that will allow us to stay at the villas at BC.)
