stepdisney How frustrating! Excellent rates at Disney, but those darn flights ! UGH I feel your pain!!!! I would love to have Christmas at the THV at SSR! Great idea!!!!
Peak season is killing me! lol In 07 I had a pin , we paid $82 for a value..not sure whats in store for 09!!!

I just did a bunch of switching yesterday when the AP rates came out. Normally I pick what I want and stay there, but this time I was so confused! I started off with a two night weekend trip for my girls' birthdays. Now that my youngest is 3 we can only pick out of the resorts that allow 5 people. I was deciding between a family suite and POR. I had never stayed at a value but when I found I could get the AAA discount at ASM I figured I'd try the suite. I got myself all psyched up about finally trying a value and convinced myself of how much my kids would love it.

Then the AP rates came out. I called yesterday to see if I could apply the AR prices to the family suite. Nope. OK, I'm flexible, where can we go? POR? No, for some reason I didn't want to go there. OK - how much are the deluxes? Contemporary for $184?! I'll take it! So, now I'm all excited for a room at CR where I haven;'t stayed in years.

A few ours later DH and I are talking and I tell him how we could save by staying somewhere else bu I was really excited about CR. Well, he convinced me that we should save the money (being right after Christmas and all...) and next thing you know I'm booking POR! Now I've been trying to read up on this resort to convince myself, once again, how great it is.

Now, if we were allowed to stay at any hotel (not just the ones that allow 5 people) I would be in big trouble!!

I've been trying to "avoid" changing my mind about my resort choice, but I am like the moth to the flame and couldn't stay away from this thread! Anxiously awaiting the GP codes for jan. 09, oh no! I am hoping to stick with the Club room at CSR, but would love for Disney to tempt me! I have really enjoyed reading all your threads and feel like I am amoung kindred spirits!

Ha ha! I can relate to you! I love reading about your issues because they sound so much in spirit like mine!

Well, he convinced me that we should save the money (being right after Christmas and all...) and next thing you know I'm booking POR! Now I've been trying to read up on this resort to convince myself, once again, how great it is.

I wouldn't worry too much over POR, we all loved it there, and if I gave my kids the choice (which I'm not!) between Poly and POR for our August trip they both said they would pick POR. What crazy kids!

I just changed our Jan trip to WL from AKL. I wanted to change to BC or BWI, but I figured I'd save my pennies so I can stay there in Oct. I want to be closer to F&W anyway.

My AAA agent, Barbara, is hating me right now... I'm sure of it. I had to call her to check on my refund from WDW for the PO-R deposit and now I'll have to deal with another refund for AKL because her screen didn't show the same rate mine did ($204 std view). I'm pretty sure I'll be booking everything firsthand from now on. I hate feeling like I'm driving her bananas. Plus, if there are more discount codes to be had closer to Jan, I may be cancelling/rebooking again as well. Argh. Poor Barbara.

Meg, I know what you mean! My AAA lady was fed up with me I think--I would have been if I was her lol I even went behind her back and booked a completely different trip, different dates, different hotel and then called her the next day to cancel my original. I felt ok about this--a deal came up that I didn't want to miss and I figured that any more changes wouldn't be embarresing as long as there was no 3rd party (TA) involved! But I felt so guilty that I told her she could put her TA number on there and wouldn';t you know--I did it again! Lost control of my reservation! When making final payment--she asked if I was sure I had what I wanted--and was I happy with my resort decision......I convinced her I was. Deep down I really want to stay at Poly so why didn't I change it??? I thought I was safe once I made that final payment but of course, now that it will cost me money to do so, I want to change anyway! What to do what to do!

Okay, our computer blew up on Thursday, it literally burned out. I was so upset because I couldn't read my email (dismails ) to find out who was switching where. Okay, I thought about BC over and over again and I'm thinking that if we get a code (40%) or if they offer free dining with a code to the epcot villas I will be changing. I can't help it. This trip I want to be near either epcot or MK. Since we've stayed at both WL and AKL (loved them both) I've had tiime to weigh what I liked about both and I have to say being close to MK was very, very nice. My DSIL & family stayed at Poly this year while we were at AKL and they had such an easy time traveling back and forth. I did not take the monorail except for after dinner at Ohana. While it was peaceful at AKL, I'd like to try Epcot. I'm afraid that OKW will be too far out again.......(cha cha changes......). Whenever I feel this way)), I know its time to change (insert the Peter Brady Song... Oh when it's time to change, you've got to rearrange...... ) I'm sitting tight for now but I'm searching for a pin code......... I need intervention......

One of the reasons that I switched from OKW was the distance from the parks.

We stayed at SSR last May and it's a little farther away than OKW but we felt out of the loop. I think that may be why we don't like SSR and why we felt that it had a condo feel rather than a resort feel.

I'm not a person who needs the Disney soaps etc. to have a Disney feeling at a hotel but I like to be near the action!

The Swan/Dolphin are our favorite Epcot hotels. However, we're members at BWV. You reminded me that I need to call and see if I can change from BWV to BC for our May trip .

UPDATE I was able to change to the Beach Club!!!!!

Hello my name is s&k'smom and I'm a resort aholic. Last Sunday started at GF, 5 mins later switched to AKL. I wouldn't count on it being the last change.

We'll be staying in a deluxe room at WL, but then somebody had to post some great pics from the Poly and GF and now I'm wondering if we should stay there. A CL room at Poly or Sugar Loaf CL room at GF would be about as much as the deluxe room at the WL. Why do I do this?

Do not, I repeat do not switch to the Poly. If you have to switch, switch to the GF. However, I, even though I suffer from the resort changer syndrome, would not switch from the WL to either the GF or the Poly.

Oh my that's a tough one switching from WL to Poly or GF. I'd go with GF. But here's the enabling going on, WL is amazing at night, DH and I loved coming in on the boat from MK to WL after dark.

Please, please, please DO NOT tell me how to rent points because I can SO see myself calling and renting points and staying at BCV. I have been dreaming of staying at an EPCOT resort. (how do you rent point??) no, don't tell me, yes, tell me (side effects).
