Resort Changers--The Saga Continues.....

I am pretty sure the reason for changing resorts so often is to either save money or find a better deal...but is that the only reason people change resorts so much before they settle in on one? I hate switching rooms, I like to decide on something and stick with it...no matter what. Once I decide that is IT:thumbsup2 But you did make me curious as to the benefits of the continuous changing of resorts...inquiring minds want to know:laughing:

Um, I think it called changeritis, and it is contagious:lmao: !!!

OK, I just read that and I didn't mean to sound snooty. Really, I think the reason that I keep changing is that all the resorts look so good, I want to stay at them all.

It's now official. We are Polynesian bound in May :dance3: Now, off to change that siggie!

Wow! 17 nights is a long time  (This is the closest I could come to green with envy.) What about adding 2 days onto your BC stay and then heading to RPR and making it a 12 day trip? It is a package, but I can't remember how much change and cancellation fees are.

Adding 2 nights is a good idea! I'm booked with my DVC points but I could cancel and then just use those pts. for our Thanksgiving trip next Nov.!
Hmmm, I'll think about that tonight. Thank-you!!!!!!!!

Yep! But I call it "switcheritis" :lmao:

Think Pink Tink, I was not a resort changer until the Free Dining promo came out last April. Then I started changing resorts like a madwoman. I really loved our first resort, but now would like to try several of them. Whenever I see a new promo come out, the first thing I want to do is switch dates or resorts to grab the promo, which is where the illness comes in!

Oh no, is this an omen? Our thread has been changed from resorts to rates :rotfl: ha ha even our thread has to switch!!!

This happened last time too! (With our resort changing thread)

We're not really talking ABout resorts, just changing them! LOL

That explains why I had such a hard time finding us this morning! Well, that and not enough coffee.... :surfweb:

So where did everyone end up? I lost track of the options/changes last night. Any updates?

I have an "unplanned" trip planned in May thanks to the new code.

After changing room cateory and ticket package multiple times, several in the first few hours after booking...

...now it is the dates. I keep waffling back and forth on when to go. So...if any of you have experience in May...could you share which time in May you enjoyed the most (least lovebugs, best weather, crowd level)?

The first week, 2nd week 3rd week or week just before Memorial Day...thanks.

And if it this is the wrong spot for a question like this, please just ignore it!:fish:

Happy planning!

May is our favorite time to go!!!! We have been during the first week and during the last week (Memorial Day week). I would say that early May was definitely less busy than Memorial Day week. But Memorial Day week was not bad at all. Some things to keep in mind about late May. At times, Star Wars weekends have been held in late May (not last year though). Also, it may land on Gay Days. We were there during Gay Days and it did make for more crowds at MK. But it was a festive atmosphere, so the crowds were not bad either.

This is becoming ridiculous!
Originally had Contemporary Garden Wing, Garden View before discount came out.
Switched to Contemporary Tower Bay Lake View, still before discount.
Switched to Contemporary Tower Magic Kingdom View, still before discount.
Switched to Polynesian Garden View because the discount came out as there was nothing available at the Contemporary with the discount.
Today, Switched back to the Contemporary Garden Wing, Garden View with the discount!
Now I just have to keep looking if the discount becomes available in the Tower for my dates.
Maybe I'll end up back in the Theme Park view. Its like a merry-go-round!

I am going to have to join the Resort Changers. In the past I haven't changed resorts too much, just added days or changed dates. For our upcoming January trip we were booked at WL the week after MLK. We decided to save some money and switch to CSR, but had to change dates to do this. When the code came out we kept CSR, but added the dining plan. Then we saw that we could switch to Contemporary Garden Wing for only a little more than we had planned on spending at CSR, so we changed again. This will be our first time in a Deluxe and we can't wait. I am afraid we may get a bit spoiled though!

....and then one day you will look up the rate online or call a CM and the inventory for the room you were "thinking" of changing to will be gone and you will then know that you are positive that is the one that you wanted.

At least that is how it seems to work for me. Right now I cannot change my reservation by a week and of course I am thinking back to the wide open inventory of yesterday.

It is the same with Dining Reservations. I get just what I want when I want them then start doubting...

Best of luck getting the MKV. I have never stayed in the Contemporary, but I have had it booked more than once...:guilty:

Well thank you, of course after reading your wonderful advice I tried to change to the first week of May and the inventory was gone for the particular room I wanted at the resort I have booked so now I am thinking maybe I will change resorts...:fish:

Our spring trip every year starts Memorial Day weekend. We love WDW at this time too. It's warm but not hot. The Flower festival at Epcot is gorgeous.

OMG...speaking of changing....I woke and couldn't find the thread...:scared1: I am sooo behind on my "DIS"ing because we are in the market for a new desk top computer. Our desk top literally burned out. I have to log on with my DH's laptop from work because my laptop stays at the school.... This means that I just read about the 7 for 4 deal :scared1: .............. now I have to crunch numbers and figure out if we will be going in January. DH says NO (la la la la I can't hear you is what I said while I stuck my fingers in my ears:lmao: ) I went to the web site to see how much BC would be if we went in January (still value season) but free dining with the 30% at OKW or SSR is STILL the best deal. We decided to redo our kitchen (just counters, island, and appliances) so I HAVE to try to save money. I REALLY can't wait until April to see if they offer free dining with a discount and include other resorts. I keep threatening to tutor a couple of students to make up the difference in cost and rebook the BC. (can you tell I'm itching to switch to BC???!!!)

Will the villas at CR be completed by Aug/September?? I'd really like to stay at CR in a villa.... Gotta go price this out. :goodvibes

I am so glad to see this thread! I thought only I had a problem making up my mind! We started at POFQ then Cont. now we are at the Beach Club! Help I can't stop!!!
Do you think the CMs think we are crazy? Can they see from our past history how much we changed our ressies??
